@@Azamkhan-yv5th that's why you should follow a Sheikh who gives you fatwa according to your situation. And you should follow it without wondering which madhab he follows. Because as a layman you don't have any madhab.

These words of him speaking show that he does not belong to madhhab. And what they hide is the madhhab leaders are mujtahids, we are mukalids. If we have to consider following Quran and the sunnah directly, then we are not suppose to have positions jn the society today such as "lawyers", "professors", "engineers" and so on. If everyone was able to learn and practice directly from the source, most of the high end professional will be of no use. Then why we have them?

So basically, at 5mins he his saying for ordinary people find scholar you trust and respect and follow his teachings but don't follow a Madhab. Essentially teaching that "go follow modern day man and his Madhab because he gives you daleel and evidence but don't follow the great Imams of Fiqh and the great Jurists of Islamic Jurisprudence. Uthman bin Farooq.... We say to you" no thank you brother " we would much rather follow a whole galaxy of scholars who have delved into the evidenfes of the Qur'an and Hadith to establish the methodology of practising Islam e.g. Salah

In order to understand the minhaj(Islam Iman and Ihsan) of the Salaf properly you must adhere to qualified scholarship and you will only find that in a school of Islamic jurisprudence

Secondly, if we adhere to islamic school of thought we have already closed the gates to the wider access of knowledge out there. Nothing wrong with following madahibs and sticking to their fiqhi opinions, they have their own Usuls and evidences(i.e adillahs) from the Quran and Sunnah.
It's all a question of USUL and extracting rulings from the text with them, salafis have their own and madahibs have their own. Nothing to do with "not following the dalil".

Madhab were established after the death of the prophet (s.a.w.) At the time of the 4 prominent imaams, not every authentic hadith was avaliable to them. So some of the rulings whitin these schools of thought aren't based on authentic hadith. Because when they lacked evidence from the hadith, they had to use logic and the information avaliable to them to make rulings.
Lets take the Hanafi madhab for example. It was formed 150 years after the death of our beloved prophet (s.a.w.). Abu Hanifa (RA) was one of the smartest people who has every lived. However, he didn't travel and he didn't have access to alot of authentic information. This means that Abu Hanifa (RA) had to use logic to form many of his opinions. This is also the reason why the Hanafi school of thought contradicts many authentic hadith. Abu Hanifa said to his followers; that whenever they heard an authentic hadith, his own opinion then becomes irrelevant.
The point is that some rulings within the schools of thought contradict the authentic Sunnah. This was simply because the scholars at the time were limited to the authentic information available to them at the time and place.
What the sheikh basically points out is that someone who is not a scholar should follow a madhab. But when they see an authentic hadith that contradicts the ruling of their madhab, they should follow the authentic Sunnah above their own madhab on this matter

@@tvp06i your information about the formation of the Hanafi madhab if factually incorrect. The imam of the school died 150 hijri, born 80 hijri. By the time of imam Abu Hanafa's death, the school was already established. That is the reason why he had more students than the remaining 3 mujtahid imams.
