You changed my mind. I got bored with TOGC so quickly in original WoW. So I was dreading this release. But, having played it for a few weeks now as a healer, I agree that it is a surprisingly fun instance to heal.
It's not bad; it serves its purpose. OG WotLK, how many people had downed Algalon? Nice little catch-up raid before ICC, perfect. In 2023, I don't mind it at all. It's the perfect summer release raid. Log in for 1hr once a week to get everything you need. Guildies, taking a vacation, and you're fighting the roster boss? No worries, grabbing a PUG or two in dps roles isn't going to gimp your raid too much. Want to play more? There are plenty of TOGC pugs going on because it's not that hard, and you can switch difficulty inside, so you can gear up all your alts. The alts bit is what makes it really fun for me. I've ranged and melee dps'd it, healed, and tanked bits of it. Experiencing it from all sides, because it's not terribly hard, has really made it interesting. If it was released in October, I'd have a different opinion.
