Thanks for pointing out the problem with this episode. It always bugs me (no pun intended) how Fluttershy is never treated as being in the wrong for what she did. And people complain about Discord being a karma houdini, well he learned from the best.

This episode is actually rather important when it comes to establishing recurring flaws in Twilight's character. 1. It establishes that sometimes she and Pinkie have trouble communicating because Twilight just automatically jumps to the "Pinkie will be Pinkie" conclusion. 2. It establishes her OCD tendencies and shows just how badly she handles things when she's not in control of the situation (seriously, Twilight, your batshit plan to fix everything is TO BUILD A REPLICA OF THE TOWN A FEW FEET OVER AND HOPE CELESTIA DOESN'T NOTICE?!) 3. It establishes her God complex and disturbing knowledge of domination spells. Which she will later use to make an entire town fall in love with a doll, and turn Fluttershy into a fucking bat because she's too full over herself to not realize that these spells are a terrible fucking idea to begin with! And people call Twilight a Mary Sue.... (I adore the character but) How is this obsessive-compulsive neurotic that thinks she's Jesus tap dancing Christ on a power trip a fucking Mary Sue?

Ah, how long I've waited for another MLP review. I'm not even a fan of the show, (don't hate it, just don't watch it) yet I love Josh's reviews so much. By the way, I noticed the editing seemed a lot faster paced on this one than on the other ones.
When I was middle school and high school I was a pretty good percussionist for my school's orchestra band. I played the bells for the orchestrated pieces and switched over to the cymbals for the football season. Aww...so many good memories.

Quarterguy if you're thinking of doing a music-related countdown how about the top 10 involving video game tracks with the use of a choir? It's just an idea I'm throwing out there.
My favorite instrument? *The saxophone, brother!* I own an alto, tenor, and just recently got myself a soprano saxophone. Don't know if I'll get to try the baritone or contrabass anytime soon, but I've been looking into that. The one type of saxophone that's really taken my interest as of late is the sopranino saxophone. Much like the soprano, it's situational, but fun to play from my experience of trying it out in a local music store.

Yeah, Flutters mane 6 for indirectly destroying ponyville, almost ruining an acapella group, and being part of a problem in SIX episodes! Putting your hoof down, hurricane fluttershy, Power Ponies, Swarm of the Century, It Ain't Easy Being Breezies, and one other that I forget. As opposed to spike who was only a problem in Secret of my Excess and Spike at your Service, Flutters pretty much inhibits the group like no tomorrow like what you said in your Return of Harmony review. At least she has very few redeeming moments. And funny thing, I'm starting to see why you think Rarity is best pony, although I still think Twilight is best because I can relate to her easiest.
Yes, she does help solve the problem, but something I forgot to say with spike, In Spike at your Service, he DID help solve the problem, like fluttershy did in some of those episodes. But about Power ponies, It was sorta my lack of knowledge because I remembered that she didn't get mad when the rest of the mane 6 were practically petrified, yet she does get mad when a fictional firefly gets knocked unconscious? WHAT IN THE WHOLE NAME OF DEMAGLIO- oh yeah, and Hurricane fluttershy... I dunno how to word it, but she did kinda keep the from bringing water to cloudsdale on try #1, and her ignorance in Breezies almost kept them from being stuck in equestria for lord-knows-how-long. I'm just a 13 year old who doesn't enjoy fluttershy moments too much.

***** Actually, Twilight had smoke spit in here face, (almost like someone spitting in your face), Pinkie Pie almost looked like she was kinda attacked. But, yeah, the dragon was provoked by Rarity and RD. But, the dragon was acting like a lazy bum-hole, so the dragon almost provoked the Mane Six. (Really RD, but Rarity shouldn't have attempted to rob him. [Element of Generosity]) What does this prove? I don't now! XP
When I said fluttershy was a problem, I meant inhibitor. As in, she kinda holds back the mane 6. See Dragonshy and Power Ponies for a reference. If those are good examples...
This is my least favorite episode precisely because of all the communication problems. But the primary failure in communication was on Pinkie Pie's part, and in the end, she's made to look like the victim for it.

Mime Slayer Me too. I do hate the show (and the fandom has angered me a lot with some of their worst actions), but not so passionately that I'd act like no one has the right to like it. Josh isn't helping me like it more, but his reviews are just that entertaining. Not to mention he's a Brony of the noble kind the fandom needs more of.
Let us also remember that the tornado solution was working until Pinky's symbols messed it up. Pinky was making things worse despite what the moral wants you to believe.
Swarn of the Century has the same problems that I seen in anime (especially harem and comedy) un-funny misunderstanding and little to no communication. -_-
Leonardo Juan Poor Communication Kills, in other words. ThinaXanel Eh, somewhat similar. Biggest difference is that within anime, no matter how annoying it is, you kind of expect it by that point. It doesn't really drive the plot, it's just the main source of "humor". That makes it somewhat more bearable since it's part of their character to do so.
Every plot has been done, every single one. Of course, if plot gives a impression of "new" one, it's always big plus for entertainment, but in my opinion, execution is always more impotant. I liked this episode and I still like it, I think this episode not so bad, as this review implies - it's better than "average". Not flawless, but good. It has great usage of it's characters: Fluttershy is more likely to create a problem, because of her blind love for animals (even if she knew it could cause catastrophe, love and logic don't come together, even more if cuteness involved), and Pinkie Pie is more likely to be completely ignored, in search for solution. Two most common questions: "Why nobody asked Pinkie question "why"? and "why Pinkie didn't explain her solution to others?" Nobody asked Pinkie, because they didn't think she would know something, what is unknown to others: they discarded her opinion before even before attemping to ask her. And it's understandable, because, at this moment in whole MLP:FiM, she helped with solution only once, when she giggled at the ghostie. So, mane charcters didn't even bother to ask, because they believe it was pointless. And it's (even if it was mean) was very directly shown in that line of Applejack. What others said to Applejack after that line? Nothing, only silent agreement. And second question can be explain with short and long way. Short way is "Nobody asked her, DUH" and long way is "...because Pinkie isn't type of pony, which would explain things to others, she more likely will take action, not to give explanations. And judging by her behavior, it was so obivious to her, what she, in her turn, didn't bother to explain solution to anyone." And what is common in these two answers? Everyone didn't even tried to communicate, because that could be just "waste of time", but this was, in fact, very impotant - it's was the key to solving a problem, and it was concluded in moral of the episode. Thanks for review, Josh, even if we disagreed, it was a nice push for me to take a moment and think about this. And in result, I liked this episode even more! :) good luck with your channel in the future!
No offense Josh, but i felt as though this was one of your weakest reviews recently. I felt as though the entire thing was dull in comparison to previous reviews. Maybe its because you beat the horse with jokes and pointing out the flaw over and over, but that's just me.
I agree. Though even though this was a good episode (to me) this episode didn't have anything special about it to talk about. You can say it's a "just there" MLP episode. If you know what I mean.
I think it might have been that this review seemed... kinda rushed. He probably was busy so just slapped something together to get an MLP review out knowing how long we were probably waiting. Another possibility is the Patreon lead to a drop in quality. However, I find the 2nd one unlikely, and will wait for other future reviews before reserving judgment. Like I said, I think he may have just felt rushed in getting it out for the purpose of getting it out, since the timing was so short with a lot of things. Also, the episode itself didn't leave a lot to talk about, so that was another possible contribution to the episode quality.
As much as I love Josh and despite the fact parts of this video made me laugh, I kinda agree. Both this and Top Ten Darkest Mario moments seemed very rushed in my eyes.
To be fair, this exact plotline was played straight, and has been done a hundred times over 50 years now. I'm with Josh on this, also on Celestia too (well played, m'lady).

How much you want to bet that the "infestation" in Fillydelphia was caused by the Parasprite Katamari rolled into the Everfree just earlier in the episode?
(Yay Dr. Doofenshirtz!) Finally, someone else who saw the ending coming from the very beginning! Every other reviewer seems to complain the problem being we have no idea what Pinkie's doing. If that were the case the episode would be much more interesting. That said I still love this episode! It's so funny!
I played the Alto Sax all threw middle and high school but my favorite instrument is the Violin. It just looks and sounds so elegant when handled by a skilled player.
I never payed much mind to this episode whenever I looked back at the previous seasons of MLP:FIM, and it's all in the futility of each pony's efforts to get rid of the Parasprites (besides Pinkie's method at the end) and the obvious payoff. Another review well done. It was funny and articulate, like I would expect from the Fiery Joker.
2:50 To me, the parasprites are like the opposite of the twonkies from Jimmy Neutron's Attack of the Twonkies. For those who don't know, I'll explain: They both multiply at random times, the twonkies hate music, but the parasprites love music. So this would make parasprites the anti-twonkies.
Did Josh ever consider that levitation would require focusing on the target(s). Which is easy on stationary objects (apples), but hard multiple moving targets.
Trombone is harder to play then flute but just as hard as singing. I can sing but I can't play any instruments known to mankind. My sister played the trim one all the way up until high school and I tried flute. Guess what I didn't continue playing. But seriously, I give props to anyone who can play an instrument.

Yes, she does help solve the problem, but something I forgot to say with spike, In Spike at your Service, he DID help solve the problem, like fluttershy did in some of those episodes. But about Power ponies, It was sorta my lack of knowledge because I remembered that she didn't get mad when the rest of the mane 6 were practically petrified, yet she does get mad when a fictional firefly gets knocked unconscious? WHAT IN THE WHOLE NAME OF DEMAGLIO- oh yeah, and Hurricane fluttershy... I dunno how to word it, but she did kinda keep the from bringing water to cloudsdale on try #1, and her ignorance in Breezies almost kept them from being stuck in equestria for lord-knows-how-long. I'm just a 13 year old who doesn't enjoy fluttershy moments too much.

***** Actually, Twilight had smoke spit in here face, (almost like someone spitting in your face), Pinkie Pie almost looked like she was kinda attacked. But, yeah, the dragon was provoked by Rarity and RD. But, the dragon was acting like a lazy bum-hole, so the dragon almost provoked the Mane Six. (Really RD, but Rarity shouldn't have attempted to rob him. [Element of Generosity]) What does this prove? I don't now! XP
When I said fluttershy was a problem, I meant inhibitor. As in, she kinda holds back the mane 6. See Dragonshy and Power Ponies for a reference. If those are good examples...
7:36. Okay. Twilight got a "God Mode", a "Egghead Mode", a "Cuckoo Mode" and now a "Panic Mode".
This is my least favorite episode precisely because of all the communication problems. But the primary failure in communication was on Pinkie Pie's part, and in the end, she's made to look like the victim for it.

Eh, somewhat similar. Biggest difference is that within anime, no matter how annoying it is, you kind of expect it by that point. It doesn't really drive the plot, it's just the main source of "humor". That makes it somewhat more bearable since it's part of their character to do so.

Every plot has been done, every single one. Of course, if plot gives a impression of "new" one, it's always big plus for entertainment, but in my opinion, execution is always more impotant. I liked this episode and I still like it, I think this episode not so bad, as this review implies - it's better than "average". Not flawless, but good.
It has great usage of it's characters: Fluttershy is more likely to create a problem, because of her blind love for animals (even if she knew it could cause catastrophe, love and logic don't come together, even more if cuteness involved), and Pinkie Pie is more likely to be completely ignored, in search for solution.
Two most common questions: "Why nobody asked Pinkie question "why"? and "why Pinkie didn't explain her solution to others?"
Nobody asked Pinkie, because they didn't think she would know something, what is unknown to others: they discarded her opinion before even before attemping to ask her. And it's understandable, because, at this moment in whole MLP:FiM, she helped with solution only once, when she giggled at the ghostie. So, mane charcters didn't even bother to ask, because they believe it was pointless. And it's (even if it was mean) was very directly shown in that line of Applejack. What others said to Applejack after that line? Nothing, only silent agreement.
And second question can be explain with short and long way. Short way is "Nobody asked her, DUH" and long way is "...because Pinkie isn't type of pony, which would explain things to others, she more likely will take action, not to give explanations. And judging by her behavior, it was so obivious to her, what she, in her turn, didn't bother to explain solution to anyone."
And what is common in these two answers? Everyone didn't even tried to communicate, because that could be just "waste of time", but this was, in fact, very impotant - it's was the key to solving a problem, and it was concluded in moral of the episode.

No offense Josh, but i felt as though this was one of your weakest reviews recently. I felt as though the entire thing was dull in comparison to previous reviews. Maybe its because you beat the horse with jokes and pointing out the flaw over and over, but that's just me.
I agree. Though even though this was a good episode (to me) this episode didn't have anything special about it to talk about. You can say it's a "just there" MLP episode. If you know what I mean.
I think it might have been that this review seemed... kinda rushed. He probably was busy so just slapped something together to get an MLP review out knowing how long we were probably waiting. Another possibility is the Patreon lead to a drop in quality. However, I find the 2nd one unlikely, and will wait for other future reviews before reserving judgment. Like I said, I think he may have just felt rushed in getting it out for the purpose of getting it out, since the timing was so short with a lot of things. Also, the episode itself didn't leave a lot to talk about, so that was another possible contribution to the episode quality.

I played the Alto Sax all threw middle and high school but my favorite instrument is the Violin. It just looks and sounds so elegant when handled by a skilled player.
I never payed much mind to this episode whenever I looked back at the previous seasons of MLP:FIM, and it's all in the futility of each pony's efforts to get rid of the Parasprites (besides Pinkie's method at the end) and the obvious payoff.
Another review well done. It was funny and articulate, like I would expect from the Fiery Joker.

2:50 To me, the parasprites are like the opposite of the twonkies from Jimmy Neutron's Attack of the Twonkies. For those who don't know, I'll explain: They both multiply at random times, the twonkies hate music, but the parasprites love music. So this would make parasprites the anti-twonkies.
Did Josh ever consider that levitation would require focusing on the target(s). Which is easy on stationary objects (apples), but hard multiple moving targets.

I just noticed that Pinkie plays (and pretended to play) the trombone with her left hoof, just like Slide Hampton!

Everybody does, indeed, need a trombone.
Also, don't bother with the sad trombone gag. EVERY animated show that does it makes the same mistake.
My personal favorite instrument is the sousaphone, but trombones are pretty cool too. Yay for glissandos!
Trombone is harder to play then flute but just as hard as singing. I can sing but I can't play any instruments known to mankind. My sister played the trim one all the way up until high school and I tried flute. Guess what I didn't continue playing. But seriously, I give props to anyone who can play an instrument.
