Nope. It’s real. That’s chromatic aberration. It not just for backlit subjects, it’s a matter of high contrast. Any point of high contrast will create chromatic aberration on lenses that don’t have the coating to prevent it
Hey so this 35mm on a full frame lens is actually 35mm...on a crop sensor, its more like 55mm? But when you put your camera in crop mode or like my sony has a apsc mode, does the crop in make it more than 35mm? If so, should i then get like a 25mm or something to compensate for the the crop?
I had my r7 for about 8 months now and only have ef mount lenses This will be my first rf or crop sensor lens that I will buy... My question is that does the crop factor still go into play with these lenses...??? Just so I know what focal lengths I will need to get...
I am so close to get these lenses, one of the things holding me back is the amount of chromatic aberration. In your short there's a lot and I saw the same in other video reviews. It is always like that?
The Crop Sensor circle of the Sirui is NOT a disadvantage . It’s only from the perspective of “someone who normally shots full frame.” Your bias with regard to full frame is quite obvious. “ if you’re just getting into video “ So you think only full frame is for serious videography? Oh well never mind.
It is the second great review on these lense that I see. (the first one was also great but not in a doc style, only static shoot). However, you did a nice review ! Thanks! I have the R5 .... and also the C70, the sirui lenses (that I have ordered) will match perfectly with that last. You point something true : you can not really use cine lense like you use your photo lense. You will need to change the way you work a little (work in manually mode except if you have something like Dij lidar, you will need to use a follow focus, build a little setup around your camera to be more confortable, etc...). Finally, if you have a cinema camera and mainly use it, will be easier to use that lense !
Totally agree! It was a bit distracting. I think it really depends on your color grading style. I think it was more evident in here vs other people's reviews because he edits in a very high contrast high saturation style. While some of the other videos on yt have a more soft and neutral color grading shot which i think looks quite nice with these lenses. It seems this lens is less of a one-size-fits-all situation but more so optimal for certain styles of video editing. It looks like everything was shot wide open too (at T1.2) which is where the chromatic aberration is at it's worse.
@@jorryluz9659 I finally bought one because I find it at 250 dollars, a bargain, I'll close it down to 2.8 most of the time and will try to avoid those situations and I'll be gentle with the edit.
Wow cine lenses at this price point? That's insane! Great video Anthony!
Thanks Mario ☺️
Yooo I saw the guy in the background filming in the beginning and knew it was Kofi Yeboa! Sick that you two are collabing!
He's a cool dude! :)
What do you think? Are these the best new budget Cinema lenses? ☺️
Seems so!
Can you test all the nightwalker lens at one video pls. I saw that you got 16mm and 75mm
The short film turned out amazing!
So glad we got to do this together!
When shooting a backlit subject, this lens creates a pretty intensely colored edge to sillouettes, or am I just imagining that?

I really wanted to test these with the C70. Hope you enjoy them!
Lens for crop sensor view and what about pictures?
Love the vids, Know its gonna be a good one :D
model yor pc and montior. ? nice jobs.
Great short film! Those trees are just too good at eating drones! 😢
Or maybe I'm just a bad pilot 😆
I feel like Stan Lee in the MCU with the cameo 👀
Now all we need is an after credits scene
@@AnthonyGugliotta 😂 pretty
Much the trailer for a second video !
Loved the short film!
☺
Great video, love the way you create😍
Could I shoot photos too with that lens?🧐
Possibly, but I find manual focusing at T1.2 very difficult
Wow it has a photo look beautiful but need light for infront but all is incredible sorry to tell these things but it good wow very beautiful too .
mdoel for matt Box
ok nice short film, but the chromatic aberration on these lenses was bad enough that I'll never buy them
Nice review! Kind of reminds me of a Casey Nesitat video.
Thats a fast 12 minutes!
@@imgreen4233 Yeah I know!

Casey is a Legend!
@@AnthonyGugliotta I agree!
Can I have those once you are done with them? Lol
I think there's chromatic aberration on every single shot. I didn't think it was so present before seeing your review.

Thank you!
sleep is for the weak, if you dont sleep means allot of things not good, very bady bady if no sleepy sleepy for your healthy and brany brany
Thats an insane amount of chromatic aberration
Naps are nice if you can't sleep.
Naps are how you know you've made it
@@AnthonyGugliotta I nap 3 times a day 🥲
Thats´s crazy chromatic aberration, I don´t like it very much, has character but definitely gave away that that was filmed with cheap glass.
My god, that fringing halo is really annoying, hurt my eyes
Free lens please 🥺
No.
No
can't anthony already gave one to me.
no
I actually stole Anthony’s lenses
