I live in British Columbia, Canada. Our provincial "flower" is the Dogwood tree. It is not yet greened and blossomed as it is too early but when they open, they are glorious! Their colour is a lovely creamy white - have never seen the pink before - but I love seeing these great proud trees dappled with the green and white throughout our region. Thank you for this video - can hardly wait to try it!
This dogwood wreath reminds me of the three dogwood trees on our childhood front lawn. Two were white and one was a lovely pink. Your painting and description are appreciated for your enthusiasm, skill, and creativity in every tutorial. I always feel excited to try my hand at many of your works. Thank you, Harriet!
My goal.now ...this minute..is to awaken your senses and open your heart to the truly magnificent overwhelming huge treasure chest you are presenting to me..to all of us who are earnestly trying to bring lifelike palpable realism to the beauty of what we have known in this life on earth or even trying to put what we feel but can't be seen into some form we can look at and be reminded of that experience. I don't think you realize the gift you give by sharing your talent like this, but I m hoping you will feel the love sent to you in return ..like a hug back only forever existing in space...if you ever feel insignificant, keep this thought like you would keep an instantly replenishing savings account...there for your withdrawal open for business 24/7. I love flowers...love pink..love that you are making it possible for me to have a guide who helps me bring beautiful memories to reality. I will do my best to paint my own wreath, and whenever I look back at it, I will remember your gift. I can tell you because I have been here many many years that what goes around really does come back around. When you share yourself with others, remember that you are loved. Thanks so much... Beautiful! I was looking for a tutorial because I wanted to have a go at a painting for my Mom. We had a gorgeous pink dogwood tree at our home of over 50 years at the bottom of our driveway and I am looking forward to bringing back some memories by painting this for her. Thank you! P.S. I painted a stunning picture of crocuses by following your tutorial! Keep em coming!❤
How incredibly dainty and beautiful! Thank you for yet another stunner! I'm off to give this a go.. You are such a superb teacher....thank you very much!
Dear Harriet, this is really lovely painting! Everything makes sense, the shapes, the color combinations. Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Have a nice week!
Ahhhhhh, this was such a beautiful painting. My Mom loved the dogwood flowers so. I thought of her so much while watching you. I can't wait to try my hand at painting this wreath. Thank you!
I have two dogwood trees in my garden, both of them are white and the petals change into light pink. But one of them have really big petals and that is amazing. I love them both and when the petals have gone then they get a lovely fruit it looks like a berry. Your painting is lovely. Thanks a lot for it.Bye
You are such an amazing teacher Harriet! I have learned more about painting with watercolours from binge watching your videos in the last four days than I have in my full 41 years! Thank you so much, and I’ll be joining your Patreon ASAP!
Another beautiful painting, love it. I'm "jealous" of the control of your hand with that very small brush, my hand always gets a bit shaky😧. Thank you for this tutorial, you're a great teacher🌸
Very beautiful! Thank you for your teachings. I would have liked to see how you removed the pencil lines from inside the petals after color was applied. Will you please explain how you did that? Thank you!!!
Thanks Candy, it was simply a case of rubbing it out but I wobble the table and camera if I do it on film. For more on this subject watch my video all about the best pencil to sketch under watercolour
I am such a fan! Your are a truly gifted artist, and I absolutely love your fine descriptive details and that you paint slowly in real time. The fact that you are a lefty and have that gorgeous accent are bonuses. If I am honest I will say that I don’t like music behind tutorials. With the exception of when the artist isn’t giving instructions. Some people do just want to relax and watch soothing videos and hey helps with the demands for content. Since I have said this much I will also say I wish you would think about the placement of the paintbrushes perhaps move then off camera and show when you pick them up, I guess I think you may have more room for showing the mixing and use of water. Nonetheless you are simply brilliant, I have been successful in following your instructions and liking what I painted. Thank you for all the work you put in and sharing this awesome gift to the world!
Are there dogwoods in the UK? our are on the East Coast. I had two when I lived in Va. A white & pink. My son love playing in the fallen petals. Every year in D.C. it is a big attraction. Beautiful
Having had a yard full of white and pink dogwood trees, your blossoms are missing a bit. In the indentation at the top of each petal where it looks a bit scooped in, there is a touch of brown or in the case of very young, a touch of yellow-green. This makes for their most distinguished look. Maybe the UK has a different species, but you might want to look up and see how much charm this slight addition adds to the blossoms.

@@deWintonPaperCo the paints look like they were made to fit that palette which has unusual shaped sections. Can you buy individual pans to fit this palette? I'm a bit confused! I've not been able to find a palette that looks like that with a google search.
It’s beautiful! I’m excited to give it a go. Please give a “without background music” option to watch your videos. The music is horrible and definitely detracts from your excellent presentation. I’m having to watch without sound because it is so intolerable. ☹️

Hello, may I ask, how would you do a wreath of white dogwood flowers?
I have many tutorials on painting white flowers. Just look at those and use the white flower mix instead of the pink in this tutorial
What size paper are you painting on? 8x8, 12x12?
9X12IN :)
What kind of paint set are you using and where did you get it from
It’s a loxley folding palette and all the colours are pro quality either daler rowney or Winsor and Newton
@@deWintonPaperCo the paints look like they were made to fit that palette which has unusual shaped sections. Can you buy individual pans to fit this palette? I'm a bit confused! I've not been able to find a palette that looks like that with a google search.
The circular mixing plate with ridges, where can I purchase it?
It’s by Tom’s Studio, just google that and you will find it!
how do erase the pencil under the painted areas?
