East Tn. Got into yellow jackets in my horse barn in my hay this week. Dozen stings all over. Could not use chemicals around hay. Mixed this up, sprayed at least 10 nests at night. Worked beautifully. Instant kill. Cleaned up stragglers today. Cost of 2 gallon: 1.50. Awesome. Thank you.
I used to be a garage door fitter. I am allergic to wasp stings. The garage door had been broken for years and we had to break in to remove the door to install the new one. I discovered the nest and instantly withdrew and told the customer. Massive! wasp nest inside! She was about 90 years old lived through world wars, she came out with a broom and just smashed it to bits lol all that whilst she was giving me grief! "whats up with you, it's just a wasps nest lad". She got my respect instantly. old battle axe!
Why would anyone dislike this video? Anyone who's been stung by a wasp/yellow jacket knows the agony. Also it's fatal to some. Great job on the video. Thanks.
and " tired of buying this expensive stuff?" doesn't look so well these days when that bottle of dawn costs as much or more than the bottle of brake clean.
J Fig , he means that by not messing with the TH-cam algorithm, if a video has a certain ratio of dislikes , it does not get recommended to the viewer OR does not come out in the top of the search feed
There would probably only be half as many "thumbs down" if he hadn't kept pleading for people not to do so. More often than not, reverse psychology just works better.
This video was one of the very top videos. It is obvious, many people like him far more! His video and authenticity and warning is totally awesome!!! I really appreciate him for explaining why it works and show how it works. I think it will become my new bug spray. I have a better understanding why the wasp trap works.
Tip. Purge the spray line with water if you are going to keep the container full of the solution for future use or the line water will evaporate and the soap residue will crystallize and clog the spray head.
This is partly why people buy the canned spray; it's just convenient. You don't have to stop and prepare something. There's the problem you describe and then there's the soap you have to clean off of whatever you spray whereas the commercial poison just evaporates right away with no residue. I will use the soap method from now on in spite of the inconvenience and cost of the sprayer.
Thanks for this, I agree, I respect all life BUT protecting my family is my top priority and wasps tend to be very aggressive. This is a much better solution than toxic spray. You rock!
So I'm installing gutter guards and get to an inside corner, where I'm having trouble getting it to fit. Several days pass while I mull over my predicament, and in that space of days some wasps decide the underside of the guard is a good place to build a nest. (We've had no rain) So I figure a solution to my problem, go up the ladder, and get repeatedly buzzed by these wasps. I had some Ortho foaming spray, but couldn't get it to work in such a tight space. Then I watched your video. I made the soap and water solution you recommended, and at 1:30 am I went up the ladder, and sprayed. OMG it worked like a charm. When the wasps flew out, I sprayed them directly. So tomorrow, I will finish installing on the inside corner. Thanks for providing a super-easy solution!
Just tried this this morning using a simple spray/stream bottle. Hit a number of wasp nests underneath my second story deck. WOW! I am so impressed. Thank you for this tip. I always hated that spray stuff anyway. Always worried about getting it on things like my car and me. Most anything I spray on now I can just hose off. (Including me.) Now I just need a better sprayer to hit the eaves of my two story house. Thanks again.
Squirt some dawn inside the sprayer and down your hose. You can wash your windows while you are at it. Reload often don't rinse them off once you've soaped them
We've had wasps around the gazebo for seven years. Although we spend a lot of time there, we've always left them alone. In the past six months, I've been stung three times, undeservedly. They gotta go. Thank you for a gentler more humane solution.
For anyone wondering, when you buy soap you have to make sure it has a degreaser additive because it’s that degreaser that clogs the pores on the insects exoskeleton causing them to suffocate. Just google what insects breathe through an exoskeleton and there’s ur list of what you can kill with it. And usually the best ratio is for every gallon, add 1 cup of soap
Are there any non-degreaser dish washer soaps out there? 🤔 I thought all of them contain degreaser. Are you able to clean greasy plates and cutlery without degreaser? Im just asking bc I can't really match up this brand with any European one.
@zoltanszucs9346 I would think the viscosity of the spray mixture is what bonds and clogs the breathing pores on the underside of the insect. And so I'm thinking any liquid dish soap will do the job as long as you follow the given ratio of soap and water. But of course, if it has the degreasing chemical agent, it should perform more effectively.
I've used this method for over 20 years. It only works on an easily accessible nest that is in the open. Do it at night or on rainy overcast days to get the entire nest!!!!!! I also keep a spray bottle handy for the ones I see flying around where I am attempting to do yard work or home repairs. It will nock'em out of the air in mid flight or wait for them to land.
I think it's better to spray them at night, when they are asleep and they are all in there. You get more wasps that way. Thank you for posting, thumbs up!
@Mary Jane, you are absolutely correct, (ONLY TIME) is at night especially on a cool evening, the later the better, the entire colony is in there in a dormant state. Do it during the day can be dangerous because wasps returning to the nest will defend it vigorously, and if you can't run like hell you will be a swollen pin cushion. Many people are not aware of this fact and will be in for a big surprise.
Right you are. I've not heard any of these wasp killing videos mention that. That's when I do it. When none of there buddies are buzzing around my head.
I don’t think wasp can see very well at night. I was always told to wait until dark to kill yellow jackets because that’s when all of them are in the nest.
I use the same solution but instead of the bug sprayer I use a aquazooka water blaster. It shoots faster and farther with more volume. Fill a small bucket for quick reloading.
Don't apologize for sharing great information that is safer and possibly life saving for those who are allergic to insects. If the haters value insects life over a HUMAN LIFE......the hell with them. Great video, keep sharing them. Thank you.
Or around your hive. You can kill wasps without worrying about your honebees. I would not spray Wasp killer anywhere near my bees. No chemicals around my girls.
If you were a bee keeper you would've noticed the roundup cancer bottle ? Looked like an add for roundup for all I've seen. Good luck with your so-called bee hives.
Came home today to a hornet next on the back porch. I used this formula with a pump sprayer at night and it worked great. Thanks for the info it was a cheep and great way to protect my family and pets from being stung.
@@CHAVEOCHOA This is months later, so probably won't help but don't try to kill honeybees that have a hive inside your walls--call a beekeeper. Spraying may kill them, but then thousands of dead bees start rotting--along with the hive which contains baby bees which will also stink. Then the roaches and moths move in--and you've got a whole 'nother problem to deal with. Only drawback to beekeeper is, if they have cut it out of your walls, it can be hard to find one that'll do it for free in some areas, and there's no guarantee they won't screw up putting your wall back like it was. LOL.
You should try mixing in with the dish soap some ammonia. Since we were kids my brother and I used to use that mixture to kill everything, but we didn't use a sprayer. We used the bottle the dish soap came in because the nozzle on the bottle is perfect for squirting the foam into the entrance of the hive. The reason this works so well is because the foam not only traps the wasps, hornets, etc., but it also helps keep the ammonia fumes in the nest. The best thing about this is not just the effectiveness of it but the fact that as soon as the ammonia evaporates there isn't any residual poison to harm kids or pets. Been using this method for nearly 50 years and it has never failed to do the job. 2 tbsp soap; 1 cup H2O, 1 cup ammonia and shake a lot (the thicker the foam the better).
Glad I found this video while I was trying to find a way to get rid of a couple of little wasp's nests around my house, this is totally what I was looking for something that is environmentally friendly, I don't like killing insects but I need to be safe, I've been bitten more than once and it is really horrible, I dont mind them nesting far away from the eaves of my house but not right at the entrance to my kitchen that is a bit scary, since my hubby passed away I have to take care of all these difficult jobs, this video makes it a lot easier to tackle this. Thanks for the upload it is great, greetings from Down Under
I go out after dark to hunt down and kill wasps, they return to roost at their nests and don't fly at night. This raises the kill ratio per nest to near 100%. It also lowers the chance of being attacked and stung. Happy hunting!
@@sunshin3697 I used to use a propane blowtorch on those paper Wasps with the round nests and white bullet eggs. After dark it makes for a great light show. Until I got stung that is, just enough light. Now I use more conventional methods LMAOOOOO
hahaha ok you obviously haven't tried this, while the foragers will be home, they absolutely can and will sting at night, only difference is they are harder to swat out of the air with your hat
Big props to you and this tech, I just used it in the early morning and at least 30 wasps started falling from their nest while they were just waking up!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Of course, I noticed a potential alternative a few years back, for those that may not like killing wasps. Basically, my dad was grilling on our covered porch, and the cover of the porch had a little red wasp nest on it. Eventually, the smoke must have caused them to assume that the covered porch itself was on fire, because one by one they all flew the nest and never came back.
I dont like wasps and bugs myself but thats no excuse to exterminate anything that can sting or bite your kids. I teach my kids the dangers not only from wild animals but also how to use tools like knifes and machettes and guns even drive a car. Above all i teach them to be responsable for their own actions
@@charlescarabott7692 I teach my kids the same things you do. My daughter is allergic & terrified, thus my comment. Also, one of my friends growing up was cutting his grass, got stung, went inside to cool off & fell over dead. He had no idea he was allergic. I'm all for pollinators, we desperately need them. But I'd like for my loved ones to stick around, ya know? No disrespect intended. :)
I’m with you. My son was stung and they HAVE to go. Never have I bothered before. BTW, when you say don’t thumbs down, people will do so just because you asked them not too. One thing social media has taught me is there are just a lot of people who go out of their way to irritate and be annoying. Sad.
Great job!!! I get t ugh em in my railroad ties. I am going to do this tonight!!! If you ever get stung by a yellow jacket or hornet, put some vinegar on a cotton ball and press it on the sting. Takes seconds to take away the stinging. Works like a charm!!
I cannot believe anyone would give a thumbs down. These stinging insects hurts like Hel. Thanks for this video. This year hornets and yellow jackets seem to be more aggressive. So I will try this solution. I usually buy the expensive stuff but I will try this. Once again, thank you.
I used 2 cans of wasp spray on a nest in one of my exterior walls and the only thing i got was an interior closet that smelled like poison for a week. 1 treatment of soapy water and the colony was eradicated.
U R AWESOME! In 14 years of working in the yard, I never got stung even once by a wasp and then a week ago, just minding my business, taking my cat out for a walk this wasp stung me on the hand. It was a slow reaction, but by the next day, my hand swelled up so much I couldn't take my watch off & it looked like it was going to burst. By then the pain was no longer localized but radiating all the way up my arm. I have got to get rid of them.
Obviously, you're gonna get bad comments and thumb down people out there. Most of them, if not all of them are haters and/or only seeking the wrong kind of attention. More especially with you being respectful, asking them not to do so, and why. Haters are gonna hate. I wouldn't worry about them if I were you. Thank you for taking the time to create this video, uploading it, and sharing with everyone. I've got a storage building infested with wasp, and a huge back porch infested with those big carpenter bees I need to get rid of. I'm gonna try your solution ASAP. I'll update whenever I do to let everyone and you know how it turns out. :)
Thank you for this remedy. In my backyard, It's starts around 7am when I see the wasps hovering and flying around. It's so disheartening because my dog wakes up and needs to go out and go to the bathroom around the same time the wasps come out and my dog has been stung. I bought 2 traps from Lowes and the wasps won't go anywhere near them, and so I did a TH-cam search of how to kill them, and that's how I found your channel and your video about how to kill wasps. Thank you again.
My Dad's dog eats those wasps after falling from those sprays. He's fast at scooping the dead up before she can nab them, but sometimes she's too fast and we hate to think of what she's suffering from those too. I'll run this past him and see how much safer the degreaser might be on mammal's digestive tract in comparison. Thanx for the thought design and more power to the human beast.
Great video. Thank so much. Feels much better than the toxic spray. Hope it is just as successful. I feel sorry for the wasps, but my animals can't be stung by them, especially my crazy dog wants to hunt and eat them. Last year he looked like Goofy when they stung him. Fortunately nothing serious happened as he is not allergic, but I was terrified and took him to the vet, just in case. Now they are back and I won't let repeat that incident again. Thank you very much. Greetings from Europe :)
Good vid man. What else works great for ants is corn meal. Put a pile by the nest and the workers will take it all back to the lair. They cannot digest it and will basically eat until they die.
I feel you, man. I don't like to kill anything I don't have to. I tried to put up peppermint smell around my back patio to dissuade them from hanging out there. However, they still continued to build a nest on the opposite side. I ended up having to do what you did. Good tip.
I use the blue Dawn. The key to how much you put in there is until the water turns blue! Lol I use it to kill fleas and ants in my house. Also ants crawling on the outside of my house trying to find ways in! Glad to know it works on wasps too!
sign543 he's pointing out there's more than one reason to thumbs down a video, there's nothing wrong with honest feedback as the uploader can find ways to increase viewer engagement, and ad revenue as well which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Longer videos are hard to keep viewers engaged due to dead air or excessive rambling at times. I have nothing against this video personally, I'm just looking at this from both sides of the fence.
100GTAGUY The comment he left was condescending and rude. “We aren’t two years old”. That’s just puerile and rude. Many people make videos like this in the style of a documentary, which ARE designed to keep you watching by dragging out what you want to see. There’s an entire industry whose job is it to do nothing but research this method. If you get what you want in the first minute...most would click out. Conversely, if it takes too long, people will get bored and won’t be patient enough to wait for the important part of the video. The comments that bugged me the most are fly-by comments made by people who create no content of their own, but merrily skip along carefree offering thumbs down and goofy advice to people who are actually out there making content that’s useful. Then some bonehead comes skipping along and gives it a thumbs down for no real reason...they just are feeling mean today. It’s too easy to be mean to others online because there is no consequence. If you had to thumb it down standing right in his presence...most wouldn’t happen. The platform makes it easier to depersonalize the people who make the videos...so it’s easier to just be mean or bullying with no remorse. The person clicks away...and the video is gone. It’s created an entire new level of ways to be antisocial and nasty to others.
@@sign543 yeah if I was in his face I would say the same comment, "dude your talking too much, just show them you use soap and water in a sprayer" many thumbs up, people appreciate the content and people may subscribe. Him trying to get a bush hippie tree hugger to think logically is a waste of his viewers time. Criticizing things is the only way to improve.
Great idea! However, I recommend using wasp spray for home defense. If someone does a home invasion, and you have an aversion to firearms (which I don't) use the can of hornet/wasp spray. Hit them in the face. But I'm going to definitely get a sprayer and some dawn and use it on my hornet/wasp nests. Thanks for sharing this very useful and educational video.
Then the intruder turns around and sues you for causing blindness, pain and lifelong emotional suffering because it's a sue happy world. All I can say is that a dead man don't tell lies, maybe invest in a sword instead of wasp spray if you don't like firearms and need a lethal option to defend your family.
@@100GTAGUY Trust me...I don't use wasp spray. I use my trusty Mossburg 500 and my 1911 Kimber with Hydroshock rounds (as a backup). I'm just saying that if someone is against firearms, use the wasp spray.
I like it. I’ve been using it for aphids in my garden for years. For carpenter bees, you can use a syringe with a tube at the end to deliver it deep into the hole.
Brilliant tutorial All these creatures do serve a purpose but we should not allow them to threaten our well being. They should also not be made to suffer. Very well done. Big thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@silth7904 Wasps pollinate and aren't aggressive. Wasps pollinate trees, gardens, and plants, and aren't aggressive. With the shortage of bees, we need wasps. Yellow jackets are the stinging bitches.... kill all yellow jackets.
@@eerisedesined texas. we have a lot of red wasps and mud daubers. yellow jackets are more aggressive to people sweat not so the wasps. all can be vicious.
@@zippyzoe my family is from Texas. Everything is bigger but more docile there it seems. (:. Actually the wasps that live at my house seem more aggressive to me because they keep building under my deck rails and they get a little fiesty when we're using it.
I totally get and appreciate the how and why he asks to not thumbs down it. He is extremely authentic I rehearsed heartfelt and helpful. My situation is nearly identical. I've been ,"escorting", wasps safely away from my living areas for nearly 30 years without a SINGLE incident. Until last year. My nature and bug loving 7 year old Daughter was stung for the first time after a friend unwittingly disturbed a nest. Her hand swelled so fast and we we're not as close to home as I'd like to have been. She was ultimately fine. But the experience put a fear in her that seemed to attract more and she was stung twice more over the next two weeks in different locations within a ren mile radius. It has made her afraid to leave the house come summer and I can't blame her. She always followed my teachings of live and let live and let common sense and calm be your best defense. So not only the pain but the injustice has put me in a different frame of mind about the little meanies. I won't change my core belief if live and let live but I've redefined my approach to sharing territory with wasps. They are NOT welcome on our property now and I even shocked myself last year by using toxic wasp spray which I detest for it's persistent( and harmful), nature throughout the ecosystem it's introduced to. I was pissed!!! I've used soapy water for other nuisances such as squash bugs 😝... but didn't consider that it might work on wasps. Duh!! sweet!!! Seems This brand new bottle of dawn made it into my kitchen for more than one thing!!😎🤠 Feeling lucky wasps???lol
I use this on my roses, diluted more then that though. After an hour, depending on how warm out, then spray mixture of roses with clean water. Kills all aphid like bugs that will eat your Rose bush.
hippiejohn3810 If you leave the aphids, ladybugs will soon follow. Years ago, I had an aphid infestation on two mature Rose of Sharon bushes that were more like trees at that point. I was going to spray them with soapy water but never got around to it. One day I went to check and what do you know? I had an amazing army of ladybug larvae munching down on them! I was amazed! We had so many ladybugs that year! I noticed last year, the ladybugs have made a comeback and this year, the bumblebee population has increased. I hope the idiot city planners don’t spray chemicals this year for the mosquitoes because it kills everything but
I've tried the "we'll both mind our business and everything will be fine" approach with (I think they're) yellow-jackets. There's no such thing as an unspoken agreement. There is no pacifistic way, short of wearing a beekeeper suit whenever you are near them. They gotta go. I don't like watching anything die. But they gotta go.
Same sentiment. I'm not into killing things but in the last week I've had close to 50 yellowjackets enter my house in the shower area where there's some hidden entry point around a window. There's definitely a limit.
I love that, I try harder than they do. I thought that they would just get out of the way for me and my dog, and they don't, my poor dog has been stung and that's when I declared WAR on them, and I had to get rid of them.
Yeah a bunch of safety Sally's running around, we are all self aware and don't want to get hurt, we don't need every TH-cam video explaining how dangerous everything is. I use a mapp gas torch to kill wasps around my house.
Yeah but, if he left the explaining out, I would not know that you can add more than the amount of water that was shown in the video. I would also have missed the humor of his kid accidentally getting sprayed in the face. Don't any of you waste time listening to jokes or watching slap stick humor? I think that, some of you wouldn't be satisfied unless you put your own criticism into another person's work. These same people would be upset of another person critiquing their own work.
+@alpha lobster: Since he has "******" exclamation marks, that indicates that he KNOWS how the word is spelled and that he is adding his own humor to be a little funny. I swear, some of you guys get upset for the littlest things; and may be a bit belligerent about it in the process. Tomorrow, try getting out of the other side of the bed. Then, thank God for your health and for giving you life, and try to be grateful for everything that you ave.
Tried a variation of this today by adding soap and some water to a liquid fertilizer sprayer attached to a garden hose. Was able to get some nests way too high up for me to reach. So satisfying to watch them drop!
Cool tip! And your son's "bloody" appearance made it funny. Nice that it works with ants and cockroaches as well. I saw another video where they said wasps avoid other wasp nests because they do not like confrontation, so you can trick them by stuffing a brown paper bag with paper, then twisting the top closed and hanging it where wasps like to hang out; they will supposedly leave.

Also see his yt video "The Best Way To Kill Roaches Naturally (Without Breathing Toxic Roach Dust)". He described using a red light source at night to catch roaches and vacuum them up; that way you don't have to breathe their rotting carcasses. He also told about spraying a soap solution.
Thanks for a great tip! I have yellow jackets that come back every year and so far your remedy has gotten rid of them, and cheaply too! I got bit last year while gardening and got sick to my stomach for the rest of the day never mind the sting I got after being dive-bombed by this nasty creature. I appreciate your sharing this! Have a great day!
Appreciate this video! We have a wasp problem. And, for whatever reason, they’ve become aggressive. Now they’re trying to build right above our back door! So, I’m definitely gonna give this a try. I saw somewhere that adding peppermint oil to the mix will prevent them from returning. So, I may add that in as well. TFS!
Try hanging a waspinator on your deck. It looks like a hornets nest so discourages them from building nearby. www.amazon.com/Waspinator-set-of-3/dp/B000PWA1PC
Great content. Don't worry about the idiots saying you shouldn't kill wasps because you absolutely should. Guarantee you those people have never been attacked and stung 20+ times. Wasps are mean bastards, and are absolutely dangerous. Short version; I developed an allergy and nearly died. Why? Because I existed in the general area of the nest. I'm glad you posted this; I live out in the country, and nests pop up a lot. Raid doesn't seem to immediately kill them like it claims, and if I get stung, yeah there's epipens, but I'd still sooner avoid the whole situation. Using one of those isn't fun either. Plus they get in the house sometimes too and I don't like spraying toxic stuff indoors.
Hey brother, thanx! Here in Florida during the summer these little buggers pop up everywhere. I’m on this video today because two days ago I was bringing my garbage can down to the corner which I do every week and a bunch of those big red paper wasps flew out n tagged me good. One in the forehead directly in the center so now I get crazy looks going to the corner store if you catch my drift lol. Big red dot in the center of my forehead lol. Anyway, I have lots of beautiful and expensive plants around the outside of my house and noticed if any wasp spray gets on them it kills anything it lands on. So this here is perfect! Already tried it on executioner wasps, ground hornets and this big red n black mofos. Appreciate the help! Those 1.5k thumbs down fools need to get the sand outta their vajayjays and stop being little butt hurt biotches!
Funny, i thought men invented measuring and all the systems we use to do so, not implying women couldn’t, just that we created measurement a long time ago in less progressive time.
The last time I used a commercial spray the wind blew it back in my face. I had numbness in my fingertips for hours. Scared the CRAP out of me. Never again. You can wrap a garbage bag around a nest at night and seal it. All dead. Also, Diatamacious Earth down the hole. Thanks for the vid. :)
I know this comment was from four years ago but for anyone looking for pest control solutions, a caution that if the pest is bald-faced hornets, their jaws are powerful enough to chew through even heavy-duty plastic garbage bags.
thanks for the content warning, i had the ample time to prepare myself for hornet content. thinking about trying this on my nest in my garage but im not sure if a wanna go buy a sprayer
I prefer the badminton method. You get plenty of exercise and you know if you miss. Well you get stung! - Seriously - Good video - just cut to the chase.
Used soapy water a lot on outside nests but one thing to note. It can be harder to get a direct hit on lone wasps and that's where the spray is better, even a glancing hit with spray will bring them down, you really need to soak them to get them with the soapy water. Still, it is very good at nailing paper wasps and those that nest on an open comb. For the ones on the tall ceiling of my cabin I basically have to use the spray for the distance and spread pattern.
I wasted my money on 3 of those cans to only still have the yellow jacket bees that built a nest right in the window sill of the house. I will definitly try your way today thanks
Darn, I wish I knew this beforehand. Just spent $10 on wasp spray and it doesn't even work first try. Not to mention it got poison inside my car since the nest was in the car door jamb. Had to spray with the car door open, getting poison all over the driver side interior, which I'll have to waste time cleaning. This looks so much better and safer. Thanks for the tip!
I agree that wasps out in nature should be left alone to do what they do. Wasps in yards need to be eliminated. Thanks for the video, and your kid is a trooper! Also, I really liked the sound of the dripping rain in all that lush green you have.
Sorry but you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, yellow jacket nest in the wild can become literally the most dangerous thing you can ever encounter in the woods. Wild nest pose a much more deadly risk, being hidden and unnoticed until too late most of them time. I have seen yellow jacket nest the size of a car, if a kid just walked up on it, he wouldn't make 5 steps without dropping dead, and that is no exaddderation in the slightest. KILL ALL WASP. PERIOD> I am a bee keeper and wage war on them every year. My bees will take care of ALL plus more than a wasp or Yellowjacket will do. Don't even get me started on the bald faced hornet... That is a mean SOB

I have to admit this is a blessing and a malediction. I'm cleaning out the loft of my garage and I need to kill the Wasps up there. They are circling. I would rather use something that won't hurt me and I'm glad you showed this video.
You are better off carrying a gun, an attorney will have a hey day with you for carrying and using something to harm humans when that is not its intended purpose. You will be sued in civil court and they will take everything you own.
Jon Marshall they cant prove that you carry wasp spray solely to defend against humans. You could be carrying it for its intended purpose and then use it against a threatening human because that’s the only useful thing you have at that time. No attorney is gonna have a field day with that lol
Don't worry only in car when I am traveling. And I am allergic to bees....very allergic. And in order to get a hand gun I need a license in NYS. plus can't take into Canada, I have talked to lawyer.

I liked your video. The only thing I would criticize is you apologizing to everyone for doing what was necessary. Haters are haters and you can apologize all you want, they will still leave bad remarks. You can't please everyone.

Several days pass while I mull over my predicament, and in that space of days some wasps decide
the underside of the guard is a good place to build a nest. (We've had no rain) So I figure a solution
to my problem, go up the ladder, and get repeatedly buzzed by these wasps. I had some Ortho
foaming spray, but couldn't get it to work in such a tight space. Then I watched your video.
I made the soap and water solution you recommended, and at 1:30 am I went up the ladder, and sprayed.
OMG it worked like a charm. When the wasps flew out, I sprayed them directly. So tomorrow,
I will finish installing on the inside corner.
(Including me.) Squirt some dawn inside the sprayer and down your hose.

Yeah, bees are chill. Wasps are jerks.
if anything the store bought aerosol is more humane as it’s quicker
See your reward for leaving them alone?
@zoltanszucs9346
I would think the viscosity of the spray mixture is what bonds and clogs the breathing pores on the underside of the insect.
And so I'm thinking any liquid dish soap will do the job as long as you follow the given ratio of soap and water.
But of course, if it has the degreasing chemical agent, it should perform more effectively.
I guess you could call it a CLEAN kill
Now that's good humor

I've used this method for over 20 years. It only works on an easily accessible nest that is in the open. Do it at night or on rainy overcast days to get the entire nest!!!!!! I also keep a spray bottle handy for the ones I see flying around where I am attempting to do yard work or home repairs. It will nock'em out of the air in mid flight or wait for them to land.

Good idea Thank you .

@@CHAVEOCHOA find a local beekeeper and they will usually come remove the swarm for free. Don't kill bees. Bees are a vital part of the ecosystem.
Don't kill bees dumbass!
So you sprayed "one" hornet? Paranoid much?
How do I store ammonia

Of course, I noticed a potential alternative a few years back, for those that may not like killing wasps. Basically, my dad was grilling on our covered porch, and the cover of the porch had a little red wasp nest on it. Eventually, the smoke must have caused them to assume that the covered porch itself was on fire, because one by one they all flew the nest and never came back.

sign543 he's pointing out there's more than one reason to thumbs down a video, there's nothing wrong with honest feedback as the uploader can find ways to increase viewer engagement, and ad revenue as well which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Duh!! sweet!!!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME & TROUBLE TO MAKE THIS HELPFUL VIDEO
OK, basically after the whole video, it’s water and soap shaking up and sprayed correct?
Yes
"I'm a dude, I'm not gonna measure it out."
...This is why women outlive men.
Funny, i thought men invented measuring and all the systems we use to do so, not implying women couldn’t, just that we created measurement a long time ago in less progressive time.
He earned my down vote for saying it "un-ironically"
Hell yeah, that's what I'm talkin' bout. I don't got time to be measurin', I got a wasp genocide to take care of.
@@hiimlolo9811 what's the issue with the word?
The last time I used a commercial spray the wind blew it back in my face. I had numbness in my fingertips for hours. Scared the CRAP out of me. Never again. You can wrap a garbage bag around a nest at night and seal it. All dead. Also, Diatamacious Earth down the hole. Thanks for the vid. :)
I know this comment was from four years ago but for anyone looking for pest control solutions, a caution that if the pest is bald-faced hornets, their jaws are powerful enough to chew through even heavy-duty plastic garbage bags.
thanks for the content warning, i had the ample time to prepare myself for hornet content. thinking about trying this on my nest in my garage but im not sure if a wanna go buy a sprayer
just mix nearly boiling hot water and dish soap in a pot or jar and throw it onto the nest.
I prefer the badminton method. You get plenty of exercise and you know if you miss. Well you get stung! - Seriously - Good video - just cut to the chase.
A RoundUp sprayer? That's ironic lol
Lou Grant doesn't need our money.
Tom Zahlman : Yeee Haaaaaw! We gonna round ‘em up an brand us some wasphoppers! 🦟
Yeah Dawn dish soaps new commercial..
Kills wasp. But cleans dishes to😂😂
Darn, I wish I knew this beforehand.
The surfactant (detergent) reduces surface tension in the water (makes it “wetter”) and water enters spiracles and ‘drowns’ the insect.
water is wet :O
@@squidy9078 ladies and gentlemen we have our answer
I'll take 'Wet things ' for $500 Alex...
@@George-nx5lo You're sort of a radical nut job. You really need to "beehave."
Pfbbbt LOL
@@user-mr9uy9gj5l Radical nut? interesting, please do everyone a favor and casually walk past a car size Yellowjacket nest and allow hundreds of thousands to deploy on you, lets see how radical you become.
Wow... I can't tell you how many cans of that stuff I've bought. You just saved me a lot of money. Thank you!
Good job. Dawn dish soap is a miracle item itself - like white vinegar is for way more than anyone can imagine!
FRED R what’s white vinegar good for?
Yes...lovely petroleum product.
@@teresaadams2410 White vinegar helps remove attack pheromones, that way you don't get wasps camping the area you destroyed for the next 2 weeks.
And we wash our dishes with that stuff.
Worked like a charm! I HAD about 20-30 wasps nesting in a soffit under the roof overhang. Waited for them to settle in for the night and BAMMO! Lights out!
I'm surprised mosanto allowed you to live lolol. GREAT VIDEO. THANKS.
2:00 Getting bit while doing a video on wasp spray 😂
InDatParish I searched for many years and then I found this comment
LMFAO
Just did this tonight with the sprayer and 1 gallon of water, 1 cup DAWN , worked like a charm! I may not have needed that much but it was my first time trying it. I have lots of extra to use up on dishes now lol. Thanks for the video!
You sir just saved me some dinero. I tried this and voila it works! Thanks...dude😆
You get a thumbs up from us for the tutorial once you got to the point and the alternative way to get rid of the wasps.
Thanks for the info.

I have to admit this is a blessing and a malediction. I'm cleaning out the loft of my garage and I need to kill the Wasps up there. They are circling. I would rather use something that won't hurt me and I'm glad you showed this video.
You just keep on killin them wasps- you have my permission.
I keep wasp spray for intruders....the 2 legged ones....also in my car when traveling.
You are better off carrying a gun, an attorney will have a hey day with you for carrying and using something to harm humans when that is not its intended purpose. You will be sued in civil court and they will take everything you own.
@@aknar1999 excellent point, and very true. I prefer the hand gun as well.
Jon Marshall they cant prove that you carry wasp spray solely to defend against humans. You could be carrying it for its intended purpose and then use it against a threatening human because that’s the only useful thing you have at that time. No attorney is gonna have a field day with that lol
Hi , Marjorie .I believe carrying a wasp spray and leaving it inside your car during summer is extremely dangerous .Be very careful
Don't worry only in car when I am traveling. And I am allergic to bees....very allergic. And in order to get a hand gun I need a license in NYS. plus can't take into Canada, I have talked to lawyer.
Nice remedy I got tired of buying expensive bug sprays, thank you soo much for your tips man, I'm just the average gamer who just makes gaming videos and this really helped 2 thumbs up man
The DAWN of a new era in wasp annihilation.
Noooo, you're doing it all wrong! the way to do this is 2 sticks of TNT under the deck- boom, they gone! Haha, no, while I absolutely love honey bees, wasps serve no purpose in one's yard -kill'em all! Thank you for this insightful, money-saving alternative to wasp-spray, I appreciate it! Take care!
I liked your video. The only thing I would criticize is you apologizing to everyone for doing what was necessary. Haters are haters and you can apologize all you want, they will still leave bad remarks. You can't please everyone. If someone left one of them a million bucks, they would complain that it's in 100s and no place will cash a Cnote, but they would complain that smaller bills are too much to carry out. Keep making the videos, I'm subscribing & will like your video.
Start the killing boy!..Do it now dammit!😴
