    My grandfather had one, and it had a 6 cylinder in it.
    I enjoyed going for a ride in it. Good memories.

    What a rare '63 Ford Econoline. I've only seen one in my entire life.

    • @1982MCI
      @1982MCI ปีที่แล้ว

      They aren’t that rare, there’s still quite a few around but they were susceptible to bad rust in the beds, rocker panels, and in front of the front tires at the lower fender that usually progressed to both driver and passenger floor boards and they were used mostly as trucks and didn’t have an easy life at all so we lost a huge number of these just to rust and abuse and the ones that do survive today have usually been protected and taken care of and hold a fairly hefty price tag. I have seen some of these Econolines over the past 10 years bring this price and not even running due to not many bring around anymore.
      These trucks are kind of an acquired taste. I used to ride to work in one every day back I. The mid 80s that had been used, abused, and put up wet and it had the straight 6 and 3 on the tree which a lot of these came with! There used to be a lot of these on the roads back in the mid to late 80s but they’ve been dwindling since and while I wouldn’t personally consider these “rare”, they probably are considered rare now due to not near as many bring around anymore.
      This one is a beauty in my eyes and while it does have rust, it’s not bad and the 302 is an incredible upgrade and will make it fun to drive. The rust is completely fixable without blowing the budget and with a repaint and add vintage air, you’ll have a truck worth at least twice what nicks asking, probly a good bit more. This is gonna be a fun truck for someone!!

    That is one nice-looking 1963 Ford Econoline pickup. I would love to have one someday down the road. Our grandpa had one in the 70s - early 90s. Whoever bought this one will definitely enjoy it.

    My dad had one of these .It was rustier than the titanic. The three on the tree shift linkage was bad to hang up .I can remember him cussing up a storm while beating on the shift linkage with a hammer to get it unstuck . Thanks for the memories 🤣

    I recall diving, in '69 in my buddy's Ford Econline pickup, some 120 miles on a July day ,reporting to what is now JBMDL for a duty drill weekend and having to stop periodically because the flooboards were getting hotter and hotter and boot leather was about to start start melting 💥🍳🔥

      Besides only being made with 6 cylinder engines, I imagine the insulation under the engine cover is missing on this one.

    I remember when all of them was 6 and nothing more. This ride is something different, for I have only seen 2 with a v 8 and they were custom and this is 1 outside the realm of this Econoline with out a lot to see. But she still has guts. And I like the old dam thing and It 's cool with me.

      Lol😂!! Guess you don’t follow the classic market at all cause it’s actually under priced where I think it should be! I’ve seen these fetching this price for ones that had no engine or tranny and rust much worse than this one! This is a bargain today. 10-15 years ago you could pick this up for $400-$500 but you could also still get a 69 Road Runner for $5k in near showroom condition too. Times have changed my friend and so have prices!! This is a bargain and a half today at $20k whether you agree with it or not

    Gas Monkey Garage did a build on one of these a few years ago. It came out really cool. The Econoline vans were really popular with the hippies. It’s a different ride when there’s no hood and your butts over the front axle.

    • @1982MCI
      @1982MCI ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a different ride but it’s also a fun ride!! These are awesome vans/trucks!! I rode to work in on daily back in 84/85 with a buddy who had it but it was a straight 6 with 3/tree and it was rusted out back then but it was one of my all time favorites and I’ve owned countless classic muscle cars from 60s n early 70s and these are just downright fun! Your not gonna win a race like I could with my road runner or Cuda, but nothing could do a wheel stand and get a girl’s attention like a shined up econoline could!! Your not gonna set speed records but you’ll have the time of your life trying to get it there!!! 😂

    I think the reason why the motor cover is getting hot is because the truck was never designed to have a V8 with headers in it mine had a straight 6 160 also it was originally a three on the tree you can see it on the column that automatic shifter was added after the fact
