Got to the point! Didn’t talk a lot of crap about your house, kids, etc and very clear on the project you were doing. This is what people like. Great video
I appreciate your researching 3 products, where to find them (Lowes), and providing excellent demonstration to show how effective each is. You are a great communicator and teacher!
Thank you so much for making this video! I fussed with Goof Off product until CitriStrip came in the mail. No one in the area carried it. It cut my time by half! Blessings to you!!
Excellent presentation and you go through each example very well. Thank you for sharing your experience with this process. This is one of the techniques that I want to try on our boat project. We left some clear packing tape on the exterior window cutouts longer than we planned and now it doesn't matter what we try it's not coming off easily. Thanks again. Have a wonderful day 😀
Thank you for makeing this vidoe, so i could read the comments, and then remember that gasoline is one of the best things to remove glue. ( lighter fluid is odor less gasoline ). i was trying to remove some tape adhesive on chipboard with plastic laminate. tryed hot water.. i tryed alcohol, i tryed lamp oil ( mineral oil ) and i tryed hand sanityser with aloa vera. ( 70 % ). none of them realy worked. but the gasoline. was so easy to use. i used paper towel, and pured some gasoline on the plastic laminate, and i could rub it of quite easy. i wonder why nobody on youtube dont use gasoline. maybe it is because they can not smoke when they work with it. i could have saved 1 hour work trying with the other things people recomend. but gasoline was the solution for my problem.
The credit card is by far the best thing to use to take off the decal or the adhesive. It's so easy that you can just sit there on a chair and watch the person you paid with the credit card do all the work.
Max... Keith is making a joke here. He is NOT suggesting you use a credit card for the scraping! He is suggesting you use your credit card to pay a professional to do the removal!
Can you do a how-to video on the best way to convince my wife that I need one of those to pull our tiny Arctic Fox 5th wheel 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video!!! Thanks for your service.
Thank you for this vid and your genuine honest appraisal. It saved me many hours and $ of testing all these myself. Nice looking rig and trailer setup. Best wishes.
I'm in the midst of this project on a 13 year old fifth wheel that had heavy sun exposure on one side, I used a heat gun sparingly with the decals in direct sunlight and it wasn't easy because the decals were so dried out they kept breaking apart as I pulled the decal off. I didn't have the buildup of glue that you had mostly I had dried clue where the decal had previously come off on it's own. Personally I will not take anything metal to my RVs finish, I am using a plastic tool for removal of interior panels with a sharp edge to get the decals started, it's too easy to do damage to the fiberglass finish using anything metal and repairing that would be another job in itself. Thanks for the video, I'll try Awesome Orange cleaner purchased at Dollar Tree before buying the orange cleaner you used, I'm sure it's superior but maybe my awesome orange will work.
not on those silver decals, i've been working on it all day, a blow dryer and a razor took all the red and black decals off, but the silver ones are impossible, and that is what he's working with.
I sure hope this works for us, your results was wonderful. We bought an older trailer and the decals are in bad shape peeling cracking etc. We had the trailer detailed just yesterday and the guy tried to tell us they could not be removed, we think he was tired and hot and done for the day, So here we are we found you and we are going to try it out, thanks for a good video, and I will let you know the outcome.
Those decals can be stubborn and a good razor scraper is important, I wish you much success and I look forward to hear of your results and thanksfor watching.
Looks like a random orbit sander with hook &loop nylon scrub pads ( without the built in abrasive ) ( from industrial abrasives )and citri-strip in a spray bottle would do wonders. I have a 23 year old motohome I'd like to paint. My problem is that the vinyl won't come off like yours did.
+Bayoucane I wish you success, but with the citrus the issue I had with it running is because I did not shake the can enough, the consistency of the citrus is like a mucus format, again thanks for watching.
getting ready to do the same to our trailer, so thanks for point us in the right direction. I am a little concerned about using a razorblade on the siding...should I be?
There is nothing better. It instantly turns the adhesive to goo, even when there is primer present. Then again, for jobs this big I would lean towards using the eraser wheel.
When the husband was on the big truck, he used to use Engine Starter Spray. The kind you can spray into carburetor of vehicles you're trying start. It worked for him every time, stickers came off easily.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I just took the decals off my Roadtrek 210P and trying to get adhesive off. A couple of the decals look like they scratched surface of the paint, but not sure. I did use Goo Gone, WD-40, & rubbing alcohol. Goo Gone took most of it off. However, I will try the citrus product. Also, for scraping, I used the Pampered Chef plastic pan scraper. Won't the razor blade damage paint if not used properly? Does it have to be at a certain angle?
if you doing a lot of work as such. I would suggest using a eraser wheel normally found in a automotive body shop or paint store. not only will it take the decals off, it will also take the glue off in one step making it easier to go to a cut and polish.
Wouldn’t it be safer to use a plastic scraper instead of a metal one on the surface of your RV? I would be afraid of couching the surface with a metal scraper or blade
unoefxz ...Goo Gone won’t work on that, trust me. I personally used a “rubber wheel” and used it with my power drill (no damage at all to the paint and fast action removal).
How did you deal with the fading of the gelcoat. You can see where the decals used to be. I have this problem and I have tried many products with no good results.
I Tried the citrus strip stuff with a razor scraper and put the liquid on and let it set for a hour then came back and recoated it and came back in a half hour and the vinyl decal literally fell off. I Was taking the vinyl graphics off a 1989 winn. chieftain. The plastic razor blades broke to easy so i switched back to the razor blades made of steel and found a 22 degree angle kept the blade from cutting the fiberglass body and ripped all of the vinyl and the glue really good with a whole lot less effort. Then i'm going to wash the RV down with TSP and a plastic scrubbing pad on a buffer/polisher and some 3M Finesse to buff it out.
I am glad it worked for you but you waited almost an 1/2 hour, remember you had to shake up the can up until it is at the consistency of thick mucus. but still glad it worked for you, Thanks for watching.
was you planning to use those products in 3 separate spots because you sprayed wd40 all over past the window so it had time to soak with that before the other products, how ever it did come off easy.
Man that is a big job!..I need to find something that will remove the adhesive from where I have peeled off the fake woodgrain finish on the inside of my old wagoneer..I just tried gasoline cause that's all I have here and it is not working so I need to get to Home Depot today..thanks for your advice here.
So just get a rubber wheel with a drill. Much faster. Or even a industrial heat gun and heat up the adhesive and tear off. Or heat up and go over it with the rubber wheel. Comes off like a hot knife thru butter. Much faster than this. And with out all that grease you can paint right after.
To start with, you saturated the surface with wd40, the all the other chemicals were used on the same spot after wd40, it's like cleaning your house b4 the cleaner comes to clean. you wanna do a test on different surface area for each product.
Until they come out with a Product where I can spray it on like you did the WD-40... and the Decals even fall of on the other side of my Motorhome.... This Project ain't even getting started ! Thanks for taking the time to show me I don't want to do this Project ! Liked/Subscribed !
i have an 82 warrior my decals were so bad i used a shotgun to take em off but now i got a bunch of holes to patch...kidding good video bud. just what i was looking for
Try bitu ox It remove glue, chewing gum, ink and new paint from spraying, scratching, asphalt, bitumen and mildew all in one product that is not flammable and biodegradable.
I used alcohol but it was slow, Im trying the citrus strip see if its faster. It also depends on the type of glue was used with the vinyl, of course there is no way to know if it was a water based or not.
You should never use a metal razor blade on RV fiberglass or metal. Not unless you want to scratch the paint and the fiberglass. With Zip strip you need to follow the instructions. Coat it on and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then use a Plastic putty knife. Use the Orange Zip Strip. It will actually bubble the decals to signal they are ready to come off.
That was one of my job I did when I work Body Shop I remove old sticker and I installed brand new details on cars what are you what's 3M decal remover and 3M glue remover sometimes I would use a heat gun and heat up small sections at a time this was my job for many years at a body shop
Yes, there maybe some scratching of the paint with a razor blade but you could use a plastic putty knife to remove the stripper you use, but in my case I was in the mode of prepping my RV to be repainted and sanding was soon following.
You have to monitor the amount of time you leave the citrus on, the longer it is left on the deeper it will work, I was repainting my RV so I did not monitor how deep it work. Thanks for watching and wear safety glasses and gloves, good luck on your project.
I had bumper sticker glue on my chrome bumpers on my 72 Woody....So I used anal-ease or astroglide lube. It has a petroleum based chemical that eats right through the glue and doesn't do harm
Why would you apply another product over same spot that you previously applied WD 40???? Makes no sense. Well yes it’s instantaneous because you previously sprayed those exact same spots with WD 40. Hit a new location
WD-40 is not effective also the also the more you scrape that to a tinner layer of glue the harder it will be to remove when you soak it with spirit white or a strong spirit wipe leave it on the glue until the glue is in a jelly like state and do not scrape a bit prematurely allow it to get right to the point that when you're rubber plant into the liquid you can see it coming into a jelly-like substance and coming right of the whole of the paint finish if you scrape it prematurely it actually makes it harder to remove leave the liquid on it until it's totally soaked in when you rub a spot you should be able to get right down to the finish paint when you get to that stage before the jelly effusive gets dry rub it off as fast as possible if necessary apply a second coaching this is the most effective way of residue from the graphics or wraps of any kind. You have to do it in small 12inc bit's At a time if you try to do to much at once it will start to dry and get hard in parts you have to take your time
Soldier, I want you to live a long happy retirement. Please do not use any of these things without gloves, eye protection, and respirator. Many of these things, including mineral spirits will blind you, or ruin your lungs. Keep safe.
I remove, fabricate, and install RV decals for a living. He's using the wrong scraper, and the wrong release agents. The stuff with the citrus in it, looks decent Not his fault. He just doesn't know.

Thank you so much for making this video! I fussed with Goof Off product until CitriStrip came in the mail. No one in the area carried it. It cut my time by half! Blessings to you!!
Thank you so much. And thank you for your service to America. U.S. ARMY!

I owe you a coffee
Thank you for saving me time and money sir! This stuff is amazing.

Keith, I tried the credit card with no luck, but with the citrus remover and a razor scraper I got the results I was hoping for. Thanks for watching.
Keith Rowe lmao it doesn't seem like he's very knowledgeable about scratching his RV
Keith Rowe Thanks for the video will be using this today to Remove vinyl stickers
Max1Chase1 try to cleaning with petrol (gasoline)
Max... Keith is making a joke here. He is NOT suggesting you use a credit card for the scraping! He is suggesting you use your credit card to pay a professional to do the removal!

thank you so much for doing this comparison!! I've been looking for a video like this and here it is. ☆☆☆☆☆
Thank You and Thanks for watching, wish you much success in your project.
Wait in a few minutes to absorb the W40. Afterwards it's soft to remove.
Thanks! You did a good job and saved me plenty of time. Thanks again!
If you apply some heat with a heat gun it will soften the adhesive and any of these three products will work better.
not on those silver decals, i've been working on it all day, a blow dryer and a razor took all the red and black decals off, but the silver ones are impossible, and that is what he's working with.

Im going to start doing my travel trailer this weekend, thanks for all your information, I will try to post a few videos of my process.

I am a little concerned about using a razorblade on the siding...should I be?
Thanks Mx,, i'm rstoring my RV and plan to decal to recal.. Good to know
The best stuff I've used is "Rapid Remover" works great....
There is nothing better. It instantly turns the adhesive to goo, even when there is primer present. Then again, for jobs this big I would lean towards using the eraser wheel.

Great video and love your truck!
Automotive "Acrylic Enamel" thinner works well too.
Ahh, a paintbrush to saturate sticker adhesive. Great idea! Thanks
Did the razor blade scratch surface?
Thanks for making this video. It definitely helped me.
Glad it helped and thanks for watching.
I used charcoal lighter fluid by Kingsford it works great. And inexpensive
thanks so much you are my new go to guy !!!!!!
if you doing a lot of work as such. I would suggest using a eraser wheel normally found in a automotive body shop or paint store. not only will it take the decals off, it will also take the glue off in one step making it easier to go to a cut and polish.
Naaa my 5th wheel decals was all I will be doing and thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
Hi
You can use a metal scraper on the metal car door?
it will be more convincing to see which product is more effective than the others, if you apply different product on different area
Wouldn’t it be safer to use a plastic scraper instead of a metal one on the surface of your RV? I would be afraid of couching the surface with a metal scraper or blade
doodly squat!!! I use Goof Off or Goo Gone, going to try the citrus stuff... good vid man!
Thanks for watching and good luck on your project.
unoefxz ...Goo Gone won’t work on that, trust me. I personally used a “rubber wheel” and used it with my power drill (no damage at all to the paint and fast action removal).
thanks for taking the time to make the video,
How did you deal with the fading of the gelcoat. You can see where the decals used to be. I have this problem and I have tried many products with no good results.
It should only take you about 12 years to finish it at that pace.
For real. Could use a drill or grinder with an adhesive remover wheel. Piece. Of. Cake.
Wow you have a lot of work cut out for you good vid
adhesive remover looks like the best choice i'm going to try it
Good Luck Jim hope it works for you and thanks for watching.
I have heard that you can use
Citrus furniture polish to remove the decals
That sounds too good to be true.
I Tried the citrus strip stuff with a razor scraper and put the liquid on and let it set for a hour then came back and recoated it and came back in a half hour and the vinyl decal literally fell off. Didn't the Razor Blade cause surface scratches on your paint job?
where can you purchase the citrustrip adhesive remover ?
Put solvent in a mister bottle. Also can use a rubber wheel to remove glue.
How many scratches with the razor blade
Thank you!
was you planning to use those products in 3 separate spots because you sprayed wd40 all over past the window so it had time to soak with that before the other products, how ever it did come off easy.

Thank you for watching, remember to shake the can well, wish you much success on your project.
GAP Gold Solution adhesive remover. just spray it on and wait a minute then use a rubber squeegee . It will just come right off.
Matt Phillips I will check this out.thanks.
This worked great. Thanks!
Glad it helped and thanks for watching

Liked/Subscribed !
So if I use WD-40 coating will it still be ok to use an adhesive remover with a drill/grinder? Id imagine it would be much faster.
Remember WD-40 is really grease so you'll
have to clean it off really good before painting RV
Thanks for the video!! Handy!!
Other TH-cam videos use gasoline and a towel, then wash with soap and water. also, use a plastic scraper to not damage the paint.
i have an 82 warrior my decals were so bad i used a shotgun to take em off but now i got a bunch of holes to patch...kidding good video bud. just what i was looking for
Careful with that citrus, because the longer it stays on the deeper it will go, and Thanks for watching, Hope everything goes well.
Get on amazon it's called rapid tac it's like 70$
Try bitu ox
It remove glue, chewing gum, ink and new paint from spraying, scratching, asphalt, bitumen and mildew all in one product that is not flammable and biodegradable.
Love the tow vehicle. Does your state require a CDL for personal use?
Yes Gary because my state won't let you register it as a motor home.
I used 91% alcohol. Worked the best
I never thought about using alcohol, do you have a video showing how it worked and thanks for watching.
I used alcohol but it was slow, Im trying the citrus strip see if its faster. It also depends on the type of glue was used with the vinyl, of course there is no way to know if it was a water based or not.
I think the citrus will work good for you, monitor time leaving it on. good luck.

Try nail polish remover,or acetone.

Thanks for watching Rodney.
It is only available in California.
Doesnt the razor scratch the paint? Goo gone removes the paint
Yes, there maybe some scratching of the paint with a razor blade but you could use a plastic putty knife to remove the stripper you use, but in my case I was in the mode of prepping my RV to be repainted and sanding was soon following.
Good comparison
thanks
Thanks for watching and remember the longer you keep it on the deeper it will work.
Great video
I used petrol-gasoline (benzine) for vehicles.
That seems dangerous in case of a spark because all a vapor need is a spark, Just be careful and plenty of ventaliation.
put Mineral spirits in a heavy duty spray bottle . oh yeah
I,ve got sticker stuff on my van that only explosives will move. Tried everything, GOO OFF, FOOK OFF, etc, fook all works.
And get urself some plastic razor blades and scraper kit..careful sometimes that stuff can ruin ur paint
Thanks man!
What the best remover?
ATR ADHESIVE SOLUTION. Best film adhesive remover. dissolve on contact.
Where can it be purchased, and thanks for watching.
3M rubber wheel ($12.98), works like a charm with no damage to the paint!
3M eraser wheel, get one....
Where do you but this?
How do you not scape the RV paint
You have to monitor the amount of time you leave the citrus on, the longer it is left on the deeper it will work, I was repainting my RV so I did not monitor how deep it work. Thanks for watching and wear safety glasses and gloves, good luck on your project.
Helen Gauthie
Sprayed it down with WD-40 then you put mineral spirits course is going to come off easy
An eraser wheel would make short work of all that
gas works best
Petrol and a rag
Damn, what a mission.
I had bumper sticker glue on my chrome bumpers on my 72 Woody....So I used anal-ease or astroglide lube. It has a petroleum based chemical that eats right through the glue and doesn't do harm
Dude, you sprayed Wd40 all over the shit then put the mineral spirits over the area you we-40ed.
👍🏼
Why would you apply another product over same spot that you previously applied WD 40???? Makes no sense. Well yes it’s instantaneous because you previously sprayed those exact same spots with WD 40. Hit a new location
Just use a steamer like pros do
WD-40 is not effective also the also the more you scrape that to a tinner layer of glue the harder it will be to remove when you soak it with spirit white or a strong spirit wipe leave it on the glue until the glue is in a jelly like state and do not scrape a bit prematurely allow it to get right to the point that when you're rubber plant into the liquid you can see it coming into a jelly-like substance and coming right of the whole of the paint finish if you scrape it prematurely it actually makes it harder to remove leave the liquid on it until it's totally soaked in when you rub a spot you should be able to get right down to the finish paint when you get to that stage before the jelly effusive gets dry rub it off as fast as possible if necessary apply a second coaching this is the most effective way of residue from the graphics or wraps of any kind. You have to do it in small 12inc bit's
At a time if you try to do to much at once it will start to dry and get hard in parts you have to take your time

you touched your eye with your toxic fingers? my god.
Yeah, I saw that, I need to work on that but it was a eye glasses push but good looking out for safety and Thanks for watching.
Citristrip Low VOC adhesive remover :)
Are yr Urdu me bol na Bhai nh Hy mera plz
:)
Soldier, I want you to live a long happy retirement. Please do not use any of these things without gloves, eye protection, and respirator. Many of these things, including mineral spirits will blind you, or ruin your lungs. Keep safe.
“Rapid Remover works Awesome To remove the Adhesive”...
I tried various product and ended up using the citrus, I may later try Rapid Remover, Thanks for watching.
It takes time to soak wd40. Then it work best
I remove, fabricate, and install RV decals for a living.
He's using the wrong scraper, and the wrong release agents.
The stuff with the citrus in it, looks decent
Not his fault. He just doesn't know.
What should he have done and what products should he use?
