I’m sooooooo glad to see that the TROLLS didn’t keep you away forever! ❤❤❤
lol same
I love your approach. It's realistic and sensible. The extreme of not a drop of oil ever is limiting, stressful, and takes the joy out of eating.
So true
I do not agree. The food is delicious without oil.
You, along with Drs. McDougall, Gregor, Furhman, Esselstyn, Barnard, Campbell, Klaper, Ornish, and Mills, have been a huge part of my WFPB weight loss journey for quite some time. I have always appreciated your sincere and genuine approach to your audience. I don’t often comment on social media but I wanted to let you know that you have made a profound impact on my ability to begin and sustain this phenomenal and life changing journey! Thank you for continuing to share such informative, delicious and FUN content!
aww thank you so much for taking the time to comment💕. I’m so happy I get to be a part of your journey
If a couple spritz of oil helps you enjoy eating a couple pounds of veggies, do it 😃 Thank you Kiki for staying here on You Tube for us 🎉
I have been afraid to say I am living and losing by a 85-90% WFPB life style. Thank You ❤️
Me too.
You are doing amazing!!!
Congrats! No one has to be plant perfect ☺️ as long as it feels good and you're making it work for you that's all that matters! 🎉
cool but what does the WFPB mean ?
@@bitokay147 whole food, plant based
Like minimal processed or no processed food and mainly or all plants
There’s not much I enjoy as much as I enjoy your videos. There’s just something about you that makes my heart happy. So, thank you for all you do!
Wow, thank you!!
Me too ❤😊
That’s sad
I love when you are beeing real and showing that you're not "perfect" all the time, just a normal human beeing as the rest of us 🙏🏻❤
She is perfect
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a video from you! ❤❤❤❤
Same here 😊
So glad you are back. I really enjoy your channel, such a huge help.😊❤
All was good for me until the onset of menopause - it threw a big wrench into my weight concerns(which I never had a problem with and ate whole plant food no oil). I realized I had to keep my feeding window small (6 hours), stop eating about 4 plus hours before bed and really stay in a calorie deficit to see any weight loss. Also had to cut out any alcohol.
I experienced severe anxiety when I was strict on the starch solution. I know my body needs healthy fat. I'm still wfpb but I now eat an avocado every day and I use olive oil and coconut oil in moderate amounts. I also consume almonds and cashews and it has not hindered my weight loss. I also use celtic sea salt instead of regular salt. I did find that if I ate a lot of rice and flour products, I wouldn't lose weight and I would feel sluggish. Thank you for being transparent about your journey.
I experienced the same thing! I reduced my starch and started adding more non starchy green veggies...feel so much better
@@pamtewes5276 Yes!! I forgot to add that I started eating LOTS of bitter greens with every meal. I don't do well with a lot of starch.
@@cameyramirez576what kind of bitter greens?
When I tried the McDougal diet I did lose 6 lbs in one month. However, after a few months of eating like that, I couldn’t balance the blood sugar from all the rice and noodles and even fruit. I broke out all over my face, back and chest with dozens of tiny white pimples. Never in my life did I experience that on any diet. I would honestly suggest limiting the rice and pasta and fruit to small amounts.
@@laurawrld2097 Collards, micro greens, chard, kale, etc.
I am 99% oil-free but I live alone and I'm not going to make hummus (which can't be frozen) or falafel (too time-consuming for me at the moment), I already spend quite a bit of time batch-cooking, etc.. So I do buy these foods from the supermarket from time to time (or if I feel virtuous simple have the beans/chickpeas from a can). I can't be completely salt-free either but I still eat the same quantities of potatoes and other foods that I would eat without salt, I do not overeat, and adding a bit of salt or crushed veggie stock on my soup/casserole at table just makes the food so much tastier. I am working on reducing the salt content and also the sweeteners I put in my coffees, I have halved the quantities but I don't think I can eliminate these altogether. I'm very slim and have maintained my happy weight for 4 years now.
I freeze my hummus regularly, it's fine honestly.
Thank you for your pep talk! My downfall is that small handful of nuts or raisins, the couple squares of chocolate. Carrot sticks just dont scratch that itch for me in the evening. So I am not in a calorie deficient and just on a plateau. At 63, you have to be so strict! But hearing your advcie helps me build my resolve. Love your kitchen BTW. So nice to see the warmth of wood and that you keep your appliances out.
I had cravings in the evenings often as well, especially for something sweet. I made gluccie (glucomannan) puddings, chocolate mainly, but there are other flavor recipes as well, and those were so satisfying. I sweetened them with date sugar or maple syrup and they are delicious! No fat in them when using plat-based milk, and the glucomannan is a wonderful fiber, so it's good for us as well as filling. Highly recommend! :-)
@@user-re3td7fu1d thanks for the tip..I have gluccomannan but never made anything with it.
If the handful of nuts or raisins or some chocolate make you happy just keep the ritual. Instead see where else you can cut to balance it out- for example just starting your breakfast later so you have a good fast period and then just eating an equivalent amount of calories less for dinner or lunch and you will have a more happy balance.
@@ellen9354 I did intermittent fasting for years (late forties until i was 55) and skipped breakfast. My morning cortisol got to be so high lifting weights in a fasted state in the morning. DId not work for me. I do much better eating breakfast otherwise I overeat way more in the evening as I am really starving! I appreciate it may work for others.
You don't have to buy your trigger foods! Have you tried chestnuts (vacuum packed, roasted, dried, boiled), they are nutty and virtually fat-free, filling and delicious! Another option is starchy veggies, I have just discovered nutty, sweet Jerusalem artichokes (sometimes called sunchokes), also different colour beetroots, they are so nutty and satisfying.
I love how you keep circling back around to hot sauce because I GET IT 😋
Yeah, a new Kiki vid! Enjoy your videos because you keep things real.
She is so honestly great
Nice to see you back on TH-cam 😊
She had left?
Thank you so much for this video! I'm 67, 230 lbs and now having heart issues. I'm starting my vegan journey on June 1. I just ordered Starch Solution and your Plantifully Lean - I ordered the spiral for $23.99 so I can have the book open in the kitchen.
Finally the voice of reason and common sense in the WFPB world! Wish I knew this 9 years ago. The ultra strict, SOS free advice from most plant doctors has worked opposite in my case. Thank you!
One thing I learned is that vegetables actually increase your metabolism!! SO IMPORTANT! I lost my 35 lbs staying full and I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis! I thought I was stuck at 175 lbs forever. Also I dropped all nuts and avocado while losing my weight. I LOVE getting full and satisfied 😅 Oh and I did plateau a couple of times but just stuck to the SAME way of eating, cut my portion size a little and started losing weight again!
I always love your authenticity- especially in this space.
Thank you for the info you share! It is so appreciated! So in need of this lifestyle!
Thank you for this! Can’t wait for your new book.
You're so inspiring and motivating! Love you, Kiki!
Thank you for being so honest and realistic…
You are just the shiznit Kiki. So kind, generous and patient. You deserve all the love. ❤
Thank you Thank you!!! This is really helping to understand.
Happy to catch your videos on regular YT recently. Thank you! I enjoy your content 💛
Thank you for the new video, so helpful 💕
So happy to see you back. Wonderful info. Even for a longtime plant based eater.
You are so inspiring--to me. So glad you stayed
Can’t wait for new book
As always, Kiki, you're spot on! Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information.
I love the way you explain things and are realistic. That's why I follow you and I just started your Plentifullly Lean. I am already
experiencing success. And I Never feel deprived. Looking forward to purchasing more of your cook books.
Thank you Kiki! More practical tips! Genuine and compassionate ❤
I love your honest tips!! So helpful
Very good timing for a pep talk! Ive been starting to losing my mojo as my family (and myself) isn’t liking bean tacos almost every meal. Im in a rut and this has led to overdoing the treats! So, I’m going to check out the recipe book!
I have been doing Dr. McDougalls program for 9 years. I am still 150 pounds at 5'2". I cant say i never cheat but i primarily eat exactly the program, including the 50/50 plate. I am 76 years old. And of course i have your book (and gave it to many people)....love your videos and they never cease to reinspire me.
Always looking forward to your videos both here and your membership channel 😍 it is so valuable to revisit the basics every so often and thank you for laying down the points so clearly. It is reassuring to hear all these from you because you have been through this journey and have made it practical and doable and you are a great example 🙌
Would love to see a what I eat in a day video since I know you are more raw at this time . ( would love to hear how your health markers are doing and hopefully everything is in balance 🙏🏻 may be this is something that you can share on the members channel at some point if you feel ok with doing so🙏🏻
Thank you for everything, Kiki! Absolutely cannot wait to get the new book!!!
You're awesome Kiki. Thanks for posting these great tips 🎉
You're so good at what you do. These days I don't need any diet information and my weight is fine but I thoroughly enjoy every video you put out.
Thank you Kiki!❤️ I’m just starting today on your recipes in your book! So excited, thank you SO much!🥰🌺
This is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable videos you’ve made so far! I’m in a similar headspace, and I wish I had known these things years ago!
Thank you for all your information!
I love all your videos. I m so happy you’re back on TH-cam.🌞
Terrific video Kiki - you have such good recipes - thank you.
Kiki, I really appreciate your approach to healthy eating. It's just what I needed to hear today! Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. I've been following you for a couple years now and am always excited when a new video is posted.😊
You are adorable! Thank you for all the info you share for free. You are the best ambassador for a WFPB diet!
Hello from Los Angeles, and thank you Kiki for sharing your healthy approach to losing weight and keeping it off. The information you provided was really helpful to know. I'm so glad that you're back posting on TH-cam.😊
I just love you! Great talk!
Thank you so much for this video ❤ the overwhelming amount of conflicting information is hard but you are definitely a voice of reason and sensibility thank you 😊 love your books I can't wait to get the new one which is released on my birthday 😊 ❤
I’ve been following you since 2021 and you have taught me so much! You make this way of eating so straight forward and simple. I totally agree, in order to live a happy and healthy life, it is so helpful to learn how to adjust your go-to meals into a WFPB version so you don’t have to give up all your favorites! So glad to see you.
So glad to finally find a video that takes and realistic approach to WFPB and weightloss. I have been trying for a few years and always fall off becasue of the restriction I find on social media. I started with the Starch Solution and was doing fine until I started watching videos that have so many restrictions. Then I was not sure if I was doin it correct?? There was much shaming in FB groups that I unsuscribed. I have your book and it is great! I use a bit of spray and eat avacados for my fats. I am having some health issues so this video is timely - I will start being more consistent. Thank you for always sharing ❤
I just love and appreciate you, Kiki! 🤗 ❤
That was so much fun to watch. Thanks PK. I have never fully read the starch solution. I think I might just for the full background knowledge. thx for the nudge.
Hurray! A new Kiki vid!!
😍Thanks Kiki, I'll save this video for my patients. You say exactly what I have been preaching to my patients for decades. As a plant-based M.D. Thank you for your valuable videos and recipes. Greetings from Munich
Glad you are back on YT. I am not on any other social media so if you don't post here I don't see it.
This is a really good video. Going SOS free at the beginning threw me so much. I learned that quickly that I could not live that way. I don’t eat very much sugar so that wasn’t a problem. I use a little oil spray and salt and continue to lose weight. Thank you for all your hard work
Love this and am so thankful for you and your content!
So so beautiful ❤️ your videos are literally like a big warm hug 🫂 thank you Kiki youre amazing 😍😍
Kiki, thank you for sharing this. I love your approach. It's really about sustainable consistency. Ever since I eliminated the all or nothing mindset i have been seeing results! Thanks to you 😊
I love you Kiki and. I am glad you are back! Thanks for all your advice and encouragement
Omg! Thank you so much for being honest and authentic! ❤ I’m so tired of people trying to portray and push perfection! It’s not realistic at all….
This video is so helpful Kiki thank you for your help ❤
Kiki thank you for being my mentor and inspiration. ❤
Kiki, I'm so glad to see you here. You have inspired me to really try to lose the last 35 pounds I didn't lose on my previous plan. I had a coach there and did well. Then health issues and a moderate weight gain and now need to really work on my body. I have watched you faithfully for a couple of years now and love your approach to weight loss. i have read several of the books you recommended and have a fair understanding of the plan. However, I really love your videos and feel like you are talking directly to me. Thank you so much. Please stay with us. Many of us need you!!!
This was such a helpful video. Thank you KiKi!
You are so welcome!!
Amazing information, thanks Kiki
Great tips!! Thank you so much!! 💜
Thanks for sharing Kiki. As someone who has not fully transitioned to WFPB, I truly appreciate all the help and advice that you share.
I have actually watched this 2x already. We appreciate your honesty and sincerity.
Also, I haven't used "table salt" in probably 10 or 12 years. But..I do use "Real Salt" that is mined here in the US and also i use pink Himalayan salt. They contain the minerals that we need and haven't been stripped like the box salt from the grocery stores (didn't want to mention their brands) that have been known to cause High BP.
There's definitely a difference 🥰
Thank you! It really is about eating mostly WFPB for good health. For me, the weight naturally (and pretty effortlessly) came off once I was eating real food, Salt, sugar and oil I agree can be used MINIMALLY…this way of eating I can keep up for life. You make this lifestyle much more enjoyable. Keep being the great inspiration that you are! I use your recipes regularly!
Good advise. Very helpful. Thank you!
Hello fellow Coloradoan. This information is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much.
Yay!! Glad it was helpful!
This was wonderful information!
You really are amazing! So kind and helpful ❤
Thank you❤ Not just starting but have never lost a pound. Have read the books. I’m excited to read about the balanced eating and how to modify
What could I say Kiki?! You are inspiring, thoroughly encouraging and wonderfully loving. It is all about the positivity I get though you. I am a member of your invaluable channel and a lover of your books 📚 SO looking forward to the Plantifully Simple book 📖
As usual, lots of love from 🇬🇧
Thank you so much!!
Fantastic video! Thank you so much for this. I go back and forth with adding fat then no fat etc. It is confusing when you listen to so many voices out there. I just love your normal, practical approach which is so achievable 😊
I just found you and so glad I did! Love your videos and your journey! Thank you for sharing all your stories and awesome recipes! Keep up the awesome work 😊
I NEEDED this video! Thank you so much for your information! I am so thankful for your knowledge and journey. Happy to report I have FINALLY broke my plateau, thank you thank you!!❤❤
Happy to see a new vidio from you ! Thank you !
FANTASTIC VIDEO!!! LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!! ❤
I've tried so many extreme diets, precisely following the rules and they actually created more issues like binge eating and something akin to OCD around food. I love your Plantifully Lean cookbook, waiting on the latest and in the meantime, I ordered The Starch Solution. I've been mostly plant based for a few years but I need a 12 step program for nuts!
HI! Kiki yes please add more videos. Thank You!
Thank you! Great information I love watching your podcast. I have been WFPB for nine years and I just couldn’t lose weight until I started doing the starch solution. Have lost 69 pounds I have 13 to go and it has slowed down greatly so this information will be very helpful. I have your first book and your second book on order .❤I love your recipes and your channel. Thank you so much.🥰
Thank you Kiki..I love this video..your videos have helped me so much on my WFPB Journey.. I have followed you since your first video. Thank you for all you do.❤
Thank you for this. I was stressing out so much about small amounts of oil/fat from time to time.
Loved this, thanks ❤
So happy you are back! I love your content and you Kiki! I sadly can’t join your network right now because of financial constraints but will definitely be on this channel every time you post a video. I have Plantifully Wholesome and Plantifully Lean, and I’ve pre-ordered your book and am excited to get it ❤ My new challenge is perimenopause (I’m 48) and a knee injury so I’m not getting much activity other than normal daily tasks and maybe walking the dog (shorter walk). I find you very inspiring and I REALLY needed this video today. Give’s me a little « you can do it » pep in my step 😊 Hoping you and your family are doing well ❤
I’m so glad this video was helpful!!! I hope you heal fast 💕
Thank you for sharing your experience ❤
Great discussion😊❤
I love when your vids pop up!! I will never stop watching them even though this plan is not working for me w/insulin resistance, hypothyroidism and menopause. So many whammy's against me. I can't imagine I'm alone in the boat of this plan not working for weight loss. I'm only losing a little weight if I don't eat carbs. I will continue to use your amazing recipes for health until I can get my hormones fixed. Any advice for IR sufferers?
WONDERFUL advise!!! I am hugely agreeing! Esp about the oil point and activity needing to be a part of not just the weight loss but the body shaping many people assume come with weight loss.
I use very minimal EVOO bc it helps my hair and skin stay healthy and its healthy in smaller quanities, but mainly bc when I was paranoid/scared of having any made my relationship to food so UNhealthy, and I "fell off the wagon" and would hate myself. So allowing it minimally as part of a calorie-deficit focused count is a big tip Im applauding!!!
Kiki, I have and use regularly your cookbook, am so ready for the next one next month, and I know you dont really go into activity/exercise often, but I would love a vid on what keeps you in the shape you're in, not just the weight you're at! Thank you so much for this content, Sister! 🌺
Thank you!!! I’m so glad you like my book and content!! I will definitely do a video on my exercise these days
Kiki, I absolutely love you and your channel, I’ve been watching you and Hanna for years, so funny back when you got started and you said in your video Ppl are saying you guys should partner together and you were like I’d absolutely love to know her and now you guys are friends…lol ( God works things out for our good) that’s how far I go back to watching you!
Thank you for playing a huge role in my WFPB journey, it’s because of you I decided to make the change!
You have always been very encouraging, positive and joyful and I look forward to videos from you! ❤
My lifestyle wouldn’t be what it is if it had not been for you!
Keep shining 😊
I love love love this channel. I ordered your first book, Plentifully Lean, on Amazon yesterday.🎉🎉. I can wait to make so many recipes. On a new health journey.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@PlantifulKikithank you!!! My first recipe will be potato waffles!! Can’t wait. Thank you for having this Chanel!
Thank you. I appreciate this 😊.
Perfect timing for me, thanks! The way you explain things really speaks to me :) I'm exactly there - things have worked until the last 5 lbs and now I know I need to tweak things. Definitely too much "allowed treats and bread" not enough veggies and wet starches. The simplicity and delish factor of your book and recipes have made my weight loss yummy and doable. Thank you Thank you! I have to ask -what lipgloss are you wearing ? :)
Buy her cookbooks!!!!! They are the best!!!!!! ❤
Great intel,thx!🎉
Kiki, I’m really pleased you addressed the issue of oils. A little amount is actually really needed for the lubrication of our inside organs and joints. In Ayurveda this is discussed extensively. But I 💯agree that North American foods are laced with way too much unnecessary oil and fats. Canola oil is very damaging to the gut lining and nervous system. A teaspoon of good quality EVOO or another quality plant based oil in cooking is very nourishing and healthy for long term health.
