Huge thanks. Is the "bad kitty" part of the captions lmao
Wow, that ancient oil press really was a genius design. The entire process was fascinating! Thank you for sharing :)
Very detailed example of why it was traditionally sourced from animals. The amount of labor for the volume of oil is extravagant.
That pretty well sums up most traditional Eastern techniques.
So the Romans and Greeks were wrong in producing Olive Oil ?
@@billrich9722 Don't get twisted kid! Similar methods was also used by the Europeans.
@@Muaythai4life304 "Kid".
How petty.
@@billrich9722 "That pretty well sums up most traditional Eastern techniques."
How ignorant.
5:50 Kitty was adding flavour to oil. 😂😂
😂😂😂😹😹😹😹😹🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀💩💩💩💩💩💩
glad i'm not the only one that noticed that! 🤣
No, he's the supervisor. The other cat does quality control.
A simple, honest, peaceful, noble way of life. Lovely.
You will gain a lot more western viewers if you put English text next to the Chinese text in your videos
You’re assuming they speak English… some places dont…shocking
@@RandomMiscShit they put an English title on their videos didn't they? Someone on their team obviously knows some English
No need...if western want to understand they will find way for it
Im not western..but i want english too😅
@@akoyaja1625Има људи, као ја, као многи, који не знају баш са новом технологијом, а занимају их управо овакви видеи.

How has this channel not exploded? He is amazing!
kurang promosi ke media sosial lain. tapi ada yang bilang jika di media China dia sudah memperoleh jutaan pengikut, hanya di TH-cam yang masih kurang.
Cos no English subtitle

This channel imo in the eyes of a Chinese is making too hard an effort to pretend the ancient living style, some overdone
tr;dl: it's CCP propaganda! the cultural revolution, launched by Mao Zedong in 1966 and lasted until his death in 1976, entirely wiped out millennia of Chinese culture.
this is a bullshit re-enactment, trying to milk empqathy from the recent interest in traditional japanese crafts. while the CC burned all it's roots, and incinerated all wholesome, ancient traditions
5:50 Kitty about to do number 2 on that pile of seeds.
cats do nr 1 this way aswell.
Tell in in normal words not american…
@@sjefhendrickx2257 contrary your believes 'american' uses also words to explain what it means... grow up baby
Those plants grow here too, in the UK. It's called Oil Seed Rape, and you get a lot of oil from it, plus the oil is used in many ways here in the UK. I didn't know it originated in the East. Fascinating video. Thank you for showing us this process.
It's first cultivated 2000 bc in India around 35 bc in china so it's not originated in east
Please use "r word" instead of referring to it by its full name, it can be triggering to other viewers thanks t❤
Очень познавательно!
Такой долгий процесс подготовки в те времена, и как это всё делается сейчас - разница невероятная
Son miles miles de años de tradición esa es la buen cultura de un verdadero país
I love your videos, I dislike videos with loud music and words, I enjoy watching you work in silence. Keep up the good work.
5:48 looks like the cat was about to lay down a brown crayon in the seeds
And not the Crayola kind.

Bro thinks cats can draw 💀
Seeing just how time-consuming and labour-intensive making something as simple as vegetable oil used to be helps me to appreciate how much better my situation is compared to those who lived in the past.
This is absolutely beautiful. Perfection beyond words.
Thank you so much for this.
I look forward to every upload this channel has to offer.
I love these traditional manufacturing methods . Very harmonious.
I am from India. I have never imagined that oil is alsonextracted by squeezing wodden logs. A very ingenuous way. Thanks for staring
Merci ! Votre pratique me rappelle mon enfance...

6:20 My grandfather had such a device in the barn. I didn't know what its purpose was at that time.
If you can put the Chinese + other languages . That is a very awesome press . I have never seen a press done that way . More work than a crew press . Thanks for sharing . Awesome to see traditional crafts . Yes where you live that's normal . Where I come from it would be traditional crafts .

Greetings from the Netherlands...
This video was very well done and extremely informative. Thank you.
Coolest of the cool my friend. I really do enjoy seeing you work with the old tools( not modern). You give a real sense how people used to work
I could really use someone like you on my team. I feel your skill would be a good use in medicine.
You deserve my subscribe.
Good quality video
Lovely. And very historic. The mill works very different from a western mill, interesting.
Love your videos. Thanks for posting.
Great way to stay in shape!
Amazing view from village
Some things don’t need translation. This is far more of a foundation for modern society. We should go learn how to do this before being able to go order French fries.

A lovely new staged video, thanks
That cat at 5:49 into the video shat in you seeds didn't he?
Came into comment section for that 😂
Cat feces actually helps the slight fermentation of the compounds within the oil. Just kidding. It's totally gross!
Taking my hat off! ❤
Amazing, thank you.
Wow, this is great.
Now I understand why fried foods were so rare in ancient China, and reserved for the court and super rich, until the Portuguese brought peanut plant to China from the New World. Thank you!
It was never for lack of oil, not even for a second. It has always been about heating the oil hot enough and long enough. Chinese food is not cut into very small pieces for convience. It is so it can actually be cooked by the time the nearly non-existant source of fire dies. China for a few thgousand years has not had sufficent wood, oil, coal or other for making cooking fires.
@@The_Invisible_Hand_Of_CV Is bamboo not suitable for burning? It grows extremely quick.
@@Kraus- It does not grow all over the country. It does grow pretty quickly, though.

AT about (9:32) it gets very interesting as to how they make the compression to squeeze out the oil. Actually I enjoyed the entire process. Amazing. Doctor George Whitehead (Loved the Cats)
Did you... Did you just sign off you youtube comment?
Very hardworking person 👌👌
Interesting method of extraction.

I really love your video❤❤❤❤
We love your video's❤️
Very neat, great job. Subscribed.
Happy to see 👍🏼
For those who do not know, this is related to rapeseed. But the Chinese version is actually healthy! It’s a wonderful oil I first had in Sichuan. In the broccoli family. I grows like a weed and gives us a cooking oil
And he seemed not to notice one of those cats pissing into the seeds . Maybe that makes the oil taste better ?
My faith in the internet continues. I'd have been taken aback if someone didn't notice and comment LOL
same. But maybe he edited out the hard SLAP he gave the cat. not sure which would be worse.
You mean the secret ingredient?
Probably does ! .... 😂😂😂. Canola - yeugh. :-(
Something tells me they had one less cat that night.
The best hash oil I've ever smoked.
정말 대단하군요.
Good job brother,Jesus bless you ,and all of you guys
Please do English text on the screen. Because many of us want to understand what you are showing us...but we have no idea what the plants are or even what your doing 🤔 thank you from NewZealand 🌸
It’s either mustard or canola 🙂
Yeah it would be nice to know what’s going on
5:48 cat about to take a dump
What is it?
Stellar machines.
What a lot of work!
The technique he is using to extract the oil was one of the pivital techniques that changed farming, which was the concept of leveraging. Many other techniques similar to this eventually paved the way for mordern machinery.
我以前去日本北部旅行的時候,見過「谷風車」實物。
how bout boiling method? wasnt it effective to make oil go on top of water surface?
Awesome work through the process, was this soy oil? This is a great snap shot of the past, love it.
Rape seed, a mustard.
5:48 that cat took a shit 😂😂😂
This was very informative in many ways. Was a vertical press developed after this?

At 0:10 I was expecting ancient Japanese soldiers, wielding swords, to jump in from thin air, surround the worker, claim he was under arrest for some crazy charge like glancing at a princess, and shortly after the worker kick all their asses using some ferrous martial art.
