The Arabic word Qarn (قرن) in the hadith (e.g. Sahih Bukhari 2651 and others) literally means "century" and scholars generally also interpreted it as "generation". Also the Imams of the six most authentic books of Sunnah (Imam Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasai, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah) and many others are not from the "first three generations" but are included in the first three centuries. So IMO both are acceptable. And ALLAH knows the best.
No. You should not pick and choose or cherry pick from each madhabs. Follow one stick to it. As a lay person, you do not have the knowledge of deciding whether one of the four imams received correct hadiths or not. These great imams had dedicated their lives in the persuit of knowledge of the deen, have you?
yes as Syed Mahbub said, cherry picking is not how it works. you cant just pick something that you like from one Madhab and then you dont choose another because you dont like it. this is not correct. as laymen we trust a scholar with their conduct, Aqeedah and knowledge .
Assalamu alaikum I am 16 years old and I am a English medium school student in class 11th but my English is not perfect😅 I am hanafi and in TH-cam some people say it is Sunnah it is not but I don't have any evidence that they are saying is true or not neither I know Arabic nor I have read sahih bukhari aur sahih Muslim etc books of hadees I only listen hadees of prophet Muhammad sallahualaihiwasallam quoted by them and they say hanafi prayer is not acceptable etc etc I am confused some times I loose my confidence in praying I am loosing my mental health please please please guide me what can I do ?
Stick to Hanafi madhab & never listen to or watch these kinds of salafi / ahle hadeeth stuff . Just don't corrupt your mind & your heart with it . Stay away from it as much as possible .

What does SALAFI mean sheikh? Is it a group of people mandated and mentioned in the Quran, that we must follow them whatever they tell us and that they are infallible?. Or that they are normal people so we must respect them like the other Muslim scholars!!!. I think the later statement is correct.
There is no such thing as a salafi. The group of people calling themselves salafi today are actually wahhabi. A better term than Salafi would be Mohammadi.
@@sev9139 No, wahhabi means follower of Abdul wahhab Najdi. It does exist, there's an entire book called Fitnatul Wahabiyya written by the grand mufti of Mecca.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan. Just follow the Messenger of Allah SAS and the Glorious Qur'an.
Its not "century" it should be "generation" Allah knows best.
