This camera and lens combo is killer, been looking into updating my a7III and this is the kit that I have been looking at. This and the 75mm nightwalker lens as well to have some versatility.
What are the odds! Hope it was helpful and somewhat enjoyable. Let me know if I can be of any further help. The 16mm is a true nugget. I hope I can try the other ones soon.
It's truly impressive, I love 35mm looking forward to hopefully try it out soon. And thank you for chiming in on the adapter, It's a super interesting feature that looks like it could add some insane value to these already affordable lenses.
Thank you, I have some LUT but they're still not 100% there on every point. In the meantime you could check out the phantom luts, I use those (for the fx6) a tonne. Both in camera/monitor while shooting, but also as a base for grading. They will make it so much easier to get your footage to where you want
Yes man these lenses are absolute masterpieces. I have the Sniper set and people are so wrong about these lenses. The optical quality is pretty much identical to the Nightwalkers. People say bad things about the Snipers because they compare the optical quality to that of AF photography glass. These lenses have character, especially wide open. It’s like having a cinema lens with character, but with pretty good AF. The AF is not perfect like G master glass but it is more than useable in 90% of situations with the latest firmware. Great video man, and I plan to get some of these Nightwalkers with cine housings. And oh yeah I have that same matte box. Great bang for buck.
Sweet! I've also heard the Sniper and Nightwalkers are very similar optically. Sounds super clutch, especially when/if you want to film yourself. It's definitely a bit amusing how a lot of people think everything that isn't sharp and clinical is bad and worthless. I will definitely recommend these lenses and the Snipers to those who dare. Totally agree about the matte box. So nice to not have to lug around something larger. Keep it up!
I've had one of these for a while now. I may have undervalued the focal length. The 35mm is the one I use a lot more. But they are the only two lenses that I have.
If you’re used to shooting on slightly longer lenses It can feel a bit weird at first if you switch to a wide angle where you have to move in closer at times. But definitely worth exploring. How do you like the 35?
I believe it's the adapter ring for the matte box you're thinking of? But it's similar looking to these ones that I use - th-cam.com/video/QWIa0wvKBsQ/w-d-xo.html
I HAVE ANAMORPHIC adapter , and still didnt find the good squeezz in editing software , please can you give me your demosion of squeeze , mine is 3849x 1600 IS RIGHT ?
I'm not sure what editing software you're working with or what your desired aspect ratio is but generally, the easiest way to de-squeeze is to conform the pixel aspect ratio to 1.33 I'm using Premiere and here this is done by highlighting the footage, go to modify and conform footage in the drop down menu and choose anamorphic 1.33x I believe it is Moment (Shopmoment) that has a guide for a few different editing softwares as they seem to all handle this process a bit different and there's several ways to de-squeeze. By x-times, percentage and so on. So it's 133% in some nle's and .77 in others.

Interesting, never thought the name of a product would be the most important feature or a deciding factor. You learn something new every day. Have a good one!
Ah, ok. Still, not super surprising if there's some inconsistencies. Especially at this price point. Then again, even expensive modern photography lenses can have missmatching color rendering in the same lineup and between two identical lenses. But one obviously becomes more aware when its a kit where the lenses are more likely to be compared.
You did a great job showing sample footage, nice review!
Thank you!

Sounds like a great combo. I think you'd be very happy with the results you'd be able to get.
Perfect timing dude. Literally looked up nightwalker reviews this morning and your video came out yesterday

I've got the 35mm personally and I can't stress how nice it feels to work with for such a small price tag. Would love to see you review the Adapter!

Hi Thomas! Love the colors! Do you by any chance have tutorials in grading or sell luts? Hope to hear from you

Impressive! I was expecting it to be soft at wider apertures, but I'm glad I was wrong!
Hi Marco!
Indeed, I was quite surprised myself. Quite sharp but not boring ;)

Excellent!
Many thanks!
Would love to see how it would pair up with the anamorphic adapter!
Let's hope we get to test it soon.
A special thanks to Jon Steine helping me with BTS and B-Roll.

@ so far so good. Open wide is a challenge with focus, but I’m doing a lot better with it. The image from both is very similar in quality.

Do I have to wear vampire teeth and fishnet stockings when I go out at night with a Nightwalker lens in a ThinkTank Streetwalker bag?
It's not mandatory, but why risk it
@@thomasfransson Think I'll pass on both. Branding these days is whack. I remember when marketers used to be smart. Evil, but smart.
Not a clue what you're saying, but thanks for watching my video and giving it a big happy thumb up.

Thank you, for taking the time to check it out and to leave a comment. Have a great weekend!
There is inconsistencies between the set. Only thing putting me off really going off the reviews
