Yeah, nothing like Marty. Void of feeling, expression, slides, expressive bends...he just "played" it. A lot of people can do that, technically. You could listen to 1000 people play the same solo and not miss a "note", but you'd be able to pick out Marty playing it, instantly. It will always be his masterpiece. It's what is in between the notes that sets him far ahead of Broderick here. Not many guitarists are like that. Ty Tabor is another example. Vai is probably the king of instant recognition. BTW, Broderick didn't play it right.

I come from mainland china, and I fucking love Megadeth so much.They brought the show to Beijing in October 2015, but 'holy wars the punishment' was forbidden by the government. In the end of the show, we, the crowed, shouted together:"holy wars! holy wars!", wishing to hear it deeply from our heart. However, Dave had no choice:"you know I can't play that song", but surprisingly, he played the opening riff of holy wars for us. I was so moved at that moment. I also saw Megadeth's performance in Wacken 2017, as you metalheads can expect, it was a perfect show with 'holy wars' being the last song. In 2013, Metallica also came to china but 'Master of puppets' was killed from the song list due to some rules. In this place where the people are declared to have 'freedom', it's metal and rock music that give me the strength to free out my emotions. Thank you, Dave. Thank you, Megadeth!
This video was the first time I ever listened to Megadeth. I was blown away - I remember seeing this guy with a crimson flying V Guitar, hair covering his face whilst he played the most badass riff I'd ever heard. I fucking love Megadeth.

The notes are correct yes, but the phrasing is not even close to perfect. The bends and vibrato that MAKE this solo, just as much as the note choices, are really half arsed, like he's just "playing to be over with it".

Megadeth has always been my favorite metal band. Their first two albums had a slight jazz-fusion influence from Gar and Chris, as well as this incredible speed metal style. Then their following albums got more thrashy, and just as beautiful to me, given that thrash metal is the best in my opinion. I think people go on about Dave Mustaine's personal beliefs and character a litle too much. He is a genius in my opinion, and has so much creativity still!

How everything including the solo was so perfect is amazing! This song I keep coming back to since I was a child. It's amazing they could replay it live, just like in the studio.
This video was my introduction to Megadeth. I was fucking blown away by it. The intro, riffs, that dean red flying V and the fucking solo had me. Never looked back since then.
When the live performance sounds better than what's on the record (incredibly rare), you know you have a phenomenal band. Broderick's version of Friedman's solo is excellent, but it will always be Marty Friedman's Magnus Opus.
Honestly one of the greatest compositions in the rock and roll music world. Forget the fact it's a real fat n heavy thrashesque style attack on the WHOLE and ALL of the rock world - RUST IN PEACE was a landmark and hugely iconic. That swing rhythm throughout hits me hard. Cant believe it was almost 18 years ago I played guitar along to this song. Damn! I was at UAB that time and watched them played at the old sloss furnace. It was crazy. We were doing mosh pit and pit circle and stuff. Those were the days. Now, kids are too busy capturing pictures on their phones they forget how to enjoy the moment.
I'd also appreciate them not being straight up fucking suicidal for no reason. I listen to really heavy shit, but I'm no stereotype. I'm a really chill, happy go lucky guy, and in fact, most metal head dudes are! Josh Smith Dave Mustaine always picks the best guitarists. Kiko Loureiro is without a doubt an amazing choice for the band, Dystopia kicks ass. Chris Broderick was great too but I personally would place him third because Super Collider was horrible and I wasn't too big on Endgame.

Yeah this is live, though Mustaine's voice was edited on the high notes because unfortunately his vocal range is limited after he had neck surgery.

When the live performance sounds better than what's on the record (incredibly rare), you know you have a phenomenal band. Broderick's version of Friedman's solo is excellent, but it will always be Marty Friedman's Magnus Opus.
Honestly one of the greatest compositions in the rock and roll music world. Forget the fact it's a real fat n heavy thrashesque style attack on the WHOLE and ALL of the rock world - RUST IN PEACE was a landmark and hugely iconic. That swing rhythm throughout hits me hard. Riffs that give me stiffs 😁

Cant believe it was almost 18 years ago I played guitar along to this song. Damn! I was at UAB that time and watched them played at the old sloss furnace. It was crazy. We were doing mosh pit and pit circle and stuff. Those were the days. Now, kids are too busy capturing pictures on their phones they forget how to enjoy the moment.

I'm a really chill, happy go lucky guy, and in fact, most metal head dudes are! Josh Smith Dave Mustaine always picks the best guitarists. Kiko Loureiro is without a doubt an amazing choice for the band, Dystopia kicks ass. Chris Broderick was great too but I personally would place him third because Super Collider was horrible and I wasn't too big on Endgame.

Red Bing well to be fair this show was recorded in 2009 I believe and Marty was in the band during the 90s the recording sound will mostly sound better here
