    I feel like the only OP weapons are the ones that can infinitely stunlock (hand grenades, plasma rifle ball shots, flamethrowers, etc). Bow's take a lot more skill to use especially with the arcing arrows, and using scatter shot up close is really dangerous. But, many of the enemies will have the same, if not better capability of stunlocking if you're not careful.
    I think people are just used to everything taking hundreds of hits to die in RPGs, whereas Elex tries to keep things lethal, aside from attacking something much stronger with inferior gear.

      Yea I agree. The stunlock from those weapons can be also considered as OP. But stronger albs/reavers etc, will also tend to stunlock you with the same weapons, if not careful. Also the enemy (especially beasts in my experience) will try to evade, and dodge quite frequently. I miss my jet pack attack vs beasts like chimera, moloch and similar beasts, because they like to evade quite a lot sometimes actually.

    To anyone who thinks the 5 arrow shot with a strong bow is OP, I would recommend The Redeemer's plasma burst mode.. 120 AoE damage and stun lets you cope with all and every enemy and most enemy groups

    I played a Cleric with bow. With Ranged Skill 3/3, High Dex, High Int 5/5 in the PSI Buff and the Cleric Ranged Buff with Warbow Three you hit down a Troll with 5 or 6 Shots.
    Alle Mechs are two Shots and Albs are one Shots.
    Bow is easy Mode in the late Game.

    Is there a ring or something that give you energy resistance? Have to fight that 7300 or 3700 robot.

    to me the main question is : whats the point to prolongue every single kill in a game where you need to kill thousands of monsters. there is very little sense in using anything but stongest weapon possible. it doesnt do much to gameplay aside from dragging the combat by dozens of hours, best fluency is when you can just snipe everything with 1 shot and keep progressing in the game itself.

      For me the game is fantastic, because it meets my taste, but there is one thing that bothers me. Elex is a game, where the emphasis is on quest completion rather than monster killing. The truth is that you complete quest for story and character progression, and kill monsters more or less for fun or for the challenge. Of course there are some exceptions to this formula, because you cannot complete a quest without knocking some heads, but the other side of the coin is, that killing even the simplest Biters in this game can be too much effort, for too little gain.
      The solutions i believe that could change this is:
      1. Highten the exp gained from killing enemies. 10exp for a biter is too little and 5 exp for a critter is a joke, because if your unlucky and get stuck on something, one charge of this monster can deplete 1/3 of your health or kill you early on. Jax is still an Alb Commander after all. Don't make him a total wimp at the beginning.
      2. The prices for monster remains could be higher. Getting 4 coins instead of 2 for a feather or teeth could make monster killing far more lucrative. Yes i know that with the Trophie Hunter perks, you can get more stuff from those monsters, but the early grind is just that. A grind.
      3. More quests overall that include you getting some stuff. Like someone needing teeth for a necklace, that the person can then make also for you making you gain more exp, trophies, etc. for killing said monsters.
      4. Make the difficulty spike more extreme. Make critters much weaker than what they are but keep Jackals on the same lvl they are now for example.
      PS: Raptors being weaker than some stronger variant of the Biter (danger bird or something along the lines) is a bit of a disgrace. I lured that bird into the Exile entrance in the Valley of the damned and this one bird wrecked the whole place. I mean the 3 Exiled in the entrance and everyone after that because i lured them together.

    I agree its probably more about classic PB character progression, which in most their games takes you from being pathetically weak to god-like powerful over the course of the game, rather than the bow specifically being overpowered. The Thunderclap shotgun, for example, has almost as much damage (92) but a much faster firing rate (until you have to reload) and is easier to aim, so is a safer way to kill things with a ranged weapon. Also, due to the fact that each subsequent hit in a melee combo does more damage than the last if you time it right (including the Special Attack doing WAY more damage if you use it smoothly at the end of a combo rather than by itself), if you do a full combo with a Special Attack at the end with a good 2H weapon you'd kill that troll even faster.

    • @click4gameplay
      @click4gameplay  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rubikant Yes, their game design stayed pretty much the same from the old Gothic games. Elex has a strong Gothic 2 feel. Bows in every rpg are always considered a bit op tbh. Melee does not lack in damage imo at all in Elex, but I see how someone would think that bows are OP. Yea, special attack does actually have higher damage if you use it when the combo bar is full, but you'll need a lot of stamina.

    • @Rubikant
      @Rubikant 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, just so you know, in my tests the damage of Special Attack has nothing to do with how full your combo bar is. It has to do with how many correctly-timed attacks came immediately before it. Try testing this yourself:
      Fill up your combo bar all the way, but then wait for just long enough for your combo to be over (the white line to go away), then use the Special Attack while the meter is still almost entirely full, and look how much damage it does.
      Next, starting from an empty meter, try doing a combo string until the combo meter is just barely high enough to do a Special Attack (about 4 light attacks or 3 heavy should do it if timed correctly), and then finish the combo with the Special Attack by timing it with the same timing you would use for the next hit in the combo normally, and look how much damage it does.
      The Special Attack in the second example will do WAY more damage, even though the combo meter isn't as full. That's because it is not based on how full the combo meter is, it is based on how many timed attacks you did just before the Special Attack was executed (and if the Special Attack was executed with the same timing as you would normally use for the next attack in the combo, i.e. right when the bar hits the white line).
      This applies to normal attacks too, though it is not as noticeable. The combo meter has NO effect on damage, it is ONLY useful for whether or not you can activate your Special Attack. What DOES effect damage is how many correctly-timed attacks you did in a row, regardless of what the meter is doing. Knowing this can make a huge difference in the early game since it can be used to push past the defense of enemies and do actual damage.

      I made a short clip demonstrating this, but maybe you could cover it in one of your videos and explain it better than I did: th-cam.com/video/pX1jyQ2DMRc/w-d-xo.html

      Partly agree. But in Elex I have feeling that there was a big jump from wimp to godlike. I chose a path of clerics with int/dex as a primary stats. Long time took me to be able to use Laser (I) and after that upgrade of my character was almost instant. I was able to upgrade Laset to II and later III very fast and also my stats.

      Glücks Grüti change button in settings, left alt - works much better

    • @grueti21
      @grueti21 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i already have it on left alt. But i suck at timing. That's why i stopped playing monster hunter. i always hit air because the monster jumps away before i hit it and i get tossed around like a ball by every monster.

    • @click4gameplay
      @click4gameplay  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Glücks Grüti Maybe the best tip I can give you for evading and dodging, try to do it just a bit later then you think you should. I've seen many people trying to do it too early. Evade can be a really risky way to play, and dodge is a must safer way of evading damage in most cases, especially because you'll also be safer if the enemy chained a few hits, because you'll end up far away from them in most cases.

    When is the bow OP: When u put ur atributes only in requirement of item, and after that u only put ur atributes in dexterity, and u ignore everything else, + max perk ranged weapons, and game becomes easy, the thing in Elex is that you have weapons base dmg, but also damage depends on ur stats too, so higher dexeterity, higher bow damage, simple but it has dissadvantage, cause u will lack constitutuin, inteligence. U just need to pick 1-2 major atributs at start that u want to raise, depending on ur style of playing and stick with it till end of game.... Its a nice game by the way, I hated it, but keep coming back to play it, and then i suddenly realise i like it ....

    He said there is no op weapons o.O guess u never got the redeemer yet it's the plasma gun that knocks everything to the ground n staggers the most biggest enemies on the game lol

    • @taekwon-do4life667
      @taekwon-do4life667 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree. But kinda Range damage feels more OP than Melee. Since you can just kite and hit and not care about the stamina. Also you not taking any damage and not using pots. So your Elexit waste is alot lower than going melee.
      Laserguns are alot faster, can shoot 5 shots and have 3times more DPS than Warbow3.
      Plasma, Flame and Bazooka are also really strong with perm stun and AOE damage and you dont have to aim.

  • @cptnhero6116
    @cptnhero6116 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    bow is simply op, because as soon as you have fan-shot you hit 5 arrows into everything, in melee-range, you dont need stamina for attacks. so you can basicly dodge the hell out of it, while hitting them with 5 arrows always.
    i restarted the game because this way of playing is really boring to me. im in 2handed weapons now, 1 difficulty higher, and hell, its quite a big difference now.

    • @click4gameplay
      @click4gameplay  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I love 2 handed weapons as well. But yet, even the worst 2 handed weapon, can stagger lock almost all enemies, and that can be considered as ''OP'' =P

    • @taekwon-do4life667
      @taekwon-do4life667 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree. And the Laserguns are even more OP than Warbow. With faster DPS.
      But still 2 handed requires at least armor not to get oneshoted by strong mobs. Bows and Guns does not need any deffensive statts.
