Some things that have helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I discontinued wearing ponytails because it causes tension breakage. (2) I started massaging my scalp twice a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while leaning forward & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Protecting my head while moving out to shield my hair from pollution. (4) Using gentle shampoo again from liittleextra only to wash my hair.
I am using LittleeExtra Cocoonioon shampoo for 5 months now and have gone through 3 bottles so far. Pros: 1. The shampoo feels natural. 2. Hair feels good after wash, especially if you don’t apply any hair oil. 3. Yes, hair fall has significantly decreased over time. 4. Scalp feels clean and it’s effective against dandruff. Cons: 1. It doesn’t lather much, so you may need to use a little more product. 2. When I apply a lot of oil, I find my hair still sticky after the wash, and a little oil can still be felt.
You are spot on! Rosemary oil has been found to be just as effective as minoxidil in stimulating new hair growth. I will be 64 this year and have noticed not only thinning hair, but the hair follicle miniaurizing to only have baby hair. Between the use of complement supplements, rosemary oil, a caffeine solution to block DHT in the follicle, and scalp massage, my hair is noticeably thicker. There is actual growth of real dark hairs not just baby hair. There is hope!
@@nettierose4915 Absolutely. First, there are lots of clinical studies that show that caffeine topically applied does block dht. Anytime I hear someone claiming the next miracle remedy, I go straight to the pubmed database to see if there are studies supporting the use of the product/ingredient. For topically applied caffeine, I use Plantur 39 topical solution in the morning. I use the rosemary oil solution in the evening--a little goes a long way. I can go two days before I need to wash my hair. There are other solutions that contain caffeine, such as ones made by The Ordinary and Hair Biology (sold at Target). There are also studies in pubmed that show scalp massage increases hair thickness. Be consistent . . .hair growth takes time.
@@karenartis4472 thank you! You sound quite knowledgeable. I have head that pubmed is the place to look to for info. I will buy the caffeine solution that you mentioned. Is it on Amazon? Or easily available ? Do you dilute it with water ? Do you leave it in or wash it out? Hope you don’t mind all the questions. Thanks again!
@@nettierose4915 Yes, you can purchase it on Amazon. You don't need to dilute it, it's ready to go. I use it in the morning and the rosemary oil solution in the evening. I don't need to wash either of them out until after 2 or 3 days. I've only used the scalp tonic, have not used their shampoo or conditioner. I do keep a small bottle of rosemary oil in my shower and add a couple of drops to my shampoo.
I started complement about 3.5 months ago. When I was getting a trim on Friday my hairdresser said I have tons of new hair growth that looks to be about 3 months growth. I’ve been plant based 6 years and had a stressful last year and could really feel the thinning. 🤞hope the regrowth continues.
Rice water works well for me. I just reserve the water from washing my rice, pour it in my hair, wear a cap for 30 minutes and rinse. That's how my Japanese grandma taught us to keep hair shiny and strong and full.
I have had the most incredibly stressful school year. I am a teacher and I had an accident a couple of months ago where I got where I got pretty badly injured, my mother is not doing well, and I had a really bad case of covid in November where I was sick for 3 weeks. All this is going on while putting together a large scale musical at our school. I started pulling out clubs of hair about a month ago. Tonight I broke down crying! I had a feeling to go back and watch Kiki's video I'd seen before on hair loss. Thank you so much for sharing such a personal journey and Kiki! It will benefit so many lives and I will keep you all updated on my hair journey :-) love to all of you!
I had a huge problem with hair loss coming out in handfuls. I tried different shampoos which didn’t help . What I have done is have a Brazil nut a day and use iodised salt and changed my shampoo to a plant based soap bar ( shampoo and conditioner ) I now have a loss of about 2 hairs a wash instead of handfuls !!
@@alisonmleigh7743 Hi Alison I live in the UK and buy it from a shop called Home Bargains they do several flavours- sorry I can’t think of the word I mean🤣- they all seem to do the job - it’s made by XHC ( Xpel Hair care ) I’ve tried the papaya one and the coconut it’s a shampoo and conditioner like a bar of soap in a box . After washing with this soap I use the tiniest bit of conditioner on the ends of my hair but I honestly think that the stickyness of my previous shampoo and conditioner must have been contributing to the hair loss - perhaps the hair follicles don’t like being clogged up but the changes I have made have worked . It says 97% plant based on the box . I have no medical knowledge but a combination of all the things I am doing has made a huge difference and as I say at the moment I’m not loosing any hair . Good luck
I gave up sugar and gluten (cause of inflammation) started bone broths, collagen peptides, silica, kelp, biotin, iron, Vit D3, K2, magnesium and infra red light. It works. You have to start from the inside out.
@@joanneclark8256 Keto triggers autophagy which recycles damaged cell parts into fully functioning cell parts. I thought that might help my hair loss/thinning bc I figured my cells and overall metabolism would improve but I found out later on that keto can actually trigger hair loss. I wasn't able to keep up with it from early on anyway bc the change of foods healthy fats and proteins, veggies, no carbs other than from veggies was too cold turkey for me.
I have been a holistic master esthetician for almost 4 decades and I have my clients use Castor Oil masks at night help with hair loss and it works. I also have them use it on their eyelashes and eye brows. Just some extra advice. Love what you do here. Blessings 🙌🏻🍑🧡🙌🏻Lisa
@@PatriciaDavidsonPhotography Hi Patricia🧡 You comb castor oil through your hair and leave it on over night with a cap on. It works. The castor oil does take a few washes in the morning. Blessings 🍑🙌🏻Lisa
@@Thatcntrygirl1 Tea Oil makes me physically sick to my stomach and burns my skin. Just to let you know some people are highly allergic to it. I mixed my castor oil with coconut oil.
Hi Kiki, one tip you may want to try is sleeping on a satin pillow case. I use one and I noticed a huge difference in my hair not feeling dry or hair shedding on the pillow case from friction. The cotton pillow case can cause shedding and breakage from the friction when turning in your sleep. Blessings
Thank you thank you! Cannot thank you enough for posting this. I was starting to lose the hair around my forehead - not a good look. I followed your suggestions and it has grown back. You are the BEST!!
Thank you so much for doing this video! Especially for us vegans who are also experiencing hair loss. There aren't a lot of people talking about this topic either because it's so scary personal or because they haven't found any real solutions. I'm so grateful that you're willing to share your journey and I'm going to give these tips a try!
Thank you for this video! I've lost so much hair since having my thyroid removed. I used to have gorgeous, thick hair that would break hair ties and combs because it was so thick. I have such a thin, tiny pony now. Definitely going to get that supplement!
I had a bald spot in the front of my hairline for decades because of hormonal birth control. I finally stopped it 3 years ago and my hair has thankfully grown back! It’s a big side effect of birth control that may not be known.
Wow. Thank you for this comment Teri! 💝 I have been plant-based since 2014 and at first noticed thicker hair (than I already had)! 2017 I began birth control, because every natural remedy I tried did not lessen my debilitating cramps... While it removed period cramps almost entirely -- I noticed my hair thinning, even though I changed nothing in my diet. Last September I had blood work done and levels were all good, except I had too much iron because I was supplementing! I have changed to recommended shampoos and noticed softer hair but no hair growth. Fast forward to now, since December 2021 I stopped taking birth control pills. Thank God my period cramps haven't come back, I have little to no brain fog, and my hair is thickening up and growing faster! ✨ I believe, like you said, that birth control was causing my hair loss!
I’m not on BC but I also have a bald spot right in the front. I see little hairs growing but not a lot. The rest of my hair grows but not that spot at all.
I had given up. Nobody could pinpoint the cause. I’ve been experience stress but that isn’t going away on its own so I need something more and this just might be it! Thank you Kiki, can’t wait to see if my hair loss situation improves! 💖💇🏻♀️
Kiki, thank you so much for this video! I appreciate the in depth information you provided! My hair is finally growing back after years of it thinning. I still have a big problem with shedding, but your video has given me some tools to try. For those of you suffering medical problems, don't give up and don't let your doctor just tell you you need to wait more time if it feels like it has been long enough. Be your own advocate! No one will care more about your health than you so be insistent if needed.
Thank you for this video. My hair has been falling out and first I blamed the shampoo, then I blamed eating WFPB. I got my blood tested and nothing was wrong! It is SO upsetting to see hair come out after every shower and combing!! I’m definitely looking into the supplements. Thank you!! Glad to hear it isn’t the food. 🙂
~3 Months Post-Covid it’s also normal to experience hair loss!!! Didn’t know this was a thing until my gf who also had covid told me! Don’t think it’s all because of a plant based diet. I started seeing HUGE amounts of hair loss exactly 3 months after my recovery. Very scary, but temporary!
Had awful hair loss 2 months after having Covid extremely bad. It’s been over a year and I’m finally seeing a difference. It’s called Telogen Effluvium.
Before I got covid, I wasn’t losing that much hair. I had healthy natural long hair. I recently had a hair cut last year. I had covid in January and my hair was a mess. I lost a lot of hair. 5-10 strands a day, brushing hair then have fallouts. Showering and I’m losing hair too. I see several strands of hair on my pillow too. Nothing is working for me.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm dealing with the same thing. 3 months after I had covid I started having dramatic hair loss. I think I lost 30% in two weeks. 💔 This video is really encouraging and I'm gonna try it out. Especially since I heard about research where they found that a deficiency in zinc and selenium contributed to the severity of covid.
Same!! I caught COVID and was terribly sick for a month. Two months later, my hair started to fall out super bad. I was afraid I was going to go bald. MONTHS later, I noticed a ton of new hair growth making it look like I had a halo of frizz around my head. Very aggravating, but I am so thankful to see all the new hair growth.
Myself, like so many others, I suffered from significant hair loss after getting covid. It has slowed down, but a very scary time. Thanks for sharing with us.
Beverly Brumbaugh, can you please tell me more about your hair loss after Covid? I am experiencing the same thing. It came on suddenly about 2 months after Covid and it is still falling out rapidly everyday. Clumps and clumps when I shower and brush it out. Has yours slowed down at all? If so, how long did it take?
I had covid the first go round in 2020 and i lost so much hair. Bald spots loss of hair and when kiki mentioned these 8 months ago, i bought them and my hair has grown back. The new growth looked funni because i lost alot and i looked like i had spikes coming through my hair. So glad my hair has grown back and continues to grow back. I just got covid again 3 weeks ago, i am hoping since i have been taking them that i wont take a big hit this time around.
@@Jewlz4ever It started about 3 months after getting covid. It was in my hands after washing my hair, then while I was blow drying. I did end up taking collagen and biotin which helped. Right now there is new growth starting to come back. Hope yours is getting better too.
Thank you so much for this video. I wasn’t even looking for a video on hair loss but the algorithm must’ve read my mind because it suggested this to me. I’ve been struggling with a lot more shedding and clumps of hair stuck in the drain every time I wash my hair ever since I started taking a new medication for my vestibular migraine disease this past summer. And while I don’t want to stop taking this medication that has been a life changer for me, I also don’t want to lose my hair. My hair has always been so thick and healthy (until recently) and, honestly, it’s always been my best feature, so to lose that would be devastating. I even stopped bleaching my hair about a year ago because I knew that could contribute to hair loss, but that didn’t seem to make a difference. I’ve only noticed a minimal amount of regrowth since I stopped the bleaching. Just tonight I noticed that my hairline has started to recede in certain spots! 🥺 Anyway, this video and your tips have given me so much hope. Thank you!!
I started Complement per your recommendation. I love it. No yucky taste and my hair does not fall out anymore. I also have severe hypothyroidism. I also stopped dyeing my hair 2 years ago.
So kind of you to share your personal "hair journey," your experience through it all, the tips, tricks, products, and supplements. We love our hair, don't we. At any age!! Love your channel. You are so calm, informative and such an inspiration to us all. So glad you are sharing yourself with all of us. Your hubby found a treasure when he found you!
Sometimes if you have alopecia from an autoimmune disorder, there’s nothing you can do. I’ve had it for years, get over 100 shots in my head every month to keep it from getting worse. I’m lucky to have very thick hair and alopecia ophiasis (meaning it falls out like a crown around my head) so my hair on top hides it. I’ve lost 50% of my hair though. I’ve tried every autoimmune protocol/ plant based diet and nothing helps. My hair actually stopped growing when I was 100% vegan. So while I’m mainly plant based now, I may have some fish/shrimp and collagen powder. Rarely some cheese. My doctor gave me an omega 3 caplet made from fish. My hair that I do have grows nice now and is healthy. I’ve also found Hask products reduced my fallout in the shower. Currently trying that rice water shampoo bar. I will definitely try this stuff out, I will keep on trying stuff out in hopes it will make a difference. I’ll never give up hope. I’d rather try natural stuff than all the meds they want to pump in me.
If you’re interested, Medical Medium has an alopecia protocol. I’ve seen many people talk about it and heal their alopecia following it as well. It’s an all natural protocol as well 😊 I’ve healed numerous things with his information!
the meridians from the organs and different parts of the body go to various areas of the scalp. you should see an acupuncturist-herbalist who is aware of the relationship. Also the different emotions affect different organs, so excess emotion must be kept in check. Pretty much everything in the body can affect the hair, so it's important to identify the meridians and trace which organs and areas of the body are affecting you the most. some of the best foods to consume are the fresh raw green juices. Some fruit juices are good too, but not easy to get like fresh raw pomengranate when in season. if your hair stopped growing when you were vegan, you were not eating the correct foods. When I am eating right, I have more growth in one week than two weeks of wrong eating. I recommend checking out Lou Corona's company and protocol. I just had to share a little because I can't imagine how much time it takes to get 100 shots a month.
Same. I have been diagnosed with LPP and trying to use more natural treatments rather than all of the aggressive medicines they wanted me to try. Plus, they couldn't even guarantee that they would work. Derm said "try something till it works." :/ I have a super sensitive scalp so, I don't even know that I could use rosemary oil. I'm working on cutting sugar out of diet cause that definitely inflamed the issues.
I have been suffering with lots of oily hair in the last couple of years and lots of hair loss due to over washing and probably other things. I now wash 2-3 times a week and also use that towel. I do not use heat on my hair, take a multi-vitamin including a Vitamin D and in the last three months I have noticed that I barely lose any hair while washing and that I am seeing more hair growth. I am working on eating more of a plant-based diet to see if that helps as well, especially for my oily hair. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! Love hearing about that supplement! I also needed more ferritin stored up (iron levels) because hair won’t grow if the ferritin stores are too low… as the body needs the iron for important functions and hair is seen as a “luxury” item by the body😆. So Opti-Ferrin C is a gentle iron that has regrown my hair, brows, and lashes ❤️
Just for anyone else who might have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, be careful about Complement. It contains sorbitol, which can be a trigger for people with inflammatory bowel disease. I wish I could use an all-in-one supplement, but it really set off my digestive system.
Hi Christie! We'll be releasing the new version of liquid (sorbitol free) Complement Essential next month, otherwise, sorbitol is very minuscule part of the outer shell of a vegan complement plus capsule and can not be omitted. We hope you can enjoy the liquid version next month!
Great video! Thank you for all your work on this. I was experiencing hair loss before I went back to a plant based lifestyle, and now that it’s not coming out in clumps, I want it to be healthy and thick like yours! 💕💕💕
Thank you so much for this video. My hair loss is extreme and unfortunately from being on blood thinners and that’s one of the rare side effects of anticoagulants, and was told it could grow back once I’m off of the medication. Also life stressors etc., but like you said, I won’t give up.🌸I will try these methods and hope they help me. God bless you!
First time using a product from an influencer that actually made a huge difference! I've been taking the compliment supplements and using the derma e shampoo and conditioner and I noticed my hairline (esp. around my temples) looks less bear and has little hairs growing over where it used to look thinned out and you could see so much of my scalp. Don't get me wrong it's not a miracle cure I still have thin/fine hair overall but it's better than before significantly enough to notice! ☺️👍
Complement really worked for me too and I tried it based on your recommendation, so a thousand thank you’s! I take the liquid version because I can’t swallow big pills, and I’m so grateful the company offers that alternative, it’s not usual. My hair loss was also due to Hashimotos. I have noticed lately that I have a lot scalp irritation that seems to be from fragrance, so I might try some unscented products as you recommend.
I Really needed to see this! I've been really going thin on top and it's so upsetting and brings me even more stress. I can't wait to try these. Thank ❤ you!
Thank you so much Kiki for this video!!! 🙏🏽💖 I’ve always had super thick hair but I recently started experiencing bald spots and hair thinning and was freaking out! This video was super informative and I will definitely be purchasing those supplements ASAP. I also feel relieved to know that I’m not alone.
Okay, I’ve ordered everything here! Super hopeful. I have a lot of hair also, thankfully, and a lot of that is body; but at the rate mine falls out, I’m concerned. It’s definitely thinner than it was 5 years ago. And I’m sick of finding my hair everywhere. So, going to try all this and be mindful of the steaming hot showers I love too!
I've been plant based for 5 years and I have been experiencing a tremendous amount of hair loss in the past 3 or 4 months, like half of my hair is gone. Good thing I have a lot of hair to begin with. Thank you for your hair loss videos. I have been using a Rosemary shampoo and I have been taking vitamins with zinc and iodine and I have been eating a couple of brazil nuts for the selenium and the hair loss has slowed down, but not altogether. I just ordered the Complement vitamins hoping that will help too. Thanks again for sharing your story.
hello how is your hair loss ?? I worried to do just plant base as protein was told was the best way... did you check your vit b12 ? if got better what was helping?
I am almost through my first bottle of Complement but I'm sure you are aware, as they've been sending out emails, they first were having supply issues, then they had an ingredient clog up their machines. I hope they resolve all their issues soon. I want to keep taking it to see if it improves my hair issues.
Hi Mary! We are resolving the issue and you should have your vitamins on time. If not, please reach out to our customer happiness team. We love chatting with you and keeping you up to date on everything!
Selenium from Brazil nuts and EPA/DHA from fish (that’s why I’ve met vegans who eat fish sometimes) plant conversion for EPA/DHA is really low but you can get it from fish
Hair loss in women is caused by hormones excreted by the adrenal glands when we consume caffeine. This includes chocolate, coffee, tea. For more info, look up medical medium hair loss women.
So glad to read these comments in addition to this video! I just started having hair loss issues. I also realized I’m not taking anything other than the D b12 and a probiotic. I found complement from another youtuber for general supplement use. I needed to switch from my usual supplements for price reasons and this just clearly came at the right time. Now I just need to wait for their supply to get back in 😂
Kiki, I just love your videos. I’m no longer plant based but I still watch your vids bc you are so calm, peaceful, and lovely. I look forward to all your videos. 😊

I ordered compliment a few weeks ago and am waiting for my first bottle! (Darn supply issues) I'm hoping it will help with my postpartum hair. I'm a little over a year pp and my hair still feels like it's losing more than it should be. Thank you for the tips!
So many people (mostly women) experiencing hair loss after CV-19. I have also heard that fasting and the Keto diet (too much *fat not enough protein*) can lead to hair loss as well. So, if your labs look good, maybe this could be another reason why you are experiencing hair loss. I would also recommend visiting Dr. Eric Berg's channel. He recently posted a fantastic video regarding hair loss. The supplement you recommend lines up with some of his recommendations! side note- Have you tried a silk pillowcase? This really helps prevent breakage and helps improve bed head as well! LOL! Love your vids. xo
I recently watched a video where a lady lost a lot of hair and found out it’s because she wasn’t eating enough protein. So she started eating tons of protein and her hair grew back. Funny how everyone is so different
@@Jewlz4ever I suppose too much of something has adverse reactions. I will have to go back and watch the video, maybe he did say increase protein! Lol. I will be back to edit if so. Lol

Just discovered this video - sent a message to the Complement Co - I didn't see any ingredients listed as organic, and the use of glycerin without saying palm oil free has me questioning. Hoping for good news.
I am confused. Sounds like two different mixtures. 1. How and when do you use the 15 tsp. grapeseed oil with the 10-13 drops rosemary oil? 2. How and when do I use the distilled water and 3 drops of rosemary oil mixture?
I have always had super thick hair, over the last 3 to 4 months my hair has begun to fall out at an alarming rate. My once very fat pony tail is now a little wisp of hair. 😢. I am desperate and found this video while poking around your site. I have been plant based for 1 1/2 years, had Covid about 4 months ago, so not sure what is going on. But I ordered the supplements and will also do the oil treatment. 🤞 here’s hoping! 😊
Ok when you said you WERE in your mid to late 30's I was shocked! How old are you?! I definitely thought you were no older than 32... you look amazing!
My daughter has a terrible problem with an irritated and flaky scalp. She's 27, and her hair is thinning so over. When she was young she had very thick hair like mine. I'm going to show her this video and help her get started. Call you provide a step her step lady of daily and about routines regarding hair and scalp treatments?
Boy did I need this info. Ty. I have been losing my hair for years now and so many different doctors and no one seems to find what's causing it. I will give all your advice a try.

Your videos are awesome. Thank you for all the information you’re sharing and tips. Question: Do you dye your roots? If you do what hair dye do you use? I need something more natural than supermarket box.
Thank you! I loved this video. All I ever read/listen/study are vegan food sites and my medical sites/podcasts for school. It was refreshing to see a new type of video on a topic that I really needed! I like your candidness about it all. I ordered the vitamins. Thank you for doing the leg work. I really appreciate it and hope to see similar results.
I use complements as well! Was wondering if anyone has found a creative way to up cycle the brown jars! I feel like something cute could be made out of them, I’m not coming up with anything on my own or on Pinterest! Would love to reuse them beside just for food storage!
i tried a full bottle with no issue, and when i reordered, the capsules were leaking. same with the replacement they sent me. i was extremely disappointed. they are so expensive and that was a LOT of money for me, to waste on vitamins I can't take because they are all rancid and stuck together in the bottle. I had to cancel the subscription after that and unfortunately was out the $70 some dollars.
The same thing happened to me! Did you happen to ask them if they’re still safe to take if they leak? I’m guessing it’s the algal oil that causes that taste/smell and makes them stick together😖
@@krissym5632 I’m sorry! They did say they are still safe. But def almost impossible to take between the taste and smell! I tried to shake one of my bottles the other day and they would not budge 😅
@Victoria Hanshaw they sent me a replacement bottle instead but it was also leaked and damaged. At that point I guess I could have demanded my money back but I cancelled, when they asked why I canceled I told them and it went nowhere from there.
@jennr6928 I never received them. The shipping date kept getting pushed back. I finally canceled the order. I was, however, introduced to a shampoo that actually did and does work! My neighbor sells it, and it's vegan and actually helped grow about 60% of my hair back. It's called Monat. You have to purchase it from someone, kind of like Mary Kay, I've seen it on Amazon, but I wouldn't trust it.
I feel like age has to do a lot to do with it too. I had to stop eating this way because of my hair loss and my age didn’t help either. It’s barely growing back to what it somewhat was at a year later. I wish I can go back to plant based eating.
I think, and this is just my opinion, that your supposed to eat fruit at least one hour before or after your raw or cooked veggies. I started out eating lettuce and tomato sandwiches and orange juice to wash it down. And I got acid stomach. Now I have a fridge and freezer and stove and don't smash my food together like I did when I first started. Try to eat
I tried Curly Girl Method off and on for about 3 years and noticed scary amounts of hair loss during that time. Think it was all the product I was using, gels, serums, moisturizers that was probably blocking the follicles. Now just shampooing and light conditioner and minimal hair loss. PS not vegan and the collagen powder I put in my coffee once a day has done wonders for hair, skin and nails.
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I ALSO HAVE LONG BLACK HAIR AND HAVE BEEN LOSING HAIR. I WAS ABOUT TO CHOP IT ALL OFF BECAUSE I THOUGHT WEIGHT OF HAIR WAS CAUSE. WILL START TAKING VITAMINS. THANK YOU!
ya so my friend from India who has gorgeous hair said that the women use grapeseed oil where she is from to make their scalp treatments because its so good for hair growth, so that's what I use:)
Two months of vegan diet am losing lots of hair. My hair is already thin so this is scary. I was gluten free, dairy and meat free. I just added fish and egg to see if it saves my hair. I am also going to order this vit crossing my figure it will help me. Vegan is not for everyone.
I always had thin hair, my mum also has thin hair and my dad has a bald head. I'm wondering, if it's genetics or if I could change that, with the right vitamins🤔
Thanks for sharing! Hair loss is horrible to deal with. I have LPP so mine is permanent. I was just about to pull the trigger on the shampoo/conditioner but this product has Tea Tree Oil and I am highly allergic to it. The same company does make a cream I absolutely love called DERMA E Eczema Relief Cream if anyone is experiencing itching. It's so soothing. I make a mixture of castor oil and coconut oil that also is soothing.
I have this to. It's very upsetting. I haven't tried any of the medications because they can cause so many side effects. Trying to combat naturally but, nothing has worked so far.
@@bshows14 I gave up on the meds. Since going plant based I have slowed the progression of the disease. I'm pretty sure I'm on the burn out stage but still have the hair loss in a few areas.
@Patricia Davidson I was told that the been out phase would be after around 18 months but, I'm at two years and still having issues. Which shampoo and conditioner do you use?
@@bshows14 I've had it over 10 years but used meds up until 5 years ago. So maybe that's what is different about the prognosis now. There was hardly anyone I heard of with it when I was first diagnosed. I'm always looking for the perfect shampoo but GF, and free of harsh chemicals is what I go for. There are lots of good shampoos out there now.
Kiki, couldn't help but notice your beautiful bedding. Can you please share where you got the fur throw or comforter. Just ordered complement for myself and my daughter and all the other items you suggested. Keep doing what you do lady, I love your content!! Blessings!!
Thanks for this video Kiki, I’ve suffered from this for 15 years, my hair is thinning on top and it’s very noticeable so I often wear hats. I’ve ordered some of the vitamins you suggested, I’ve tried others before and several other treatments so hopefully they work for me too!
@@Cheveuxes they took a long time to arrive here in Australia so it’s only been 3 weeks -I’ll wait for another few before I look closer to see if my hair is growing again.
Brazil nuts are a natural source of selenium and zinc too. Cod liver oil blocks DHT. I keep a bottle in my fridge. Seafood in general is a natural source of iodine and two meals per week involving seafood should be enough for the average person. Food really is medicine and supplements can then do what they are intended to do, “supplement” what we are already putting into our bodies.
Hi, Kiki! I love you and your channel! A clean beauty line I have been using is Briogeo -- cruelty free! THey have a curly hair AND a frizzy hair line that I love because I live in Florida and I have thick, wavy hair.
Amazing video! Super helpful! Another great, vegan, sustainable, and cruelty free shampoo and conditioner that I use are from ethique! They are all silicone, paraben, and sulfate free! They are also shampoo and conditioner bars, so they are plastic free too! They work great for my curly hair even with hard water because they are soap free and pH balanced. They have options that also don't have fragrance, such as the "bar minimum" shampoo bar which I use.
Thank you so much for this video. I too have suffered hair loss and can relate to your story. I will give your regiment a try. Wondering how often you wash your hair? I’m hearing less is better than more.
I started loosing hair after chemical straightening, even after 2 years of medication from doctor the problem is same ,can you please give me some tips?
ok, bought the supplements, I've been slow to get a good vegan one, so expensive but hopefully good. I've been using Costco biotin multi for years but it's not vegan. Then adding B and C and D, etc. I like the simplicity of one supplement Thank you for inspiring! Erin
I love you Kiki ! You are beautiful and kind and thank you for sharing your experience and amazing tips. You are so inspirational. When I saw plant based i had to subscribe immediately.
Pros:
1. The shampoo feels natural.
2. Hair feels good after wash, especially if you don’t apply any hair oil.
3. Yes, hair fall has significantly decreased over time.
4. Scalp feels clean and it’s effective against dandruff.
Cons:
Can you explain the caffeine solution that you use : how you make it or where you buy it, how you use it, how much, and how often. Thank you!
Wow! I’m 59 and was just going to accept age-related hair loss, but now I’m absolutely trying the rosemary oil!
Wonderful to hear!
I just lost 60% to post covid hairloss. Many are going through it.
@@pjcorgi ..the same thing happened to me. The hairdresser said "you know there's different lengths and patches back here?" 🥺
Rice water works well for me.
Hi Natalie,
Do you have an update on your experience?
I had a huge problem with hair loss coming out in handfuls. I tried different shampoos which didn’t help . What I have done is have a Brazil nut a day and use iodised salt and changed my shampoo to a plant based soap bar ( shampoo and conditioner ) I now have a loss of about 2 hairs a wash instead of handfuls !!
What plant based shampoo and conditioner?
Good luck
what brand of shampoo bar do you use?
@@sab4895 Hi all the details are above in my previous response
Where do you shop the brazil nut?
I gave up sugar and gluten (cause of inflammation) started bone broths, collagen peptides, silica, kelp, biotin, iron, Vit D3, K2, magnesium and infra red light. It works. You have to start from the inside out.
I’ve started this but it’s pricey and takes careful planning. I’m going the clean keto route. Hoping I get results too 🙏🏽
@@Gloria_Chav Keto is unfortunately not healthy sustainably and can lead to many health issues.

@@Gloria_Chav why keto?
@@joanneclark8256 Keto triggers autophagy which recycles damaged cell parts into fully functioning cell parts. I thought that might help my hair loss/thinning bc I figured my cells and overall metabolism would improve but I found out later on that keto can actually trigger hair loss. I wasn't able to keep up with it from early on anyway bc the change of foods healthy fats and proteins, veggies, no carbs other than from veggies was too cold turkey for me.

Hi Patricia🧡
You comb castor oil through your hair and leave it on over night with a cap on. It works. The castor oil does take a few washes in the morning.

What did you do pls?
Thank you so much for doing this video! Especially for us vegans who are also experiencing hair loss. There aren't a lot of people talking about this topic either because it's so scary personal or because they haven't found any real solutions. I'm so grateful that you're willing to share your journey and I'm going to give these tips a try!
Thank you for this video! I've lost so much hair since having my thyroid removed. I used to have gorgeous, thick hair that would break hair ties and combs because it was so thick. I have such a thin, tiny pony now. Definitely going to get that supplement!
Im so sorry Amber!! it's soooo frustrating! im sending you all my love and best wishes!!
I have also lost about half my hair since having my thyroid removed.
I believe, like you said, that birth control was causing my hair loss!

Update?
omg you went plant base and lost hair??? how is things ? i thought hair needed protein like meat .. im so worried to start
Also, LOVE YOU KIKI!
Right now there is new
growth starting to come back. Hope yours is getting better too.
@@beverlybrumbaugh2567 how many months after you started losing hair did it start to grow back?
I am currently in the midst of it. I cry when I shower, knowing how much hair I am losing.
I have been on thyroid hormone for years and am now 67 and feel I’m loosing hair, Thanks for the tips! 🙏🏻
Anyway, this video and your tips have given me so much hope. Thank you!!
I started Complement per your recommendation. I love it. No yucky taste and my hair does not fall out anymore. I also have severe hypothyroidism. I also stopped dyeing my hair 2 years ago.

So many people (mostly women) experiencing hair loss after CV-19. I have also heard that fasting and the Keto diet (too much *fat not enough protein*) can lead to hair loss as well. It was refreshing to see a new type of video on a topic that I really needed! I like your candidness about it all. I ordered the vitamins. Thank you for doing the leg work. I really appreciate it and hope to see similar results.
Hi Gina! Reach out to us anytime you have any questions at all. We're grateful to be a part of your health journey!
I use complements as well! Was wondering if anyone has found a creative way to up cycle the brown jars! I feel like something cute could be made out of them, I’m not coming up with anything on my own or on Pinterest! Would love to reuse them beside just for food storage!
I used one as a vase 💐
When you lose a lot of weight it's common to have hair loss. It comes back, all you need is patience. Iodine deficiency can also cause hair loss.
i tried a full bottle with no issue, and when i reordered, the capsules were leaking. same with the replacement they sent me. i was extremely disappointed. they are so expensive and that was a LOT of money for me, to waste on vitamins I can't take because they are all rancid and stuck together in the bottle.
@Victoria Hanshaw yes, thank you! I just ordered ritual the other day. I’m looking forward to trying it instead!
I have finally ordered the vitamins, I'm so hopeful they will help! Thank you for sharing what works for you and all that you do 🤘
Did they help?
@jennr6928 I never received them. The shipping date kept getting pushed back. I finally canceled the order. I was, however, introduced to a shampoo that actually did and does work! My neighbor sells it, and it's vegan and actually helped grow about 60% of my hair back. It's called Monat. You have to purchase it from someone, kind of like Mary Kay, I've seen it on Amazon, but I wouldn't trust it.
Wow that Rosemary peppermint serum sounds soothing!
So happy you made this video!!!❤️
I feel like age has to do a lot to do with it too. I had to stop eating this way because of my hair loss and my age didn’t help either. It’s barely growing back to what it somewhat was at a year later. I wish I can go back to plant based eating.
I think, and this is just my opinion, that your supposed to eat fruit at least one hour before or after your raw or cooked veggies. I started out eating lettuce and tomato sandwiches and orange juice to wash it down. And I got acid stomach. Now I have a fridge and freezer and stove and don't smash my food together like I did when I first started. Try to eat
And also use organic shampoo from om botanicals. They make it so the hair doesn't fall out.
THANK YOU!
Curious-why Grapeseed oil? Is there any additional benefit as opposed to any other carrier oil? Thank you for all you do.
ya so my friend from India who has gorgeous hair said that the women use grapeseed oil where she is from to make their scalp treatments because its so good for hair growth, so that's what I use:)
@@PlantifulKiki sounds good-thank you
Two months of vegan diet am losing lots of hair.
Thank you so much! I ordered the supplement. I appreciate your content!
@@bunnyhaston Thank you so much!
How has it been ?
@@Cheveuxes they took a long time to arrive here in Australia so it’s only been 3 weeks -I’ll wait for another few before I look closer to see if my hair is growing again.
Update?
@@sharongiancarlo9502 I haven't had the results that Kiki got and have now stopped taking them as they are so expensive
@@wildtemple3229 Thank you so much! I wanted to hear someone’s recent results before I spent all that money on them! I appreciate your reply ❤️
You are so beautiful! Thank you for this video. Can you do a video on how you get your eyelashes that way? They are literally perfect 😍
Brazil nuts are a natural source of selenium and zinc too. Cod liver oil blocks DHT. I keep a bottle in my fridge. Seafood in general is a natural source of iodine and two meals per week involving seafood should be enough for the average person. Food really is medicine and supplements can then do what they are intended to do, “supplement” what we are already putting into our bodies.
is salmon a good seafood? also cod liver is that like omega 3 oils? do you know any safe ones ?
Oooht hand for sharing!! I’ll look them up!
Perfect timing🌹❤️🙏🏼 keep up the great work...you are an inspiration! 🙏🏼❤️🌹
Couldn't agree more!
Love this Kiki! Will share with friends who need to hear it 💕
Can you do a video with pictures of your hair loss. You said you had half the hair you have now.
Thank you so much for this video. I too have suffered hair loss and can relate to your story. I will give your regiment a try. Wondering how often you wash your hair? I’m hearing less is better than more.
So glad i stumbled upon your channel. Love you to bits! ❤️❤️❤️
I started loosing hair after chemical straightening, even after 2 years of medication from doctor the problem is same ,can you please give me some tips?
What a great, comprehensive video! I love Complement :)
We love you back:)
Come back with more what I eat in the day! I miss them 🙃
ok, bought the supplements, I've been slow to get a good vegan one, so expensive but hopefully good. I've been using Costco biotin multi for years but it's not vegan. Then adding B and C and D, etc. I like the simplicity of one supplement
Thank you for inspiring! Erin
Yes! So nice to have it all in one:)
There is also an oil from blue beautify for your scalp that’s amazing if you want to splurge.
I love you Kiki ! You are beautiful and kind and thank you for sharing your experience and amazing tips. You are so inspirational. When I saw plant based i had to subscribe immediately.
