      I still have the dirty idea of getting my hands of one of those one day and 2GR swapping it and making it a track monster...
      But oh well, so many projects, limited cashflow!

      @@lecoureurdesbois86 I'd just get one for the hell of it! It feels so light and fun! The sw20 looks stunning though. They're not that expensive right now, pick one up while you can, all the mr2's are so unique and special imo, they all have different personalities and I love all of them

      They do! I was in the market for an FRS/86 when I saw my current SW20 for sale at the same price, went for it. Now I have to do a rebuild though, one cylinder lost compression, seems like a ringland.

      @@lecoureurdesbois86 Me and one of my uncles were looking into doing that with a spyder or one of his sw20s. Him and his twin brother had about 5 mr2s and both had Alltrac celicas in the first years of the 2000s. One of them actually is letting me have his st185, if I can fix it up.

    Would love to see Toyota detune the GR Yaris 3-Cylinder Motor (G16E-GTS) onto the supposed MR2 revival that would improve weight and overall performance.

    • @lecoureurdesbois86
      @lecoureurdesbois86  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, a detuned version wouldn't make it lighter unless you drop the turbo, and you can't make much power with a 1.6... I'd say have it in like the GR Corolla at 300hp and try to make the car as light as possible

    Sure it's electric and probably won't have the same appeal as the old MR2s, but it is good to see some companies starting to develop interesting electric cars rather than focusing completely on bland electric SUVs and crossovers.

    • @lecoureurdesbois86
      @lecoureurdesbois86  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Can't stand electric cars honestly.
      For the average person, fine, they're good at transportation and have decent power to please those who were used to beige Corollas and all. The first thing I get told when I say I hate them is "I bet you have never driven one." But in fact I've driven most EVs because I worked for a dealership for some time. Their only quality is usability (in the city) and the torque/power for the price. They are heavy, have no sound, no feeling, the steering, pedals, all places where you expect some imput from the car, it's all dead. To be fair, most modern ICE cars are feeling dead too nowadays. BMWs steerings have no connexion at all, Alfa Romeo's pedals are weird, etc. Which is why I find myself also owning an STI. Modern car equipped with old technology, it makes it much more fun! After that I will probably go for something like the GR Corolla, but being equipped with an electric power steering, I know some imputs won't feel as good as a good ol' STI...
