SNL sucks because they write weekly, so they're pressured to put out lazy sketches, and focus their efforts on talent and production. But if the writing sucks, the rest of it crumbles. The current brand of humor their writers push just lacks subtlety, fail to take advantage of the talent they have available, or feel phoned in half the time. It kinda reminds me of how MADtv had Key and Peele, and their sketches were poorly written but saved by their performances, and now with the Key and Peele show, you can see the difference good writing and production makes. I will say as a caveat that occasionally SNL produces a pretty good sketch, like the evil scientists with the rock, or the avatar font one.

I feel like they wrote a lot of her jokes to where the punchline was just "haha she's a loud black woman." it bothers me to watch sometimes because I truly feel like that's the joke they're going for instead of something actually funny.
Different kind of "okay." In the Key and Peele skit the "girl" uses okay with a bunch of different emotions to convey a different meaning. The point of Chad it seems is to be the opposite, which is showing almost no emotion when he says "ok." The Chad thing is probably meant to be relatable to people who know someone who only say ok to things.

exactly, when i was really young, in my opinion, snl was in its prime. It inspired me to want to go into show business when I grew up, I wanted to be a comedian. Now, I still plan on doing what I wanted to do as a child, but it hurts my heart to see my favorite show from when i was a kid go to shit. Hopefully this is just an off period like they’ve had before and they can get some better writers.

Different kind of "okay." In the Key and Peele skit the "girl" uses okay with a bunch of different emotions to convey a different meaning. The point of Chad it seems is to be the opposite, which is showing almost no emotion when he says "ok." The Chad thing is probably meant to be relatable to people who know someone who only say ok to things.

You honestly didn't show the worst of it. They upload only what they want you to see. There's SO much garbage that doesn't get a reaction live that you can't find anywhere online.

exactly, when i was really young, in my opinion, snl was in its prime. It inspired me to want to go into show business when I grew up, I wanted to be a comedian. Now, I still plan on doing what I wanted to do as a child, but it hurts my heart to see my favorite show from when i was a kid go to shit. Hopefully this is just an off period like they’ve had before and they can get some better writers.

The problem is that most of the recent political sketches just aren't that funny. I legitimately despise Trump, but that hasn't made the majority of the past few seasons' political gags any less painful to watch. There have been a couple dingers in there though.
