Thank you for this. I followed it to the T while playing I had it open before me and kept on pausing. Saving. Pausing the game. Saving. Unpausing the video. I really appreciate this video. Helped me so much.
BRO! You deserve WAAAY more subs! Great video! :D I love all pyranha bytes games really!! Gothic, elex, risen..great games really! Ofcourse each "flawed" in a way..but gothic 1 &2 and risen 1 and elex are really masterpiece in their own right
What I would actually reccomend that anyone would do to get really op really quick would be to commit to the berserkers at the start of the game for the sole purpose of their weapon enchantments and melee buffing spells. Most of the game is spent fighting things close up, so having the best faction for melee strength is ideal for the strongest start. The first thing you should do is go through some of the beginning quests in the game which grinds up 2k to 5k elexit(most of it comes from ragnar paying you for doing some missions) which is a relitvely small amount at the start, but it's all you really need. The next thing you should do has to do with attribute and skill points. The first 2 attributes you should focus on at the start would be animal trophies and haggler. Animal trophies perk allows you to get extra components and valuable animal parts from the mutants you kill, as well as bonus xp. The haggler skill allows you to sell items for more elexit and buy items for less elexit. When you level up, make sure you put the attribute points into the correct trait that's required for the two skills I mentioned above. With the elexit you already have, you can purchase a basic hachet or broadsword from the weapons trader in goliet which should get the job done against most low level mutants like critters, mass rats, spinehounds, and even Raptors. If you mutant farm for a half hour using this method you can make 10 to 20k elexit easy. If you want this method to be more effective against all mutants, you should find someone who sells the recipe to elex drinks, specifically large and regular elex drinks. Caldrim in the mana shrine should have it available to purchase. It costs 4 natural elex and 2 liquor to make an elex potion, but each potion gives you 2 attribute points. To get the ingredients I reccomend using the profits from mutant farming and traveling to the camp in the center(if you dont know where it is, it is north of goliet in abessa, there should be a map online showing where it is) and donate 3k shards to hire a trader in the camp. The special little secret behind this trader is that his stock refreshes every time you exit the shop menu, so you can repetitively buy liquor and natural elex from him and he will never run out of it. Using this method to make countless elex potions can grant you the ability to max out your stats at level 5 or below, but this takes some time because you have to farm the mutants for the elexit to buy the ingredients. But the overall goal is making a solid base for your character to start making huge profit at the beginning in less than an hour of gameplay.
Also I ran the numbers on the specific amount of materials you need to max out your stats with and you need 1,400 liquor and 2,800 natural elex to make the neccessary amount of elex potions
That “merchant trick” re: inventory is true of all merchants. Not just the one for the Clerics. And since a money glitch exists in the game, Haggler is a wasted skill.
@@GR8Trollio the merchant in the middle is the best to do that regardless just because of the amount of elex and liquor he sells per instance vs all the other traders. I am aware of the money glitch though, this is just a xp method I found without abusing game mechanics
Man. You out here doing god's work. I know this was years ago. But I've tried to get into Elex abt five times. I really like the style, atmosphere, and I even enjoy the janky combat...but I would always get stuck in the beginning because I was so weak. With Elex 2 Coming out soon, I wanted to give this game a fair shake. This guide was easy to follow and I got a ton of useful info just from you talking throughout the process. Thanks. Like really.
It was my very first tempt at a video guide, I'm glad it was helpful to at least some people. Piranhabytes games are notoriously difficult at the start
Pretty good video, I have different opinions about stat investment but that's preference. My first play through and it took me closer to two hours to do this but that's simply because you don't know where to go and you have to kind of play and pause back and forth to this video. One thing he doesn't say and I guess should probably be self evident once you get to the finish point of this video, make a hard save. I guess if you never plan to do more than one play through you won't need it, there's no NG+ in this game though so if you decide you want to do a new play through and maybe try a different faction or story ending being able to start from this save spot will save you having to do all this again.
A MUCH EASIER WAY TO TAKE THE SUNGLASSES: Early in the game, follow Duras to town, find the trainer who can upgrade your pickpocketing skill by one (spending 1 skill point), and after that just pickpocket him (or someone near - I do't remember exactly) to get the sunglasses. To pickpocket someone you have to sneak behind him, or when he is sleeping and make sure nobody watches you.
There’s jewelry that gives you the basic skill to pickpocket and lock pick, another amulet gives both but idk where I found them. Great tip on the sunglasses
Following your video I found a Chainsword 1 in the pit right near the tower with the explosive arrows before you teleported back to home. I let them aggro on Arx then looted and jetpacked up to the pipes then tp'd.
I missed the Adventurer Amulet and the bow on my first playthrough. Found your guide having spent a couple of hours faffing around in Goliat and didn't realise how important the amulet was until I went to pick the lock on the armour chest!
Hey man Thanks for this! Every other video about early game is convoluted clap trap! Just what I needed after my first try yesterday that resulted in me travelling miles only to get constantly buggered by a group of outlaws. I'm so pissed at them I intend on following this guide then immediately returning to exact my revenge before getting stuck into this.
From what I understand the guide is a little out of date from some rebalances but it's not terribly out-of-date I think it still viable. I'm thinking of uploading a new one. If you can't find the sunglasses at the top of that windmill could you leave a response. So far only one person says they haven't found it and I think they just went to the wrong place. Arx now uses a one-handed and shield instead of a two-hander

1st I would like to thank you kind sir, for taking the time to make this video, it will definitely help me with my very first playthrough of this awesome game! 2nd I think the devs secretly like the idea of people raging out and smashing a controller or punching a hole in a wall. Lol! It took me an hour to get the sunglasses and it was only because Jax just seemed to enjoy bouncing off the platform for no reason upon landing! It was super frustrating, and no I didnt break anything, but I wanted to. On the upside, after pulling that shit off, there cant be much that will piss me off like climbing that wind turbine. 😎
Great video! I just wish you would've shown the locations on the map for the chest armor. And the starting point after we get the glasses. I got all turned around and lost trying to follow along with you!
seeing items through walls might be usefull, but I found glases that makes me see enemies on the minimap long before I encounter them (sixth sense) now thats a way how to sneak through the map ;) very good item...makes my life super easy
On the way to the sword at the end I found a outlaw fighting a berserker. Was able to pick up two axes, one with the same attack as the sword one with better. And they go of con so if you are already boosting con for something else this makes more sense than the sword.
It depends if it's a PS5 exclusive. I don't plan on getting a PS5 I plan on getting the next Xbox. Currently I run a PS4 Pro still, the last month I upgraded it with a 860 Pro SSD and I can even run cyberpunk at solid frames with no issues or glitches. i have owned and played every piranha bytes game released in the West. If it's designed to work with PS4 architecture in mind, you can expect I will play the game I will rage at it I will get better at it I will beat it and then I will make a video. And I've become more savvy with TH-cam editing, so it won't be as rough as this which is one of my earliest videos At the moment I am just absolutely in love with dragon's dogma dark arisen. Which gives off a heavy risen one feel. It is not a generic RPG, it is misunderstood and the trailers don't do it justice. If you have a PC PS4 or switch, I think it's also on Xbox. I highly suggest picking it up. Dragon's dogma is absolutely fatastic. I own it for the switch and the PS4 so I can play it when I'm out and about or when I'm sitting in my aviary with my birds.
Do you have other tips after this one for how to progress as a berserker after all this I just got the sunglasses now going for other things thanks for these tips I was dieing way to much before
Elex was never really hard if you're familiar with PB games. Same ruleset as Gothic/Risen. I played this gem immediately after I finished my Witcher 3 playthrough (which I was late with and took me about 250 hours) and I had a blast without looking stuff up on the interwebs. Elex, for me, lasted me round and about 120 hours and I loved every minute. Didn't even join a faction 'till the 60 hour mark. Now that is worth the full pricetag. Can't wait for the sequel.
@@derisathartfelt Hey there, I'm considering buying this game for the Ps4Pro and because you played it there, I want to ask you this: Does Elex run in 30 or 60fps on the Ps4pro? I didn't really find anything in the internet regarding this topic so maybe you know. Thanks in advance.
Really wish your voice was a little higher on the original video as its hard to hear you while I'm playing the game AND watching this on my phone at the same time.
I found a pack leader Raptor near the Berserker camp. I fought it very early with a pipe. Edit: Without a follower. I reloaded again and again until I could do it without taking a hit. Took me a while, but it's how I learned the combat system. Enemies so far seem to have at least two attacks. One that they do when you're close, and an approach attack to close distance. Keep in mind that you can learn an enemies attack by watching them fight a follower, or someone else. Just watch how they move, and what attacks they use.
@Siddhartha RC I agree with you on stamina management! If you use a shield, the heavy attack becomes a shield bash. I use this on enemies that won't stagger from my weapon. Bash them to the ground and then switch to your light attack to swing your weapon. I like the combat system, but wish they gave you a bit more stamina to start with. But it is an rpg. So your beginning stats keep you from fighting the bigger enemies with very large stamina pools. At first I was under the impression that this was a completely skill based combat system like Bound by Flame or Technomancer. Both games have great responsive and fluid combat in my opinion. Elex feels clumsy in comparison.
@Siddhartha RC If you get too far from certain enemies or jetpack away, they will use a ranged attack. If you get too close, their attacks are quick and hard to dodge. Try staying around 6-10 ft away. They will most likely use a rush attack that is easier to see. Dodge diagonally towards them to avoid it, and get behind them. Timing is everything. Time it right and you avoid damage. You can also lure enemies away from a group to fight. I do this all the time.
There is no such thing as Elex potion abuse. They are there for a reason, and to be taken even in abnormal amounts. Every dialog cold decrease equals 10 Elex potions and it is probably the best way to level up the stats requirements, though it is darn expensive to do. In my purely emotional playtrough i've took over 300 Elex potions and still have had 0 cold at the end. Unless of course, you are talking about a real game mechanics abuse i'm not aware of.
Well for me, elex Potions are abuse. You get too much Nature Elex from Monters/Machines or can buy unlimited almound from npc. So you can have maxed out statts and not having any cold issue. But ppl want too easy game and excuse for themselves. 300 Elex Potions are 500 statts and 50 free skill points. Not having the free statts you gonna rly think about how to play and what weapons/perks to use. Not just have all maxed out.
and the i go up here and stuff and QUICK NOTE AT THIS POINT YOU DONT HAVE TO REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the Audio Levels just ruined my Smoking sesh but its aight
W8 I FOLOWED YOU GUIDE TIL 34 09 now face to face with arx hideout in the green pasture there is a house with a mob kill the mob and enter you will find a chest with miner pants in it :)
I know this is old, but just got Elex, liking it so far, but it is tough! Playing on normal. Just wanted to say, when ur like, did I equip my pants? At first I thought u said if u shit ur pants lmao. Good vid very helpful!
The beginning tho. 2 things, you never went back on the elevator. (It is possible tho, I've done it) And the dude in the beginning that's "supposed to help you LOL, just stood their watching get your ass beat. A.I needs an update, they need a buff in detection cone.
Well I am missing some stuff like : 10 Dex Amulet (also killing exp perk) , Steal skill Amulet, Quest Exp Amulet, Book Reading Amulet, 10 Dex Ring or 5 dex 5 str ring. This stuff you can get in about 10-15 mins. I made a save game, where I collected all the usefull things not even walking to town with Duras.
I played this on PC but it keeps freezing but with audio still working. It happened after i met Duras and when I decided to go to the ruins. I was wondering if such game breaking bugs also happen in PS4? If not, I might buy and play it on consoles instead.
Yes, this as spoiler free as possible. Ideally you would return back in front of goilet and continue with the story as you see fit. I went as far out of my way as I did to avoid Ray.
I wish your video had time stamps to relevant bits. I'm not gonna sit through an hour of mostly things I've already played through. I just want to know where to get the stuff. :D
Moshugaani I have no idea how to do any of that. All I have is my PS4 in my mobile phone. Someone in the comments posted timestamps at some point but then I think they deleted their post and I don't know why. The reason why I recorded the full travel time. Is because the route I take avoids Agro ranges of certain one-hit-kill monsters and story NPC triggers.
Ah, I understand! The simplest way to post time stamps is to just write times like this: *Marking the map for the companion Arx:* 27:25 TH-cam will automatically make the time a link that will jump you to the same time in the video. I dunno if that works in the description, but you could make a comment with the timestamps and then pin that comment so it always shows at the top of the comments. ;)
Man I haven't finished watching this video but I am think of restarting my game and do what he is doing but the problem is that I have put 8 hours in the game and I don't even have half Rolf what does
I haven't played it since I went through my third run. There was a bug in the game that kept me from getting the trophy for beating the game as a Outlaw. And I just never went back. The bugs probably fixed by now but I've moved on.
Ahh, this is good to know. I was in too much of a hurry because on the first try one of the hostile Albs came at us, so on the second try I just took what I could, got up on the windmill and then ran for it as fast as we could immediately when we were back on the ground.
The Adventures of your followers is they can take a severe beating and they don't Perma die during a fight meaning they get back up. Your followers make almost no difference in combat strength after your level 20 ish. You should keep them around for role-playing or quests of whatever you like to match your characters decisions. The album companion at the get-go has just a solid weapon, and he requires almost nothing to obtain. Everyone else requires sidequest through difficult areas. Really game definitely go with the album companion. And use him to find the companion to think you get along with most. To get duras you have to do quite a bit of berserker bullshit
You might not believe it but there's a quest from Sestak where you can find every conceivable ally in the game. Helpful if you are starting out. The problem is that the first time you don't get told about it, you accidently find it at the start. I did find on my 10th run. As for best ally? It's a hard call as they are all strong but there are good benefits for some. U4: gets you natural flex Caja: helps you find elexit pockets for extra elexit Each companion has their own individual quest, each with a unique reward.
In the area where you first start the game, when you first wake up. Is a necklace charm that will give you a +1 lock picking. You'll see me pick it up during the beginning
Extra hp and stamina in stats, plus there are skills like extra HP and extra stamina that'll help you take a few blows from stronger enemies. Trust me, you WILL encounter one or more enemies that'll kill you in a second. Also the stats are need to wear armour, blunt weapons or shields.
The adventurers amulet has 1 rank in lockpick, its near the very start of the video. I also realised the password to the locked safe in the shack under the sunglasses is etched into locker door, I missed that.

Awesome video man. Thank you. The grenade didn't show up for me but other then that it was great
Awesome Video, Thanks a Bunch for the tips!
Thanks a lot, man. Now my Jax is a freakin' badass. The game is soo much easier now on normal difficulty.
Thanks you helped me out so much with this I wish you would have did some more videos on this
Their's a pair of sunglasses on your way to armature the water plant with the three dead clairs.
Awesome video buddy! But I want more 😂
Why does this guy not have more subscribers 🤷🏼♂️
now that ELEX 2 was announced I wonder what he's gonna do
It depends if it's a PS5 exclusive.
And I've become more savvy with TH-cam editing, so it won't be as rough as this which is one of my earliest videos
At the moment I am just absolutely in love with dragon's dogma dark arisen. Which gives off a heavy risen one feel. It is not a generic RPG, it is misunderstood and the trailers don't do it justice. If you have a PC PS4 or switch, I think it's also on Xbox. I highly suggest picking it up. Dragon's dogma is absolutely fatastic. I own it for the switch and the PS4 so I can play it when I'm out and about or when I'm sitting in my aviary with my birds.
question what's on top of the radio tower by the ruins? Also on top of ruins you'll find a quiver of arrows if you didn't know.
Its been over a year, a ring lots of explosives. Loads of materials.
Do you have other tips after this one for how to progress as a berserker after all this I just got the sunglasses now going for other things thanks for these tips I was dieing way to much before
The sunglasses can be also found in the berserker camp from one of the vendors
But not free
Thank you so much for your help this video was a big help for me I subscribe and turn on the Bell
Never patched Bow jamming i see "Dumb Dev treat bow like a gun Bows don't Jam... "only fix un equip re equip sadly.....
Great Video. Thanks for your Work.
Tips: When attacking a Fighting Colossus, spam hand granades, its really effective. Not only it knocks it down, but does a nice good chunk of damage.
Not sure how I missed you picking up the lockpicking skill. I can't open the chest with the armor at about 42 min.
There's a lock picking necklace early on in the video that gives a plus one
@@derisathartfelt Thank you!
Thanks a lot buddy.. very helpful video!
Thanks for the tips! Extremely helpful! Subscribed too btw
You have to train under a trainer to get XP from reading on consul
I really wish he had shown us a map of where to start for the chainsaber. I have no idea where the Eden teleporter is
I still always use sunglasses, even though the armor bonus has been patched and is now 0.
Really wish your voice was a little higher on the original video as its hard to hear you while I'm playing the game AND watching this on my phone at the same time.
36:20 the code from the safe is on the inside door from the locker, but he said i don't think i can open the safe :D
No body is perfect
How you get your brightness that high. Mines a joke. It’s like I’m walking round in darkness.
This has helped so much been getting my ass kicked 😩
I found a pack leader Raptor near the Berserker camp. I fought it very early with a pipe.
Edit: Without a follower.
I reloaded again and again until I could do it without taking a hit. Took me a while, but it's how I learned the combat system.
Enemies so far seem to have at least two attacks. One that they do when you're close, and an approach attack to close distance.
Keep in mind that you can learn an enemies attack by watching them fight a follower, or someone else.
Just watch how they move, and what attacks they use.
@Siddhartha RC
I agree with you on stamina management!
@Siddhartha RC
If you get too far from certain enemies or jetpack away, they will use a ranged attack.
I feel like he pain. Is Dark Souls meets open world modern style Darksiders.
How do u equip weapon with level 3 stats ..gonna need to level up to use
this helps out a lot, thanks man.
and the i go up here and stuff and
QUICK NOTE AT THIS POINT YOU DONT HAVE TO REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
the Audio Levels just ruined my Smoking sesh but its aight
Dude I fucking know
W8 I FOLOWED YOU GUIDE TIL 34 09 now face to face with arx hideout in the green pasture there is a house with a mob kill the mob and enter you will find a chest with miner pants in it :)
What about character customization?
there's none. You're a bald cold killer at the start. You don't get any character customization
thank you, very helpful
This game seems like playing Fallout/skyrim in 3rd person at all times. but on hard difficulty. and i loved Bethesda games.. (apart from the bugs)
I know this is old, but just got Elex, liking it so far, but it is tough! Playing on normal. Just wanted to say, when ur like, did I equip my pants? At first I thought u said if u shit ur pants lmao. Good vid very helpful!
🤣
The beginning tho. 2 things, you never went back on the elevator. (It is possible tho, I've done it)
And the dude in the beginning that's "supposed to help you LOL, just stood their watching get your ass beat.
No there's no bug like that. Besides the very heavy hit on performance even on the PS4 Pro, the game is stable and bug free. Has been since launch
What happens if you don't cold enough when you talk to arc willnh3 not join you?
he'll always join you as far as i recall. it's his companion quest later that utilizes your cold rating.
i notice you skip things like ray and the goliet, is this video good for joining any faction after your set up?
Yes, this as spoiler free as possible. Ideally you would return back in front of goilet and continue with the story as you see fit. I went as far out of my way as I did to avoid Ray.
@@derisathartfelt cool thanks I'm going to give it a go
Awesome guide man
I wish your video had time stamps to relevant bits.
The simplest way to post time stamps is to just write times like this:
*Marking the map for the companion Arx:* 27:25
TH-cam will automatically make the time a link that will jump you to the same time in the video.
I dunno if that works in the description, but you could make a comment with the timestamps and then pin that comment so it always shows at the top of the comments. ;)
The video was still helpful, btw. Thanks! I didn't watch the whole thing, but I managed to find the parts I wanted by jumping around. :)
Man I haven't finished watching this video but I am think of restarting my game and do what he is doing but the problem is that I have put 8 hours in the game and I don't even have half Rolf what does
I meant don't even have half of what he does
Thank you sir, you totally rock! I was super struggling and now I'm not.
Freaking subbed, respect to you
Actually, your voice is very nice. No worries.
I haven't played it since I went through my third run. There was a bug in the game that kept me from getting the trophy for beating the game as a Outlaw. And I just never went back.
The bugs probably fixed by now but I've moved on.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, you never move on.
Oof
very random comment and kind of off putting for viewers...
Lol the code for the safe under the windmill was on the locker door.
yeah i noticed that on rewatch lol
Ahh, this is good to know. I was in too much of a hurry because on the first try one of the hostile Albs came at us, so on the second try I just took what I could, got up on the windmill and then ran for it as fast as we could immediately when we were back on the ground.
Great Vid bud, much appreciated :D
Good vid, no BS!
Great video 👍. Who’s the best follower at the beginning for quests/story missions? Also if I dismiss a follower can I get him back again? Thanks
lamboUK if you dismiss a follower they will go to the camp site near the beginning of the video where I died the first time
The Adventures of your followers is they can take a severe beating and they don't Perma die during a fight meaning they get back up.
Derisat Hartfelt thanks for the advice 👍
You might not believe it but there's a quest from Sestak where you can find every conceivable ally in the game. Helpful if you are starting out. The problem is that the first time you don't get told about it, you accidently find it at the start. I did find on my 10th run.
As for best ally? It's a hard call as they are all strong but there are good benefits for some.
U4: gets you natural flex
Caja: helps you find elexit pockets for extra elexit
Each companion has their own individual quest, each with a unique reward.
Question..... Where does your character put all those Items?????
thank you sooo much.. THANK YOU
Following guide took just over 2 hours since I had to follow it to the letter so to speak.
How did he get the lockpicking skill to get the chest armor?
In the area where you first start the game, when you first wake up. Is a necklace charm that will give you a +1 lock picking. You'll see me pick it up during the beginning
Thank you and i love u 😂
Thank you
Thanks for that!!
"Teleporter at the Edan Place" Where the hell is that?
This games starts you out really weak.
hehe, you forgot to check your audio levels before recording your long walk-through... (been there)
Why all point into endurance ?
hp
Extra hp and stamina in stats, plus there are skills like extra HP and extra stamina that'll help you take a few blows from stronger enemies. Trust me, you WILL encounter one or more enemies that'll kill you in a second.
Also the stats are need to wear armour, blunt weapons or shields.
thanks, this seems helpful
How are you able to lockpick if you haven't been inside the first city?
The adventurers amulet has 1 rank in lockpick, its near the very start of the video. I also realised the password to the locked safe in the shack under the sunglasses is etched into locker door, I missed that.
I just turned off stamina in difficulty settings it makes game much more enjoyable tbh :P
Yeah I don't think it launched that way. But I've gone back to get my Platinum during quarantine and when I saw that I was pleasantly surprised
