Imagine being the last person in the MINE for 70 days, proberly hallucinating scary shit, in a huge dark tunnel, starving, mentally and physically unstable.. unsure of what could go wrong, what if that last guy couldn't come out, the amount scaryness and the fear factor. Props to the leader, may god lead him through the right way and give him guarrented heaven.

even though they were down there for very long they were 33 people, i think they couldve come up with ways to pass the time and keep mental stability. great video and i love the happy endings with those stories.
I remember in my junior year of high school watching a movie adaption from this story, I think it was called 33 or something like that. It was an awesome movie and really humanized the people trapped down under. I thought this was an incredible video going over these mens’ stories and the struggles that came with it. I loved the focus that you put on the miners’ determination and faith that they’d get out. Truly a feat of human courage, and things like this, positivity don’t usually get recommended in media, so it made me happy seeing all the positivity emanating from this video, the creator, and the commenters. San José mine wasn't a very up-to-standard mining operation back in the day, so yeah, that's correct. Thankfully the safety standards for mining operations in Chile improved after this.....and also, there are not many under-ground operations, most of the major copper mines here are open-air
I remember that rescue ... I believe part of the reason they handled the isolation so well is because they had a job to do by clearing the debris. Physical exercise like that can help burn off the stress hormones that your body lets loose ... (Read "The Body Keeps the Score") so I'm sure that debris helped them psychologically, as weird as that may sound. What a stressful thing, though ... man. @ absolutely, there should be praise for rescuers, but generally, when good is present, God is present. God has a plan for each of us, and those who were involved in this accident have a plan for their lives from God. That’s why we believe He saved them through the selfless work of those contributing to the effort and credit should be given. That’s just the general Christian take on the matter. I remember seeing this in the news when i was 6. I watched the updates when I came back from school and cheered with my grandma when they were free. There's so much footage about this accident. They all did so well and sent notes to the outside where they updated about their state. I'm so happy you covered this story.
People that go underground are a rare breed. And countries from around the world coming together to help strangers demonstrates the best of humanity. We're all on this spaceship together, folks.
Relevant to mention, that the country where this mine is located is Chile. Being a highly seismic country (it’s located on the edge of a tectonic plate), small earthquakes are extremely common..

Seeing how you can survive with a very limited amount of food for 33 people was incredible but it LITERALLY took over two months the 33 people LITERALLY had more faith and courage than the families up on the surface seemed impossible. They literally were splitting people up to make people laugh and rest and for Mr Luis he’s an Absolute Angel for giving courage and faith for the rest of the 32 people. It seemed impossible but they were determined to survive and that’s a great thing because that saved 33 people ❤

They weren't starving by the time they were rescued. The last guy was only alone for a little bit.
