Percy Jackson and Rick's other Middle grade series made me embrace my inner mythology geek :) I mean, I might even study Latin and Greek next year, lol. So yeah, Percy's important to me.
My mom doesn't really read a lot, but she ALWAYS read to me and took me to the library and the bookstore and supported my love of reading

5. Skulduggery Pleasant books. They're my favorite and I love rereading them.
6. My mom was reading Twilight and some other books and I hated reading, but i grabbed Twilight anyway and I didn't pass page 12. But when I saw The Golden Compass book (I had already watched the movie), I made my mom buy it. She didn't want it and ask me if I really wanted it and I said yes. Now we have a huge bookshelf filled with books.
7. I think I choose The Golden Compass too, cause before it, I hated reading and after it, I've become a reading addicted. Last year I read 80 books, so...

I think Fairytales for Wilde Girls is definitely the book that has shaped kind of my entire identity. It is a contemporary YA fairytale of sorts, there are no darker retellings of fairytales, and it uses such beautiful languages to tell those fairytales. All twists and turns. At that time I had fallen out of reading because I was still in the learning stages of English and felt afraid of books because I couldn't understand them, but Fairytales for Wilde Girls definitely made me fall in love with the English language and made me want to create beautiful stories, in English. So it has made me into the writer and reader I am today.
Some of my favorite childhood books are Hello god it's me Margaret and all the babysitter club books.

I agree that a puppy is vital for a good reading experience. Narnia was also the first series that I finished on my own since my dad read me the first three harry potter books
I have so much trouble listing favourite books since it feels like ranking your children. There are so many books I love but 'The Little Prince' will always have a special place in my heart. The first time I read it I was quite young, but I remember feeling like it was 'my' book and having this moment where I thought life made sense.

My mom taught me and my siblings how to read and write before I was four years old that's how I started reading. The book that really grasped my attention for more than just entertainment was The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Just seeing how hard it was for this woman to not be her true self because of the standards of society had me really think beyond the words and that's when I truly fell in love with reading. Since then a book was never just "a book" for me anymore.

I am the same way with loving adventure books and being the complete opposite kind of person. But I think that is most definitely why I love adventure so much :)
I loved this video. Your talking is so honest I really enjoyed it. Some books that shaped me are Poe's stories, Harry Potter, A.S King as an author, changed me, Persona Normal, and Pride and Prejudice :)

I got into books at a really young age! I remember being in first grade and reading books for this point system we had, and I could not stop reading! We had these little boxes that we got to pick out full with magazines and short novels (like Cam Jansen and Junie B Jones) and my teacher got frustrated because I flew through them all before the first semester was over! She had to send me to the library to get bigger books!
harry potter reminds me of my childhood as well, I was a child of 25 when I first picked up philosophers stone...good times!

i wish i could remember the first book that really got me into reading but unfortanetly i cant, however last year june time i hadnt read anything new out side of distopian fiction for a few years and I found this channel which opened my eyes to books in a whole new way, so this channel will always have a special place in my heart

My mum introduced me to the famous five series by Enid Blyton which got me into reading but my dad got me into Percy Jackson when I was older which was when I became an avid reader and expanded what genres and types of books I read. I love your videos :)

Hell yes Narnia! When I was about 5 my Sunday evenings were all about sitting down to watch the BBC TV series and after that it was probably one of the first series I read myself.
The Hex Hall series and Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick changed my perspective on reading. I use to not enjoy reading. My seventh grade teacher help so much in choosing the right books for me.
Jaquliene Wilson got me into reading when I was about 8-9! She was my favourite author as a child and I met her twice!! ✌🏽

I've always loved reading since they started teaching us letters and words in preschool but when I was in first grade the Amelia bedealia series made me fall in love and now I read none stop
The book that got me into reading would be The Tale Of Despereaux. I first read it in elementary school then I would read it all through middle school. Then brought me to find some other books as well.
Amusingly enough the books that got me to start reading were goosebumps and bailey school kids (since I don't read much horror or mystery now). I think it was the covers and titles and my sister wanting me to read the same books as her. Then after an excursion to the library, my sister and I would read whatever we got from the library. It just became a habit that persists today :D
I love learning the origin stories about reading, the books that pushed me into it was PJO.
The Secret Series got me into reading. Definitely one of the best books I have read in all time!
I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. Mom and Dad read me Charlotte's Web long before I could read it myself. The series I remember most though was the Sweet Valley series by Francine Pascal. It really fostered my love of books and stories.
The Once and Future King, The Martian Chronicles, Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, The Baroque Cycle.
The series that has impacted me the most is definitely Just one day by Gayle Forman, it was a life changing experience and honestly if anyone who hasn't read it yet really should

The book that kind of sparked my reading when I was younger was The Boxcar Children or the Magic Tree House series (I read both in second grade) but the series that got me into YA was definitely Twilight 😍
The book that first got me into reading was Perfect Chemistry. I'm not a person who is really into romance books but I enjoyed the series, though in my opinion the first book was the best because the other two were pretty much the same.

I love the no 1 ladies detective agency series by Alexander McCall Smith. the book gives a unique perspective on a large African woman written by a Scottish man. it is one of the few books I have read in which the fat person is proud to be themselves and does not see a need to change. it is also my go to comfort series.

I started the magician's nephew then searched how the whole series is to be read and then i stopped. I never knew that The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book.

The Twilight series and the Harry Potter series are the reason I became a reader and the reason I found BookTube.
You know what book I think you'd really enjoy? The angelmaker by Stefan Brijs. It's originally written in Dutch but it surely is translated and it might be a bit difficult to get your hands on (I don't think every bookstore just sells it) but my goodness. It is soooo good. It has such a well-thought, pretty complex storyline. It's about a doctor in the 20th century messing with science basically. This book is sooo interesting, especially if you've got some knowledge about the Bible or christianity. I am a die-hard fantasy reader and I barely enjoy anything else but this book... Ah. I hope you'll check it out because it's just so good :)

Guys I'm so sorry! I didn't realise it because when I read it I knew that particular thing was going to happen and it was more of a "how is this going to happen" then a "what is going to happen" plot. I just didn't realise but fortunately, there is sooooo much more to this plot and this book and you kinda get to read about the thing I said pretty quick when reading the book. I'm serious you should still read it :)

It was my first series. I started reading it even before Harry Potter! And I feel that is SO underrated. I re-read the whole serie a couple of years ago and I still related to the story. It looks all princess-y and everything but it's not, it's just a cool story and Mia was a kickass heroin before it was cool! :D

When I was young I really enjoyed reading Astrid Lindgren, and as I got a little older The Immortals series by Alyson Noël and The Hunger Games made me want to buy books and read them purely for fun instead of reading only school library books during our scheduled reading time.
