Pretty sure this game is intentionally supposed to be a horror game. IIRC, the game is programmed so the longer you play it, the more likely you are to get scary content (like the Grey Man you saw or the "Violence District" dream world). You said the game was starting to repeat itself, but really its because you have to play a while in order for the game to start showing you everything it has.
Yep, I watched another TH-camr play it years ago and he seemed to know a lot about it. He played a lot of it and it got more freaky after a while.
i heard that the grey man is there to ruin your progress and stop you being shown new realms, so if he flashes you then the game generates the same worlds as the ones at the start of the game
I think that graph you get at the end of each day is meant to have axes that represent how dynamic/strange things are and how creepy things are, and that it's influenced by stuff you do in ways that aren't very intuitive
Nah, it was never supposed to be a horror game, just a game where you walk around and things happen.

Something about this game reminds me of the very bizzare and colourful dreams I'd have when I was a kid, like a dream where I'd stare at my familys old 90's tv and flashing lights would appear with a hello kitty face that would get closer and closer and start whispering incoherent nonsense until the power would turn off and I'd start crying. I had that dream so often I'd avoid the tv irl.

It reminds me of an early 3D RPG where all the house have to much space in between each other
The guy who made it honestly wasn't even trying to make a game, more just a piece of interactive art. That's why there's like no gameplay at all and the geometry doesn't need to make sense

LSD: Dream Emulator was the first game I saw on TH-cam ever be covered as a Let's Play, and not just a review; I think it's still up even up as one of the original series on the site from the first couple years of TH-cam, I know I rewatched it again for nostalgia sake sometime in the past two or three years. I'll have to go check sometime soon, now.

He watches Amphibious Amphibian, so maybe. I'll also comment up the death rate to 3x and limb loss to frequent for a much better experience. What it does is if you lose a limb or have negative values they won't recover by themselves and you'll need to bandage them. In the base game it gets SO FRUSTRATING when you're clearing out an outpost and have a ton of guys just unconscious that you can't kill and have to wait until they recover naturally to hit again and hope they damage the stomach or the head and not just fall unconscious again. Half of AA's videos are him complaining about this happening and the Kenshi discord has been recommending this 'fix' for literally years lol.
If he's anything like Wilburger, that series would be absolutely incredible.
@@Purrcival593 Wilburger and AA are a big part of why I built a PC haha. I saw all the fun games and mods I was missing out on. Been the best purchase I've made in 10+ years and mine is only mid range no rtx or nothing.

Those 20-year-old textures, they are quite scary. If you want a horror, it's very fitting that you can't see far. You need a dense fog these days for that.

If I remember rightly the soundtrack is just one song remixed over and over and over and randomised
Theres a full soundtrack that's composed as songs (the one in the ferris wheel part is on it) and a separate bank full of different instruments that get sort of semi randomly chosen for each world. Each world has its own selection of instruments to choose from so there's quite a range

Me too. This is the kind of game my bible thumping mother would have gotten me. She got several that were similar. Though, now, as an adult, I'd be mildly interested knowing the context and backstory of the games development. She would have looked at the screenshots on the case as she didn't know a thing about drugs. It eventually got to the point where if I were to play any at all they had to be from that old arse Christian computer game company. The one that made the game where you go around throwing "the fruit of life" at Satan to kill him. God those games were absolute trash. Luckily, my dad would let me play Manhunt, GTA, finale fantasy. Actual good games.
4:04 i've had some weird ass dreams like this tbh, usually involving an apocalypse, being in a dungeon, being with another person (sometimes a female, like how last night i dreamt i was BotW link exploring the different worlds in the games with BotW Zelda, i explored wind waker and she commented how fascinating it was to see what their world looked like in the past, was interesting experience.), and sometimes my dreams turn into batshit nightmare with bugs crawling and eating me or some other horrific shit.
