Seems like Steam DB numbers are going up! It's currently a little bit above 8k. Like I said, it's just one metric, but it's great to see it growing! Hope it continues.
The hype for Elden Ring will eventually come down, so people will start looking for something else to play.

The game was still in the top 10 best sellers, even if no one plays it. All time peak isn't a good way how to judge if the game was financially successful.

Supporting someone for the sake of is just wrong. Elex 2 was a nightmare. They changed the characters which is baffling. Elex was pretty cool. Elex 2 was a step backwards and doesnt even feel like the first elex other than the clunky combat.
I liked Elex 1 & respect the Venerable Piranha Bytes.
But thinking they would survive vs Elden ring is commercial suicide!
They should have held back and polished that jank!!

Yeah this is a game i will come back too eventually, but i just cant stop playing elden ring (like most people). Plus we recently had the record breaking player numbers of people in the launch of lost ark. So yeah just a bad time for a smaller game to release.
Not the mention Horizon forbidden West. Which is almost the same player base. Most have not a PS5 yet but still...another chunk of players who didn't bought it.

Yeah I had to give Elex 2 a break. It got to the point where I see this map (E2) and I don’t know where to go or what to do. Or I know what to do but not where to go. Then I end up fighting a monster I can’t win against. Bottom line. It was a mistake for this to come out so close to Eldin Ring.
I am interested in Elex 2, but Elden Ring is so good..
@@1IGG totally agree with you. I gave Eldin Ring a break and I played some Elex 2. I felt like I wasted a bit of time so I switched back to ER. I’ll play E2 later though for sure.
Yup, this really bothered me. I wound up sticking with Elden Ring over Elex 2 myself. I will play Elex 2 some day but... many others won't now.

honestly marketing for this game was really badly done. The only way I've heard about it was mainly through your channel, I haven't seen anything pushed to raise awareness for this game.

Going up against Elden Ring is a death sentence for every game that has even a slight overlap with its playerbase.
It's a shame really. I was actually kinda interested in Elex 2 some time ago, but the hype of Elden Ring actually made me forget about it entirely until I saw this video.
On another note: I'm glad that the Outward Definitive Edition has been delayed a bit so it won't have to compete with Elden Ring.
I figured out what is wrong with outwards combat. Instead of a posture bar the game should have had hit stun after being hit.
Oposite for me. I am Souls and Sekiro material but.. Elden Ring wait for me to finish Elex 2 in this very moment..
The number 1 problem with modern PB games is quite simply quality, and I'm not talking graphics. Gothic 1 is revolutiary game, Gothic 2 is a masterpiece, Gothic 3 became a good game after patches and Risen 1 was simply a rock solid RPG right outta the gate.
Everything since then has been painfully mediocre, and listening to the PBs talk its no wonder why. The magic appears to be gone.
No magic, just an "old" guy who has gotten comfortable in his niche (Talking about Björn Pankratz!) and doesn't understand modern game design at all and wears way too many hats at his company (the guy couldn't do a decent job fulfilling all of them, even if he slept in his office and ran on coffee and energy-drinks and caffeine-pills to keep his need for sleep down!)

@@dreamingflurry2729 It's a shame because they really COULD break into the AAA market. They were always capable of making an awesome game, but also they fall short every time since Gothic 2. IMO, the idea behind Elex has everything to become a huge IP, but PB is just... disappointing.

I'm just happy that there is content creators giving these games exposure. It seems everywhere else ignores them or bashes them. (I have this news feed thing on my phone and noticed today that IGN slammed Elex 2 (much like the first game). They seriously gave it like 4/10 or something. ) It bugs me how mainstream outlets act like they're these huge gamers and RPG fans, but only the games that fit their more casual standards are worth anyone's time.
I've noticed since the days of the wii, big gaming news outlets give more mainstream games higher scores. Smaller AA or indie games get harsher opinions and less leeway. Which was always backwards to me since the big guys have better budgets and can fix issues faster.
IGN and others similar only playing the game as their job. I doubt they ever have doing a game or even have a passion in gaming.
They also have financial and connection incentives to give big companies higher score.
They just dont care straight up pointing mistakes for indies and smaller devs, but often forgive AAA games glaring issues.
@@The-Homi the big guys pay for good reviews. Also more exposure they don't want to give bigger games lower scores and incur the wrath of more fans, and risk souring relationship with devs.

While I see why this is a popular narrative and shared sentiment, there really is no evidence that mainstream outlets are dishonesty biased towards a certain genre, studio, or whatever. When days gone released buggy as hell it got the same treatment. Meanwhile, while everyone was desperate to find a rational reason to hate the last of us part 2 in order to hide their embarrassing emotional reaction to a fictional character dying, the mainstream journalists maintained objectivity.
The standards simply keep getting higher and there's nothing wrong with mid level reviews. Piranha bytes haven't survived the industry all these years on the charitability of reviews. They have their fans and that's all they need.
@@justenbenally522 info released during that gamer gate thing showed people were trading good reviews for all sorts of things. So the evidence is there, but trust your gut never lead me wrong
A game being janky is one thing....that's fine...but when it looks like Elex 2 in 2022 and it runs this bad. That's an immediate refund...it was for me.
It's pretty clear that THQ wasn't particulary proud of how the game turned out, so they swept it under the carpet with that release date: they rather lose money than reputation. The question is why they acquired Piranhabytes in the first place ¿What they expected from a small studio that's known for it's jank?
Yeah. They picked probably the worst time to release it, right after a slew of massive AAA launches.
I completely understand and can see why this game is getting all the hate, and I don't know why, but I just don't care. I still love it, there's just a charm about it that's hard to put a finger on, any other game with this many issues I would not put up with. I'm about 20 hours into elex 2, it's pretty good so far, but I liked the first one better.

Lets be honest, Elex 2 doesn't feel like a Piranha Bytes game. I really hated it and I'm a massive Gothic fan since early 2000's.
I played every single Piranha Bytes game since Gothic 1. Gothic 2 is one of my favourite games of all time. But guys, Elden Ring completely blows it out of the Water! And that's coming from a German. Outside of Germany even fewer people care about Piranha Bytes..
2 major issues IMHO. 1) the insane release date and... 2) lacking a BIG hook. There's nothing BIG in any of the ad campaign to differentiate Elex 2 from Elex 1. Sure the rocket pack now allows for flight, but there's nothing amazingly beautiful, complex, or astounding that cements in your mind that "I have to get Elex 2 for that!" Elex 2 looks good... but mainly if you enjoyed Elex 1. Without a big hook, that makes Elex 2's audience the niche of a niche. There's just so much content released nowadays that you either have to WOW the audience... or release during a slow AAA schedule. Anyway, hope Elex 2 can find an audience... but I really miss both the Gothic and Risen series.
But isn't "more of the same" enough for most people that insta buy the next entry in their beloved franchise/series? Most of the current long term franchises have hardly any innovation but are generic garbage, same old formulae and show no risks or originality. Look at Ubicrap for isntance, same crappy game but "this time in Nepal!!111". Why then does Elex need a special ingredient to convince people?
@@Bunkerknacker_Retro-Nostalgie Having played Elex 1 on console and PC, I enjoyed the experience with the usual PB caveats, but... I didn't love it. I think that was the case with many who played the original. Elex 2 needed something to overcome that. I'll certainly play Elex 2 sometime in the future, but IMHO day one sales of that title needed something BIG to make people need to play it on release. As it is, the ad campaign made it feel like a graphics mod to a game I'd already played.
We all love Piranha Bytes, but let's not forget that people who made up that company 15-20 years ago, when they made Gothic series, are probably all retired or gone to other companies :)
On another point, when it comes to release dates, I think the publisher has the last word there ...

seems like my fears were true... that's a bummer... i was hoping it'll perform well so that we'll get more polished games in the future.
you have to wonder sometimes how multi billion companies can't see the obvious, even when millions of $ are at stake

@@Amfibios Elex 2 was already delayed. I think, original release date was December 2022. I think, Summer 2022 would be a lot better. I think they released some games during the summer too.
@Charlaell Zxaell Can you imagine what would happen to "Ready or Not" if they released it week after something like CoD:MW (2019)? Nobody would even know that game even exists...
After playing through it, I have to say all in all I'm sorely disappointed.
The first hour was hard to get through, the next 15 hours were pleasant and nice.
Why can't I f*** over Rat when given the opportunity with the claws without locking myself out of berserk? Why can't I join the Morkons via the underground group within, which clearly was at one point designed for that purpose? Why do I have to kill 200 enemies in a row as the sole objective in act 4? Piranha Bytes have lost their way and I'm so sad to admit that
They aren't good at making games...it's the truth. They barley improve and the combat is horrible.
Feel the exact same way, amazing how rapidly my mood deteriorated for those later acts (and the climax itself...).
Something like Risen 2 dropped the ball in a lot of regards but also introduced some charm, just have no real excitement for another entry in Elex.
I think the game is great. To answer your questions, you can't expect to join every faction in one playthrough. You can't screw Rat over and expect to get promoted. You can't gain ranks with the Claws if you're siding with Rat. You can't be the Morkon leader if you're already a Berserker. Choices matter in this game... It makes perfect sense to me. Save your game often if you want to branch off with different decisions.

Michael Hoge was the reason for their cult status as a game developer. His departure was the end for Piranha Bytes.

Elex 2 is so janky, broken, buggy, ancient graphic wise and has terrible voice acting. Yesterday I was stuck in the morkon underground in a hanging animation while a npc bounced 20ft up in the air and back down about 3 times a second. BUT I LOVE IT.
My first game ever that I played and completed was Saboteur on ZX Spectrum in 1985, when gameplay was all that mattered.

Piranha Byte's "jank" was endearing at first. But at some point, they really need to figure it out. I like the story and atmosphere of ELEX, but I honestly didn't feel like fighting the game's mechanics.
They probably promised their shareholders this release window a year ago. Before they knew the exact date for Elden Ring.

One way to still turn this around for them is to work and release a comprehensive Mod Tool .. !! 😉 Their exposition time would be infinite

@@FalkFlak Björn often mentioned during German podcasts that this size limitation is self imposed. It's to preserve the dna of the games they create.. but to be fair (to us gamers), for such a thing as a mod environment, they could at least ask their publisher for support.
A mod framework also needs support and for that they need programmers. But leaving that to the publisher may be a good idea.
I'm completely on board with them keeping a low profile, btw. But the scope of the games should reflect that. Last game that worked was Risen 1 and thats a long time ago.
I imagine a reasonable small game world with a lot of intricate details for example. The time of oversized incoherent open worlds nobody ever can explore completely lies behind us all anyway.
I don't think Elden Ring is the main reason tbh.
Elex 2 is really underwhelming. It's like Elex 1 with a coat of paint (which is not even a good coat of paint), and a new map and that's it.
The rest of the game looks and feels exactly the same. It looks like a DLC rather than a second entry.
The jank of the combat and exploration that we all complained about after the first one is still there. The story and setting feel forced to justify putting out another game.
It's not that it was out against a giant, is that Elext 2 is an ant compared to any other game, and Pirahana Bytes made sure of that by not improving basically anything.

Piranha Bytes did the exact same thing with Risen. It released within weeks of Dragon Age Origins.
I played both Elex and Elex 2. I beat both games. And then I played Elex, 2 more times because I enjoyed it. Only my critique for first game would be : That operations centre really sucks it has set up linear outcome they just tells you what to do few quests are lazy and it goes together with main story having 0 freedoms. And second : Jax in cinematic looks cool while in actual game his face looks different. Elex would be superb game I think if it had more exploration, more freedom of choice and less hand-holding experience.
Elex 2 looked like ambitious project who could not live to its potential. The very first thing that made me consider even playing is seing my character face textures just starting game, it is so poorly done! Story and quests are shallow, exploration does not feel rewarded, world in general feels fake and dead. Everywhere you go you know what you can expect and thoss "aliens" are too repetetive. After playing 3-4 hours you see there's nothing new you can expect. I would rate Elex 8/10, Elex 2 5/10

To be honest Elex 1 has been my favorite open world game, despite its many flaws. I'm very much looking forward to Elex 2. With that said, I'm sticking with my policy of not buying any game on release but waiting for a sale, and a whole bunch of patches, before buying it. That goes for every game out there not just Elex 2, haven't bought Elden Ring yet either for that matter and will only buy it when it's on sale too. After watching a bunch of reviewers and people saying Elder Ring's PC port is garbage and that they've suffered horrible performance issues my position is only reinforced.
Patches don't help if the underlying systems (like the bad combat system, the bad camera placement etc.) are the basis for the entire game :(
@@dreamingflurry2729 I know, hence why I said it's my general policy which I employ to all games. In Elex 2's case I highly doubt patches will make much of a difference. Still just in case there will be some improvements, any improvements at all, be it in performance, game balance or wherever else, I'm willing to wait.
@@Owlr4ider I really don't think you'll have much success with Elden Ring being on sale. Sekiro is still 60 bucks despite it being released in 2019, Dark Souls 3 is a game from 2016 and it's still 60 bucks. It's true that these ones do go one sale but it took a few years to get there.
@@ionutluchian9720 I can wait, I have plenty of other games in my library to be played first. Do keep in mind though that I'm waiting for sales not the box price. The box price can remain 60$ even 5 years from now for all I care, as long as they continue to have sales of 50%+ which are increasingly common for slightly older games. I've bought plenty of games on Steam for 70-75% off because I waited 2 years or so, and the same will be true for Elden Ring in 2-3 years' time, hopefully with all the current performance issues on PC being fixed by than.
I loved Elex 1 soooo much!! 160hrs and 3 pt‘s. But Elex 2 omg the whole atmosphere is gone. The challenge is gone. The quests are way worse. Biggest disappointment this year for sure. I just finished Steelrising which is also a small AA studio but they did a fantastic job in comparison
I have 400 hours in Elex, Saw all 3 endings and have all achievements but one. I tried a few times getting into Elex 2, I oculd not. The longest i could get into the game is a little bit over 10 hours.. The combat is annoying, Having an annoying son is annoying, Elex potions without any drawbacks, omg the facial expressions... Totally immersion breaking, I simply cant play this game. All the good things from Elex 1 are gone :-(
Well y'all need to go back and play the first one cause having jumped from it to the second I can say that your completely wrong with everything you said. The quests are more of the same and some are actually better. But you really just wanted an argument so you had to make one up
In their launch FAQ they mentioned it is unfortunate to launch alongside Elden Ring. They simply could not release it before it was finished and there are always big titles coming out anyway. For me personally: I could not care less about Elden Ring but was eagerly anticipating Elex 2. I am not even a long time Pirana Bytes fan. Elex 1 was the first game I played from them. I think most player like either Elden Ring or Elex - people who like both are probably a very tiny minority.
I like both and play both. They are enjoyable and have what i like in a game, just wish elden ring had way more creatures to fight.

@@Quitarstudentif you can play Gothic there is no reason as why you can't play elex. Get over yourself the game gets way better you just gotta stick through I gave up about 15 hours in but came back a year later and stuck through it and it ended up being one of my favorite games
It's a weird game... but somehow I actually enjoy it- I look at as if it was an older rpg and under no circumstances compare it to other games available today. Doing that, this game is actually fun for me.

Honestly, releasing in Feburary/March 2022 is the worst decision they could've made. You had Lost Ark on 11th which is what i've been playing, then on 24th Elden Ring and then Elex on 1st March. There is more than enough to play in those 2 months, had they released it in January, where i had literally nothing to play and was replaying other games, I would've 100% played Elex 2, especially since i really liked the first one. Like this tho, I'm not sure when i'm gonna play Elex 2 but it will definitely be when i'm burned out on other games half a year+ down the line.
I love elex 1 and im sure i’ll love this one but im still playing through Elden ring and would play through forbidden west after..the release date was not ideal for this game.
I think the marketing sucked. I follow gaming at a casual level looking and always hoping for games like ELEX for console. Somehow this slipped under my radar when I did learn of it I was under the impression it was only for PC as many games like this are.
As I’m scrolling through the PlayStation store one day desperate for something new to play I see ELEX 1 for sale, so I do a manual search and find ELEX 2.
Good marketing would have been pumping this game in my face.
Like you mentioned the launch release window was terrible and might have had something to do with the marketing because I’ve been force fed Elden Ring ads constantly for weeks.
Hi, I want to say that the constitution attribute is also bugged. You can basically increase your health just by allocate/deallocating AP into it without confirming the allocation !!!
I've been playing Elex II and I only got the first one like 4 months ago. I like it. Neat world with neat concepts.

I play almost all games from Piranha Bytes from Gothic to Risen 1,2,3 and Elex. I like it, the story are a bit cheesy but It's not that bad.

This upset me, too, as I'm also highly into Piranha Bytes' games. I love Elex, as well, so I pre-ordered Elex 2. But I noticed that, with all the pre-orders in the same month, the release date was too clustered with other big releases. Not only Elden Ring, but days before that was Horizon Forbidden West, another open world game with RPG elements. Hopefully it'll pick up in sales, 'cause methinks some people are also waiting for patches on Elex 2.
I mean there was Dying Light basically a week before that too lol. Way too many heavy hitters. Especially since NOBODY has fully completed Elden Ring yet. I think Elex will recoup its money as the budget stayed relatively the same as the first game. ELEX 1 was 6 million and Elex 2 secured 15 million but I doubt they used more than 8 million so they could make money.
They coudl take a time to fix bugs and glitches, eventually we will play this when we have our fill with those games that got out
I got no problems with camera or face or whatever could i play it atleast....with my Vega graphiccard all i see are clouds....iam a huge gothic/risen and Elex fan and this hurts a lot and still cant find any fix for it ;/

I am a fan of the game and their previous works. BUT even so, I did not know that the game had released until 4 days after it's release. Horrible marketing
I got Gothic2 for my birthday a few days after the release. All other PB games I bought directly. I love Gothic2 and Risen. But after those games the PB Formular got lost and what I liked in those titles has been lost. 8 haven't bought Elex 2. It's the first PB game I won't buy for a while.
I love Elex 2 BUT only problem I have is one not seeing anyone mention. I can't do anything in the inventory screen without it locking me in the inventory screen in inventory he77 unable to get back into the game and having to reset. Thats infuriating.
Also February was packed with game releases as well i liked the first one even though i die way to much lol and i became a fan of the company i would love it as well if they get more attention because we need more games like them
I started Elex 1 again. I need to finish it before Elex 2. I own Elden Ring too but not played it yet.
I thought it was pretty high up the list of top sellers on steam and remember you are also not accounting for console players which could well be in the majority. I think it’s a pretty needlessly negative video tbh. Obviously it’s never going to do as well as Elden Ring but that’s a totally different game with a much higher budget and projected sales. I think they can be very proud of Elex 2, I’m loving it so far.
Picked up the first game on sale today, and put three hours into it. It's honestly great, like a low budget Witcher or Mass effect

I'd have loved this game... Ten years ago. I think Greedfall was the last Eurojank game I'll play thoroughly. Competition is so high at the moment (and it's not going to get better in march). I feel bad for pyrhana bytes and spider, because those are two developpers I've really grown found of, but I'm just past these clanky games.

@@savagemantis9060 I found out about it on a stream made my American guys, and I actually find it... Quite accurate. Despite it sounding quite negative, I think it emphasises the idea of developers with a small AA budget trying to make more things than many AAA games are doing, resulting in this game always feeling both great and... Unpolished, if not unachieved.

It is absolutely madness to go against Elden Ring. Not only ER is an action RPG and a From Software game, it is the first true open world they ever did, and with George R R Martin collaboration. Any game even a little bit similar would be destroyed. The focus on quests/choices and consequences Elex have is too little to escape the slaughter. Even fricking Zelda would have a hard time!
You couldn't tell Martin did a dang thing in that game so he's not a big element to the success. Heck, he was a downside for me when buying the game.

agreed for the release date.. I didn't buy it yet because of Elden Ring - I'll wait for some patches and then hop into.. Loved original Elex.
I think that amount of views depends on advertisement. That is why some trailers have 3M views and some only few k views.
The problems I see, first of all they don't have any dev-videos like other small studios. If you look at their channel (Piranha Bytes) - 20 minutes long videos with EN subtitles - 4 K views. Also a few months back, an Archolos came out. Players that grew up on gothic games don't have so much time as before (unles they are content creators), for new players it's unknown game. That is my opinion, why it is a disaster.

Dying Light 2 - 4.02.2022 which i currently play + Elden Ring 25.02.2022 which is waiting to be next. Really bad timing for Elex 2 to come out. Elex 2 is my 3 game on list to play.

Piranha Bytes have their own player base so it's fine. I'm really happy that they are still making old school style Singleplayer RPG. I don't care or give a shit about any games from FromSoftware. I play DS1 a long time ago and that's it, I'm not masochist. Elden Ring doesn't interest me at all but Elex II is.
yup. Releasing Elex2 around Elden ring really doesnt matter much. PB games are mostly for people who enjoyed the other titles
I am another huge fan of their games, but sadly I can't play this due to bug with the vega graphics (I only have 5700g to play games). Heres hoping fix will come soon.

Releasing this when Elden Ring and Lost Ark came out (and to a lesser extent Dying Light 2 and Horizon 2) was really a dumb move, there is too much to play currently. I love PB and will play Elex 2 for sure, but maybe only in half a year or so...

Eh, that's THQs problem. They are a big publisher, they will pay Piranha Bytes either way. Perhaps they didn't really care for Elex 2 selling way and just relied on the established fanbase.
Tinfoil hat theory says they deliberately released it alongside Elden Ring because they knew the game was bad, so it wouldn't be bought by too many people people get get awful reviews 😂
It COULD be that people are playing Elden Ring first and will play this once they are done with that. But that's probably not going to be enough. This really needed a Steam banner on top when it released.
I can't get it to play without stuttering, I'm running it on a 6800xt! I think I'm gonna have to refund it and try it out later they patch it.
Gothic 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Cant really explaine what it was with that game that clicked so much with me. I liked Elex 1. Currently playing Elden Ring, but I bought Elex 2 at release just to support the team. I`m gonna play it after Elden Ring and Forbidden West, so lets say in about 6 months :P
I'm was playing Elden Ring and then switched to Elex 2. I barely scratched the surface of Elden Ring but I have to be like 80% of the way through Elex and haven't felt like finishing it.
The reason I and all of my friends (who are also big piranhabytes fans) don't play this game is that we don't have the hardware to play it. Most of us don't own an actual PC anymore. I was lucky I being able to play Elex1 on the lowest resolutions. Most of the fans are grown in age and have a family by now. Lots of them would play the game if it was easy to access but they would never buy expensive hardware just for this one game.
So Elex2 ist the first PB-game that I watch as a letsplay on youtube instead doing it myself.
I miss the boys: Gorn, Milton, Lester, Diego, Lee, Wolf and of course Mud. All better character than ones in Elex 2 imo.
Well these numbers are the number of players right? Not number of sold copies? I bought Elex I in September 2018. I played it January 2022 :-) Regretted that I had not played it before though... Other than Elex 1 & 2, I have only played Risen to the end. I also have Risen 2 (tried to play it once last year, but then I switched to some more modern game) and Risen 3 (not played at all, yet), and the Gothic series where I played Gothic 3 some, but didn't find the time to continue. I got Gothic 2 running now, so perhaps I try this or perhaps I should to Gotic 1 if I can get that to work too. So I have bought the games, not played them all though :-)
Low sales and low player numbers are the kinds of things that lead to the project getting canned, the worst part is that those were the consequences of THQ/PB own decision to release this game right next to one of the most hyped games of all time, seconded by only CP2077. To make matters worse, like C4G said, they are part of the same genre. That coupled with the poor technical performance of the game and the lack of FOV slider at launch just lead to such a bad look for PB and Elex 2.
All THQ Games feel kinda like a good meant dish without salt and pepper. They lost Quality and Time for their products since years look at saints row,.
I pre order it for series X just for the support to piranha. I won't play till some months from now.
Feels to me like they've echo-chambered Elex 2 to death.
Maybe they were thinking they had a solid fan base that'd come through no matter what the market conditions were and convincing themselves that the IP had some TES tier status it never.
I can't say I'm a huge fan but all I hear and see has "Elden Ring" written over it, can't remember I even saw an Elex 2 advert.
Maybe they're planning on letting the game permeate into the market overtime rather than have a big Alpha strike, time will tell.

i think elex 1 was released at a good time when steam was going through a dry spell. And elex 2 just looks like more of elex 1 and we all probably remember how mediocre elex 1 was so we dont really feel like making the investment right now. Maybe when its like 4 dollars
The high view numbers are probably generated by the fact that THQ placed the videos as advertising. If you look at the fact that they have disproportionately few likes to views. So the interest in Elex 2 was probably never really there...
Why did they release next to elden ring. Thats why I'm not playing this. I'm interested but next to elden ring? Hell no.
I've bought this on PS5, but if I was going to play on PC like I did Elex 1, I would wait as this has Humble Choice written all over it now.

I actually havent even heard about Elden Ring until it came out. I like the Souls games but not enough to really get hyped over it. Maybe when it goes on sale I'll try it. Hype is just a marketing tool and I don't really care especially with AAA titles. I am playing through Elex again and when I'm done I'll probably buy Elex 2. Especially if it goes on sale which if it's sales numbers are that bad it will.
Yeah, both games are worth buying and playing. I dont care, i enjoy games and look past the bad crap. Good story for elex 2, good worlds, for both games, only issue i have is with elden ring....they need mpre monsters. A whole lot more and more bosses. Just a giant world with a small amount of creatures to fight. Elex 2 has a lot more people and creatures to fight.
The crazy thing is i went to trade a game in for elden ring but they had no copys left in store so i bought a gift card then got home went onto the xbox store to buy elden ring but saw elex 2 there and was shocked, big problem there was legit zero advertisement for the game had no idea it was coming out, had played the 1st elex and loved it so knew sheit its either this or elden ring and thought well id have more fun with elex 2 and less stress so went with that as the purchase. Gotta say very happy with the game on series x it looks great and runs great, thq fault for not advertising the game as if more people had known this was coming out a couple days later they would of got it, plus yes the lack of updates or word from devs is a problem but so far after 36 hours on series x no problems beats any fallout game since the originals.
