  • This is one solid knife, and I recommend it. It is not a typical carbon steel, scandi grind and micarta bushcraft knife. I forgot to mention the weight, 7.72oz. My apologies. If you have an opportunity, check one of these out. It seems very well thought out. Thanks for watching and subscribe for more reviews!

I love saber and flat grinds. I think they’re the most attractive. Sometimes I like the looks of a scandi but it really depends on the knife. Enzo trapper and some of the Helle knives look nice. I think the ricasso can really affect the looks of the knife in a negative way but Benchmade did an excellent job here. I love how it tapers behind the choil. I think this knife is one of the most attractive production knives around

Yeah man I have one too.. and my guy, it's just my cup of tea. Its been at our little hardware store for years and years. And I came in today and it was price dropped to 150... I couldn't hold back anymore. .
It's perfect in every way . On par with any custom knife I've ever handled.. I don't like scandi grinds. This thing just gives me the fizz. I can't find a blemish or an uneven line. It's perfect.

Mines out for delivery! Can’t wait to take it into the woods. Hope it performs better then the ESEE mil3 I got. ESEE was a bit to small for wood work, and honestly it seemed to go dull just cutting food. I got a real sharpening stone so hopefully that makes the ESEE a better knife. Plus its almost impossible to get a spark of the ridges of the ESEE with the powder coating. Plus the ESEE started rusting on the second camp trip.

I agree, nice review. I've owned this knife for five years and have bashed the crap out of it and it certainly stands up to it's name and value. S30V is certainly not a field sharpen metal, but you can knock of any burrs reasonably easily.

It is a sabre grind with drop point.

Love my 162 , can’t imagine a better knife , seems to me they got the design from the knife bear grylls used on man vs wild , which is cool with me , that knife was hand made and $500 , so this one at $200 is cool with me ! 👍

The knife calls to me but that sheat is way to soft. You can harden the leather but since they only use one pin on the belt loop it will stretch out.
For the price point there is no excuse, their kydex is also a joke. I used to think it was probably do to a huge order they had produced... I thought maybe they were stuck with a truck load? BUT many years later they still are being made this way. ..
Just like Tops skinny scales, Beckers plastic scales and Ontario's crappy nylon sheaths..These companies don't care and will keep giving their customers and fans the finger.

I didnt like the sheath so go a custom made from Patriot leather co. Very happy with it.

@@hectorrivera6624 I've been using the stock sheath and I warmed up to it. I actually kinda like the design just wish it had two rivets in that belt loop. I like the way it rides and that removing the knife is really easy. That said there are a ton of budget sheaths like Enzo Briza that would be good alternatives.

@@hectorrivera6624 Those are excellent sheaths ...Their Dragonfly 4.5 is supposed to come with that leather sheath now. I have their Brakimo which has a great kydex sheath but the handle is a bit thin. That Dragonfly is a thinner blade with a better grip so I'd like to get one eventually.
