But I think it’s more a natural thing that happens sometimes when family members disagree. I don’t necessarily think that it’s all frustration from the dementia. So for the most part, I agree with you. He definitely is a very kind & loving guy who is always concerned about his family…he wants them safe, happy, healthy & wealthy! ☺️🤭

With every question, it's all new again. The look that he has shows how hard he is trying to process the information and reply appropriately. I think much of that is because Dan remains calm and lovingly reassuring. If Dan became agitated, or even overtly emotional and concerned his father would also. This is a masterclass on how to live with dementia or disabled loved ones. Absolute masterclass.
Having a clean heart like a baby. He is an excellent gift in this mean world. Its like an elixir when you know that this person is not interested in your money, property except just worrying about your well being.

They relive the discovery of lost loved ones over and over. Sometimes daily. The sadness over and over. It is terrible for them. They forget they are sad after a while is the only blessing.

My mother had dementia and it was so hard on my dad. He felt such a strong responsibility to care for her…but his health is fragile. My mom passed a few months ago…and despite the grief he experiences, it is very noticeable that he has the burden of her care off his shoulders. I lived with them for a few years…and then they moved to a home. We were hoping it would take pressure off my dad, but it didn’t. My mom wasn’t as positive as Ed is. She was in a constant state of discontent. My dad (and I) would try so hard. She simply wanted things her way. There were good moments in-between and these videos help me remember those.

We just lost someone to Altzheimers on Tuesday. She would ask the same things over again and we would just answer. Sometimes she would say did I ask that earlier today? And we would say yeah, but we don’t mind repeating it for you. It’s so hard watching them try to put things in boxes and organize things in their mind when it just never settles.
Your channel is really helping me get through my dad being 92 and in memory cognition impairment…..as painful as this is, it is also very bittersweet…you are a kind man….and your dad is pretty cool…..

So, it's a blessing to be able to give back the same love, attention and patience to our parents. I took carried my mom in my arms in and out of hospital like a baby. If there would another chance to do that all over again, I would without thinking twice. She passed away infront of me. And I thank God everyday for allowing me to give back what she gave me all those years. 🙏🙏❤ that's just me.

Oh my goodness, when grandpa said... "My brother died from cancer?" I had a tear roll down my cheek, it breaks my heart that grandpa can't remember things. Dan it must be so hard on you to watch your dad go through memory loss. 😭
