- Welcome to MojoPlays! Today we’re heading to the upside down and looking for some stranger things as we check out the 10 weirdest PS1 games. For this list, we’ll be looking at some of the most experimental and just downright mental titles released on the PlayStation 1 during its lifecycle. We’ll only be focusing on titles released outside of Japan because those oddities deserve a list all their own. Our list includes “Sheep” (2000), “Baldies” (1995), “Nightmare Creatures” (1997), “Skullmonkeys” (1998), “Pandemonium!” (1996) and more! What was the weirdest game you played on Sony’s first console? Hogs of War is amazing! Fun fact: there was a PC version but it was bugged and the AI never moves in that version making it much easier.
Me and my buddies were obsessed with this game. Great multiplayer fun!
I like weird games. Sometimes they stood out of the crowd. Let's just say weird games is trying to do something new and exciting.
Fact: Hogs of War was made by Infogrames Sheffield House, which used to be Gremlin Interactive, a studio best known for the games Zool, Actua Soccer and Lotus Espirit Turbo Challenge. The voice work for Hogs of War was done by the late great Rik Mayall.
Vib Ribbon was so innovative and mind blowing. You could actually remove the game from your console, put a CD of your own and play the songs from there. Most of the songs didn't play well at all but it was cool anyway.
Hogs of War was one of my favorite games when I had the PS1. I was extremely happy when I found it on Steam about a year ago, but then my happiness was crushed when I learned that Hogs of War could not be played with Windows 10 and newer updates
You don’t want to play the pc version anyway. There was a bug that was never fixed and the AI enemies don’t move, only shoot.
Hogs of war was one of those games that really brought back memories of the good old days
Nightmare Creatures was amazing! Used to play it every day after school as a teen!
Sheep should receive a remake, its looks like a cool game.
It is a really fun game. I have the PC version. There is also a GBA version which is arguably somewhat of a remake.
Remakes are greedy and unnecessary.

My dad still gushes about Pandemonium to this very day. It's an underrated gem, according to him. Gotta try it out someday.
the funny thing is the rip off the animal game play from a nes game called little Nemo and the dreammaster

When I saw the title, Baldies immediately came to my mind. So glad it was included in the countdown because I would play it for hoursssss
Rising Zan!! I was almost convinced no one but my childhood friend and I knew about it
I remember Incredible Crisis mentioned in a PS magazine as one of those games just released in Japan and pretty much having no chance in hell of ever coming over here. Nearly a year and a half later though it made the list as coming soon much to the surprise of everyone. Anyway I never thought much of it until I noticed a copy of it at some flea market New!! Overall I loved the wacky humor but boy those stages were challenging. Anyway I still have it and it is still in great shape.
Devil Dice was another weird but very fun underrated game especially in multiplayer mode.

The animation style of rampage by Midway was creepy so is the pig war game same vibe lol

Pandemonium was pretty legit. Odd as hell, but a solidly made game.
Hogs of War was amazing, just a bit too hard for me when I played it as one of first games I knew

incredible crisis looks fun.(like ps1 games with an anime style and like it's if warioware's minigames were being experienced by the main characters themselves before get it together.:3)
wish we got a sequel to skullmonkey's as i loved the neverhood and the creator's(my english teacher was friends with him and he used to let me play both games during recess at school/loved the writing when i got to the end.:3) other work catscratch.

Someone made a demake of Bloodborne in the style of Nightmare Creatures,search for it,its pretty cool.

I had Hogs of War, it was good if you persevered but the controls were atrocious, especially combined with the camera.
When I saw the title of the video, I knew that #1 was going to be Pepsiman.

LSD Dream Emulator? It's a cool game. I find it kinda upsetting that it's known as "this quirky meme game"

Why does everyone compare bloodborn to any game released before it that has certain mechanics like it? Bloodborn is like Nightmare creatures is the correct term. Otagi would also be the correct game to compare, better than bloodborn
