    Another hint for removing tape, which I teach my youngest students especially, is to heat the tape a little with a hairdryer beforehand. It helps soften the adhesive so that it doesn’t pull at the paper as much.

      Does a heat gun work to loosen tape and dry between layers?

    • @Wonderkell74
      @Wonderkell74 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andreamartin1957 hi! Yes it would definitely loosen tape. I can only assume it would dry between layers

      @@Wonderkell74 and, I have a hint for you. If you dab the strip of tape on what you're wearing a few times, the tape picks up enough lint to keep it tacky enough to use but still comes off the paper without tearing it. Did that make sense?😋

    Having all your favorite accessories in one video was very helpful. Earlier this year I was looking to purchase an instrument to apply masking fluid. I forgot about the rubber tipped applicator you use and I purchased the two-pronged instrument that opens and closes using the twistable circular disc/knob (hope I’m making sense). Now I’ve watched your video you reminded me of the rubber tipped implement and how useful it is for small areas! Oh well never mind 😅. Thank you for sharing!

    Thank you, I'd also recommend reusable bamboo paper towels, they just have a lovely absorbent and soft texture and are great for blotting or drying your brushes. When mine get dirty, I put them in a little bin until I have enough for a quick wash (separate from other fabrics) with a little dish soap or castille soap on a cold wash cycle. Then I air-dry them and reuse them. They last for multiple washes if you don't use any bleach (whoops, did that once and they sort of disintegrated).

    I have a 10cm wide 5-brush-rest from Studio of M.M. that I very much like.. I use plastic palettes because they are easily cleaned with an eraser. I really like the finger glove you have - very useful! and I agree about the tape.

    I have always cleaned my brushes with warm water and non toxic soap. Rinse and I keep a bar of glycerin soap and lavender essential oil. Which helps keep moths from eating your brushes. Of course you don't want moths in the house. I just have always cleaned my brushes this way. Thanks for all the useful information.❤

    I wonder about the second eraser that was being used, the one with a wooden handle. I love the tombow one for small and precise erasing, but the bigger retractable erasers I've tried so far feel a bit to hard sometimes.

And for the brush holder i fashioned one from sturdy carboard with v notches to hold them in place. In place of oxgall i use glycerine. However i do not use cheap paper ,arches blocks for me.

    As always, thanks ever so much for sharing your talents with us. I did have a question about the hardness of pencils that you preferred. It was my understanding that one should use a softer pencil for watercolor paper, as a harder lead can indent the paper, leaving a permanent mark. Do you draw with very light pressure? I realize a very soft lead can smear, so I use an HB.

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question - I should have been more clear on this point 👌 I use 2 or 3 H but very very lightly. My goal is to just barely see the outline so that if it’s covered by darker hues I don’t even need to erase at all 😊 thank you!

    Hi Anna, absolutely love your artwork. Please advise for someone who's still learning watercolour and may not use it that often, as I use colour pencils more, would you advise the use of watercolour pans or tubes. What would happen if one adds the tube paint to a pan and rarely uses it, or use it two or three times a year? The other question I have is whether normal soap can be used to clean the paint brushes?

    Anna, thank you for this wonderful video. You covered a lot, in a short span of time. It was great. Also, I need to say that I do not tire of watching your videos. You are truly Blessed by The Creator. What a gift to be able to watch you paint! My beginning in art was abstract drawings. I began with bright white paper and intensely black ink. As I began to heal, via art, I started to feel inspired to use color pencils, glitter gel pens, etc. Now I want to learn the art of water color, and you are truly an accomplished water color artist. One of the things, or qualities about you, that stands out for me, is how down-to-earth and modest you seem. I find that quality so beautiful in anyone, but most especially when an individual is so gifted, and yet there is no pretense to their demeanor. You are truly beautiful: within to without.
    I live in the U.S., but would love to take a vacation and visit Canada. Do you teach at any school, local center, etc. It would be such a treat to be able to attend one of your classes in person.
    I'm not going to be traveling any time soon (not unless of course, I win the lottery), but please let me know if you do hold classes in person, and if you have a schedule. Please let me know, at your leisure, of course. Thank you!

    Hi Anna, thank you so much for your detailed tutorials and videos. I can tell you put a lot of love and knowledge into them. Something that I am struggling with is how to “see” layers of color to build (ex: your layering video of the climbing rose). While you painted orange, blue, coral, red, and yellow, I only saw light and dark red areas. Do you think you could make a video on how to “see” the layers of color in botanicals to make them look more alive? Thank you so much and I am so happy to find your channel 💕❤️💕
