Mercedes W110/ W111/ W108 column shift reverse gear repair

If you are having trouble selecting reverse on the column shift of a Mercedes Fintail, this video will show you how to replace the column shift bushes to fix the problem. This repair is the same for a W108 manual, but also cars with auto gearboxes. The bushes disintegrate and allow the selector shaft to earth against the horn ring, sounding the hooter.

Mark, I bought these from a local supplier in South Africa. The rubber bushes are available in Europe from a specialist, like Niemoeller.de

@miggatenogokui2474 The Vulkolin bushes should be 111 997 05 40 (you need two) and the clear plastic bush on the shift lever is 111 268 03 92. Please confirm these numbers first with whomever supplies you. You can order the parts through a company like niemoeller.de
