  • GCN (N64) Gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
NOTE: I'm using the emulated GameCube Version of Majora's Mask from the Collector's Edition Disc.
"The series again takes a dramatic turn from tradition as Link wanders into a three-day journey in a mysterious parallel world. Majora's Mask challenges players to don magical masks and save a town threatened to be crushed under a menacing moon."
--The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, Game Info
Majora's Mask is definitely a Zelda of a different color; being said, Majora's Mask is my personal favorite installment of the series, due to its darker tone, the three-day cycle and its unforgettable emotional moments; both heart-warming and tragic.
Finally, Link is able to confront the Skull Kid and is able to stop the menacing Moon. Link plays the Oath to Order atop Clock Tower to summon The Four Giants from each compass area so they may attempt to stop the apocalypse. The Giants are successful on stopping the Moon, failing the mask's plans of destruction. We then realize how the Skull Kid was being used as a mere puppet by Majora's Mask; since the Skull Kid was a being with a weak heart, he was then manipulated by the powers of the mask. Majora's Mask then enters the Moon and tries to control it itself so it may fall upon Termina. Link then enters the Moon, only to find a beautiful paradise with a lone tree with five masked children around it. Link talks to the lone masked child wearing Majora's Mask and decides to "play" with it.
