Methylated spirits work best for this, use a wallpaper steamer to get the vinyl off.

& completely ruin the paint
Use to be agricultural paint sprayer we used to wipe the vans down regularly with thinners after 1/2 years then polish,, the paint was like undercoat !!! Afta 3 years
