    Sofirn has available short tubes and the 18340 batteries that fit the CS31 Pro which brings the Anduryl system for those interested :)

    I keep buying the (bottom of the line) edc Olights as they keep going on sale for just postage, I think I'll be on number 5 shortly...handy in an emergency but well...better than a smoking habit though ?... Keep up the good work, I wouldn't buy a decent one without watching it on your review first.

      Thanks so much, I try my best to do a detailed and helpful review of each light. I must get a few Olights to test as I still only have a few. Certain companies never get back to me re reviews and some have demands when you do a review so I say no. But i can get around to buying some. just have to wait though i got an acebeam and that was expensive.

    I’ve ordered one as I like the tint 😀. It can use primary cr123’s with a reduced output which is handy as a backup option.

      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point, I tried a olight cr123 and it worked fine but like you say the output is reduced. More options is always a good thing with lights though so good work by sofirn. Let me know if you like it, I enjoyed using it and the size makes it a rather nice gift.

      @@TrailTrek I like the tint, I’m surprised they didn’t use anduril, I love the voltage meter on anduril. I have 3 cables which work with it so far. The newer olight rechargeable batteries also work in it which is a bonus considering I must have about 16 batteries. I’d prefer a clip which would allow you to have it on a baseball cap a bit more flush as it extends beyond the rim. A score of 7 is fair score. I’m going to do a run time test versus baton 3, baton 2, fenix e18r and some old cr123 olight batons ( they have a warm tint)

      Yeah it's a good small budget light. I was going to get one for my dad but he likes headlamps better so night get him a Wuben H1 instead.
      Sofirn keep on releasing value lights that I can say are worth owning, as long as you have a cable that's the right width in this one

    Great review and thanks for the brand comparisons at the end. I love the Klarus but it doesn't stay on turbo for very long at all.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Yeah i tried a few cells and the Klarus can sometimes step down rather fast.

    Very nice one! But i am cautious of the rubber seal at the charging port. 🙄

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah i always wonder when they have these ports if the ipx rating is accurate but its one of the less floppy ones ive tested so far.

    I always wonder if the rubber flap is just extra protection - my phone is IP67 and has an uncovered USBC port, so it must be possible without the flap.
    Also - please could you try the lanyard on for size, Richy? My new EA01 has one that only just fit over my wrist! I am a big bloke, but it should fit all sizes.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah i know what you mean i think the flap is needed, the reason i say this is due to phones usually using a hydrophobic internally to protect electronics where in these budget lights i doubt they have done that. Here is a quick demo of what that type of factory coating will give the internals: th-cam.com/video/BvTkefJHfC0/w-d-xo.html
      The lanyard is ok on this i never use them but it fitted my hand although yes its very basic with no sinch on it.

    Always love to hear your thoughts. Been waiting for this one from you.
    That's a real shame about the USB port. That's actually a deal breaker for me - the inability to use any USB-c cable I want really knocks off a few points for me as well. Sad.
    I've also heard a few clip-related complaints from early users as well.
    Supposedly Sofirn is working on an Anduril version, which makes the light slightly more appealing, but we'll see. It may still be worth getting for me if they bong Anduril 2 in there.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah its such a simple thing to get the port the right size but i cant let that side. im hearing various things about the clip, mine was not tight then im getting messages from viewers saying their clip is mega tight and hard to use. So that sounds like some QC issues need to be put in place to get a standard fit. If they andruil the light and fix clip issues and port size this will be a real gem of a small light!

  • @graemeo3440
    @graemeo3440 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My clip is the opposite. It is so tight I struggle getting it to clip on my pocket.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If yours is very tight end move is loose then that may suggest they have quality control issues. I mean the clip on mine is fine but I just would prefer it tighter. I wonder if it can be bent a little in a vice to change its tightness.

    Thanks for the review. Can it hold up Turbo for more than a couple of minutes with every charge, including the initial run till stepdown? I have a similar pocket light with 16340 700mAh and it doesn't seem to like going Turbo.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah turbo is ok for its size, i had an old klarus that hated turbo for more then 3 seconds but this is much better. Has stepdown but its reasonable in the cold nights.

    I know the manual says the light is not compatible with a CR123A. But have you verified it? Thanks in advance.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ive all but thrown out my older CR123A cells so cant check but i see your point why should it not work, unless they want to avoid people trying to charge them??

    The "not every single USB fits boo hoo" criticism... it doesn't bother you as much when you're used to Olights proprietary charger. Lol every USB I own fits mine so I'm happy. Lovely little torch 🔦

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fair enough if that works great for you. I have a few mag charging lights and they are quick when I go in and out of the house.
