Ring Richard Rawlings?
Just thank me later 😊
Maaan I remember when you had the Red one back in the day or I think it was a ‘70 SS I remember your son Derek brought me over to see it when you picked us up from the Skating Rink we where little and I fell in love with old school muscle cars right then, I think you had also a Red Ferrari in the garage at the time also!’ 👌🏾💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@hondad-series9265p😢
need bigger sizing in your t shirt XL is just big enough for me!!
that man was brought up totally the way you should raise your son make him graduate make him buy his own car and look what that did for that young boy he respected that car and his parents so much that he kept that dream 51 years without a mark on it i would love to thank that gentleman for his unwavering love and respect for the car and his Mom n Dad you rock sir Dennis you kill me finding all of this pristine metal im jealous
"Pride of Ownership", in it's most sincere example.
I agree with you 100%. Perfectly said
Lol@@benjames2497
The way Dennis treats people and his employees is an example to us all What an awesome car
😂😂an example of what an awesome car..😂😂
Wow what an original comment, oh wait its been said ten times on every video, yawn.
I'm not saying hes a bad guy but just remember the camera's rolling what's it like when it's off.
I’m sure he’s a prick.
@@shawnmclaughlin7418he's not thhis friendly, met him at the Jeep shop
I just love how Dennis supports local restaurants by ordering everything on the menu
Yeah he seems like a really good man! Such a gentleman and always tips really well from what I have heard
Props to that man clearly cared for the car better then 99% of folks would. Good for you sir.
99.9%
With all the care and love the original owner put into that car from brand-new, I bet he shed a tear when it left.
Which quickly dried up as he deposited the check!
@@wildcard9724
I'm sure he got over it.
I regretted only one car that I was sorry that I sold.
I got choked up a little but your right, the check made me feel better.
I didn't keep it as long as him.
@@FJB8885what kind of car was it?
@@codyprovince4685
1986 Buick Grand National.
My friends laughed at me because it had a 231 V6 turbo instead of a V8.
Beautiful car and so well preserved. It’s incomprehensible to me how someone could buy such a nice car and resist enjoying it.
no four spoke vega GT wheel steering though
I never understood that either. I tried to do it with a mustang I bought then seen all my friends having fun and said screw it. I buy them to drive them now.
Yeah what a gem !😮
Sometimes just opening the garage door and looking at it and saying to yourself its mine brings will bring a smile to a guy's face. But on sunny days, you'd sure want to drive if it were me.
@@dinoa9608 Yes, but just looking at isn’t my style.
I graduated in 72 and my buddy owned a 72 Chevelle SS so this really brings back some fond memories. Thanks for sharing with us Dennis.
What a great car. In 1971 my friends sisters boyfriend had a red & black 1970 SS Chevelle that was the first time I'd ever experienced a Burn Out in, getting pinned into the back seat, smoke enveloping the whole car... It was magical!
I'm a Mopar guy but holy cow!!! I'm just blown away at the condition of this SS. Simply stunning!!
Same! Can’t beat a good looking Chevelle or gto
I can’t work out what the guy had that for so long but didn’t use …? Was an investment ..?
I wonder if the wife’s the same 😜….
Mopar Performance 👍
Maybe he had two of them. Or he worked too much. I dunno.
@@TOWNCARBUBBA87not even same class 😂😂😂
Ok, I also graduated in 1972 and this was my dream car, but as a field hand, I could never afford one then. This was always one of my dream cars. You’re a very lucky man and I like many of your viewers live vicariously through your channel. Thank you for sharing this car with us.
Wow. You just took me back to 1972, my graduation year also, and great memories of all the muscle cars my friends had. That one for sure is an honest gem. No amount of money can replace that piece of history.
Beautiful. Great to see a Chevelle on the show.
That's the nicest car on TH-cam this week. Great job!
In 1984 The Chevelle i had was the same color. Mojave gold , no stripes with Mojave gold interior. 454, M22. Mine had the original engine but the guy I purchased it from had installed a solid lifter cam , Aluminum Intake, Holley 750 carb and headers. He also installed a scattershield with a Street strip clutch and 410 gears. The great memories this episode is bringing back. I cannot believe how original that car is. I am blown away!
Maybe you should make a video.
Did all 1972 Chevelle SS Car's have stripes on hood and the trunk?@@ronaldmcreagan7784
I graduated HS in 1970 and owned a 1968 Camaro Rally Sport. The 72 Chevelle SS was a car I always wanted to own but never got around to it. If I hadn't seen this specimen with my own eyes I wouldn't believe the condition and provinance...one owner, 22k miles and the original Poly Glass tires blew my mind! What a great find Dennis...thanks for sharing!
Congrats on that 72 Chevelle SS retention. I can relate. I have owned my rare mulsanne blue 71 Chevelle Malibu 400 ragtop over 52 years [since new]. 402ciBB, WR 4 speed, 3.31 12 bolt posi, original 32K miles Top. interior, ragtop tonneau cover, paint all original. No winters and rain only a few times when I got caught in it. My son who will be 50 in a couple weeks first ride home from the hospital when born was in the back seat of this car with my wife now of almost 56 years.. My son is part owner of the 71 at present. He has a Chevelle too, a 72 pro street hardtop. He has owned his car since '89 [under stock configuration]. Yup, we are a couple of Chevelle nuts.
It can't be easy to let go of a car that you have had for so long.
With life changes I recently sold the car I bought the year I graduated highschool (wasn't in 1972, but WAS last century). It was easier seeing the kids go off to college than seeing that car go off on a trailer...lol
@@JD-vl5yh, college these days, no thanks!
Outstanding! That color is close to the harvest gold on my 72 cutlass! What a beautiful time capsule! Thanks for sharing this one Dennis!
Well I’m sure the check that was written made it easy to sell it.
Everything has a price.
Hey there Dennis and crew,I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this wonderful Chevy. 😅
Just sold my 1970 W-31 Holiday Coup last year, ordered it when I was the brake and oil change mechanic at Hatfield Oldsmobile in Maumee, Ohio. Daily driver, was the only car I ever owned.
The SS on that Chevelle now stands for Super Sweet! I remember my cousin had a '72 Chevelle "HEAVY CHEVY" . Also, my father was a tool and die maker back then, and he's the one that made the dies for those control knobs in those cars.
Epic change on knobs was inclusion of function. Graphics on knobs inserts from 81 to. 72
An SS had the function in white symbol , malibus or base were just black .
Wow! Unbelievable!
That's a keeper! There is probably nothing wrong with the radio. Probably the speaker.
Congratulations!!!!!
radio has dirt and dust in the volume control needs a vol controlcleaner from radio shack
@@rsprockets7846Radio Shack is as rare as this car nowadays.
I ordered a new 1972 SS Chevelle 350, Cranberry Red Metallic. That 1972 350/4 was the biggest dog I have ever seen or heard of. It did come with a 12 bolt rearend. I miraculously found a 1970 LT-1 350 engine out of a YENKO Nova that had nearly no miles on it and did a transplant. 4:88 gears and converted the automatic to a BW Super T-10 . It was a street racing killing machine ! Really miss that combo...
Those SS wheels are my all time favorite muscle car wheel!
Truly the stuff of DREAMES, to find a car that nice at that mileage and that age
to coin a phrase, outstanding!!!!!
The respect you guy's show throughout the process of these buys is something i really appreciate.. Great episode as always fellas!
Bought a Red 72 Chevelle SS in 1982. 454, Auto, AC, Buckets, Cowl Induction.$3500. Sold it some years later and it was immeadiantlly wrapped around a tree.
The Car is in stunning condition for a car that old. The Professor has such care for it. Loved the episode!
Let's be honest: these cars are not cars anymore, they are pieces of art!
It's a Dimond and very hard to find and buy they won't sell it as I won't mine either I have my dad's 67 and 70 all original and my dad made me put my hand on the Bible that I would never sell it
They always were pieces of art, now they are money in the bank, and you better have a lot of it to buy one like this guy……..
Absolutely, today is profit over pride.
POJ i believe nothing worthwhile
oops comment below was meant for an EV car. Correction This one is a GEM
WOW just WOW I HAVE NO WORDS MY FAVORITE SO FAR IN ALL THE SHOWS
BEING A LONGHORN FAN LOVE THE COLOR ALMOST LIKE THE TOXIC ORANGE ON THE 2014 SRT8 392 CHALLENGERS.....BEAUTIFUL
I'm sure that owner cried when you walked away. I would have!! The condition of that car is amazing!!
What a magnificent vehicle to be saved,
Hardcore chevy through and through.
It literally saw day light for maybe a minute while loading onto the trailer,
Not even sun light til you did a second update.
A 396 is what i always think is the true chevelle engine,
but that 350 is true chevy hearts.😊
An amazing 72 SS Chevelle. Yes, I stayed for the ride along! Thanks for sharing this one.
I gotta say this is my #1 all time dream car! Congratulations on your purchase! Also, I enjoy your channel much more than Richard’s. Keep it up! 👏👍
What a beautiful car , when do we get to see your collection Dennis ?
Dennis, probably the nicest car I've seen you purchase hands down , so ...Congratulations... Even though you do get some Epic buys ... Let me also say I'm enjoying the show a lot more as it seems Shawn is a bit more in tune and respectful towards his role in your Organization. Lots more enjoyable to watch .. thank you ..
Wow, just wow... Talk about rare find. A man who truly loved his car and took above and beyond care of it. Congrats on the find.
What a BEAUTIFUL SS…..Awesomeness, kudos to the Original Owner!!
man that guy cherished that car from day one !!! just WOW ....
My first car was a '72 Malibu 350 Convertible back in '77, it was a blast!
Hey guys i hope you're having fun making these videos that we all enjoy. Your hard work is appreciated and loved thank you!
Thanks for taking us for a ride Dennis !!!!!
When yall were pulling the cover back on that ss, I swear I heard angels singing! Lol.. absolutely amazing car.
The original owner did the right thing for contacting Dennis. Simply amazing condition 👏 like a time machine
I had a 1969 Chevelle SS396,350hp 4sp. while in the navy. bought it from a guy getting stationed in Japan for $800 in 1976. It was all original with about 40k miles.
I love this guy Dennis what a humble nice guy and also a good loyal friend ❤❤❤
OUTSTANDING! In 1972 I was a medic, working for a county hospital. One of my buddies had a blue SS with a 396 if I remember correctly. What memories from that time period! Seeing a vehicle that well taken care of is truly moving. Dennis, that is your car now....KEEP IT! You would be one of the few that will preserve the car and honor the original owner by doing so. WOW! Now that Chevelle is a time traveling marvel!
The 71/72 SS wheels have really grown on me over the years. And the missing Muncie shifting won't hurt the value at all, if one cares about that. An original period competition Hurst shifter is a highly acceptable day 2 mod.
What a Car, must have been hard to part with, thanks Collins and crew, love you channel.
had those same factory buckets in my el camino
That ss is perfect can't get any better than this 👍😀
Tons of classics in the good ole Hoosier state. That car is awesome but I would be nervous driving on those tires , if one comes apart it would be devastating to say the least . Hope you keep it . I know where there are some equal quality classics in the southern half of the state but there not selling ........yet.
I had a 72 Chevelle. One of the best cars I have ever owned.
Now that's a Rare Original, a light detail (keep the HURST shifter) it's era specific, under the no harm no foul heading.very Nice Dennis
WOW, WOW, WOW and WOW. Just incredible. You lucky guy to score that awesome vehicle.
What a find🏆Just plain OUTSTADING!!!
It’s literally a time machine. Fascinating the owner had the foresight and patience to protect this amazing vehicle. I just love that color too. I kinda thought this was gonna stay with you Dennis….we would love to see your collection one day
Always a pleasure watching you pull out the Holy Grail of Chevelles. Love my new coffee wok shirts thank you.
Some people really know how to take care of their stuff this Car is immaculate what a Gem. Great video as usual 👍👍💯💯💪
I am blown away in the condition of that car and its originality. I am also blown away that he sold it!
Amazing find. Not going to find another one like that. Defo one for the collection.
Good Lord that car is absolutely beautiful. I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Most amazing Chevelle I’ve ever seen! I would not sell it either. You’ll never ever find another one!!
My '70 SS396 Chevelle was stolen when I was in 29 Palms, Ca back in about 1979. Always missed that car. This was an amazing find in that shape after all these years.
The owner had his fun and Dennis was the only buyer he was happy to sell to . No sadness , no regrets ......wonderful !
The OG owner didn’t have that much fun with it he barely drove it, never spun the tires. Makes me wonder why and how an 18yo buys a new car like that one and then hardly ever drive it. Nice survivor car and very very well taken care of.
@@def1791 I was thinking the same . Different strokes for different folks l guess . ....When l was 19 in 1973 l bought a Triumph 2.5 p.i. (petrol injection ) saloon (sedan) . It was a very high performance car back then , quicker than my brothers new TR6 . I drove it like l stole it !!!!
Excellent episode from a Ford Man!
Hands down, That’s a once in a lifetime find! Dennis, Thanks for sharing. I would keep it, if I were you! 😎
I'm a Mustang guy but Wow! Beautiful original Chevelle
First car I ever drove on the road with a stick shift was a customer's car. It was 1970 Chevelle SS454 with a cowl induction hood. I was asked to drive it, through the city, about 5 miles to the other business location for the shop. Since the business owner knew I wouldn't beat it, it wasn't my car, he told me to drive it. That was back in 1977 and they definitely weren't worth then what they are today. It was painted red, white stripes and black interior.
I'd keep that as well. That SS is gorgeous!!❤
10-1 he sells it. I couldn't.
You all know it's really special when he Parks it next to the cannonball run Ferrari🎉
Beautiful Survivor ! Thanks for posting Dennis and Crew !
Dennis, can't help telling you what my Dad always told me, and I now tell my son, don't ride the clutch! Great show, always look forward to Fridays.
So nice to hear the sound of an original GM exhaust system again.
Another amazing find and literally discovered local to me..Originally bought in Churubusco and hidden away in the Fort...great car!
Crazy find. This is a museum piece. How are those tires still holding wind?
True meaning of the word "survivor"! Rare find because of a smart owner. And yes Dennis.......Keep this one👍
That is a nice find. Not many original owner cars that look like that still around. My dad has his dad's [my grandfather] 67 mustang, all original but not that clean but a blast to drive every now and then. Texas panhandle area car.
Awesome Car Dennis!! I agree, nicest ORIGINAL '72 I have seen. Don't know what y'all paid, but I think it is worth every penny. Congratulations!!
Sorry, can’t shut up about this car.....regardless of the restorer it will, forever, only be original once. And you’ve got it. That’s a keeper my friend. Museum quality all the way. Kudos
Dennis treats his people great always like his videos! this chevy is rare being so orginal even down too the ties incedible!
I always thought that Dennis should have his own show 🤠
I think he is just to busy to have time for a show
He has one it's called coffee walk
@@daryl3723 And we just watched it 👍
A show ? This isn't tv. It's a TH-cam video. Big difference.
@@willymaykit1482 Actually it is completely different but exactly the same 🤣
A very nice car and well kept by the original owner 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dennis you picked my dream car ,I had a 72 Malibu years ago ,and always wanted a SS great car you received as always great video.😊
That car needs to be in a museum. To think its been that mans car since he started driving. Lots of memories. Kinda sad though how much he loved the car. Time flies away when you are young. My brother inlaw purchased a 1970 Chevrolet elcomino SS 396cu 4 speed with blue metallic paint with white strips brand new. He had just got out of the army. I remember getting to ride in it in centennial Park in Nashville, me and my mom sitting in the bed of the car. It was cool looking. I remember him playing the 8 track in the car. CCR was singing who stopped the rain. Brings back good memories 😊
Wao!! Indeed a 1972 Chevelle very clean and incredible well preserve. Great purschase!!👍👍💪
should haveorder a cowl induction hood mine cost 47 new from dealer
Denis said the owner never spun the tires on the car. I could see that Denis was very tempted to give them a little spin but restrained himself.
He was very disciplined
Original tires...not safe
Bought me a used 72 Chevelle SS one time and it had a 283 4 speed clutch in it and a friend of mines brother that went off to college had a built 350 sitting in their dads garage so I bought it from him and stuck it in and it ran fantastic for me for many years.
Wow that is a Beautiful Chevelle love the color as well
Hey Dennis I'm a Mopar fan but this is an amazing find! Great job 👏
Stunner of a vehicle.
Oh my lord…… you literally struck GOLD about the same paint color n all! Holy moley!!! 😳🙏
Such a wonderful guy you are Dennis God Bless you and family.
Give Sawn P. a break let him take his lady out on a date !! I’m voting for ya Sawn P. 😎👍🏻🇺🇸🦅Lovw the vlogs thanks 🇺🇸
It has the original air in the tires from 1972
Man Dennis you are so lucky to get to own and drive one of these cars. Im really envious of you. Dont get me wrong you earned it and so could i
What a gorgeous color on that Chevelle, what a great find, GM got it right back then.
The Heavy Chevys were just as Rare !
el caminot ss 454 are rare, neighbor had one
outstanding video from the team as always and an outstanding car
Third generation automotive garage owner . SO MY very first car @ 15 years old was a 1972 Chevelle SS big block 402/396 4 speed with a cowl induction hood. Restored the car fixed it all up painted it . Sold it @17. Thank you for purchasing this 1972 SS. Brought back some Great memories . A girlfriends friend told me I was conceded because I had my initials all over my car . SS Super Sport it is not Sean Strollo 😂
Dennis & Co - ‘loved everything and everyone about this episode, but especially your reaction caught on camera - love at first sight...?!
