Hi Monkeyfamily! What are your thoughts on these oversized Playmobil Ghostbusters figures? Do you like the look and design of Playmobil figures? What about the vehicles and playsets? Thanks for watching, everybody; if you enjoyed the video please drop a thumbs-up and share the channel with other toy and Playmobil enthusiasts. With your help, the channel can reach the 1k subs milestone! Let's get there! Have a rip-roaring week! 👍🙏🐵
Hello Monkeyboy! I must admit that both you and Skeletor upload really good videos! I must also admit I'm not over the moon with these toys particularly, but they are pretty nifty nonetheless! Hell, I'm still amazed that there was a toy Ecto 2 wagon made that you showed us some time ago! Anywho, I hope that your week is a great one (Skeletor hasn't mentioned anything about Beast-Man leaving poo in the freezer, so here's to hoping that he has stopped🤞).
@alexjames7670 Thanks Alex! I appreciate the kind words and encouragement! Yeah, Playmobil figures aren't for everybody. I think they really divide opinion. I guess because I had loads as a kid, the figures have high nostalgia value, even though these particular ones are a modern license. Thanks for watching even though these guys are not your thing; it's cool that you support the channel as a whole, and I do appreciate your time and interest 🙏🙏🐵
@MonkeyboysToys You're welcome! You're right about toys that are not for everyone. I used to like these little rubbery plastic toy figurines called "Clown Arounds" and they parodied things in the world of entertainment like Dracula, Superman, etc. and I used to get teased over them so I understand differences all too well. The irony is that the same kids that did that ended up liking the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. Slightly different in size but in a lot of ways the same🤔
Hi plural noun! That Playmobil stuff from Ghostbusters looks great! Funny to see this larger versions of the typical figures. Everytime they release movie lines I wish I had these in the 80ies instead of knights and cowboys. I Remember a few years ago I bought a few (normal sized )Playmobil Ghostbusters figures, they were sold separately and each figure came with a 'hologrphic plastic pyramid'. I fond that an original feature. Thanks for the review, have a great week Sir!
@sva3897 Thanks for watching, Seth! Yeah these larger figures are quite fun and look pretty cool. I haven't seen those individual figures with the pyramids but I will have a look and see what they are all about. Thank you for the support dude! Have a sexy week! 👍🐵
Nice! It’s good to see the Playmobil big boys coming out. They are actually nice things. Shame they’ve made them a bit of a pain to get out of the box, but at least you had it a go. Thanks for the video and Stay groovy, maaaaaan.
@MattandTheRetroRoom Cheers dude! Glad you found the figures interesting. The thing that puzzles me is the inclusion of the plastic sheets with Slimer on. They look good if you display in-box, but I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with them otherwise. Maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for watching, brother! 👍🐵
I laughed so hard at 0:42 that I was gasping for air! It completely caught me off guard! If you were a kid that collected Playmobil toys, I don’t know what you would do with oversized figures that could not integrate either the other figures. It was like Kenner making that oversized Slimer figure back in the day.
@zantara Thanks!😅 glad you were amused by that part. At least it wasn't a completely wasted idea! I originally bought the figures to display loose somewhere, then I realised that I don't really have a "somewhere" 😅😅 Thanks for watching, Zantara; I really appreciate your interest and support of the channel 🙏🙏 Have a jolly good week! 👍🐵
Hey bud👋great video… I do love the Playmobil Ghostbusters & 80’s lines in general… did you say you had the ecto 1 and wondered if you had the Playmobil firehouse… there’s some great detail in that too.
@CraigAlanMurray1977 Thanks Craig! Yeah I have most of the Playmobil Ghostbusters. Not all, but most. If you check out my playlists you will find a Playmobil one. Yup, I have the Firehouse. It will be on the channel one day when I get around to building it...😅 Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate the support! Have a groovy week man 🙏🙏🐵
@ReynoldsReviews I don't think I would get any more, but I thought these looked pretty fun. Thanks for watching, Luke! Enjoy the rest of your week man! 👍🐵
@AllThings80s Resist! Resist! 😅 Thank you for watching despite your aversion to the Playmobil figure aesthetics! I hope your week is splendid and squishy in all the right places! Cheers sir 👍🙏🐵
@MonkeyboysToys The Funko 7" figures are not quite as accurate as these Ghostbusters ones. I would say they have taken some artistic license with the style of them.
Excellent Job fighting through the pain of cutting the tape! Poor show being defeated by an elastic band! & Excellent job with the in box manipulation of Ray's Ecto goggles, so Net Excellent job for me! Great vid MB dude! Also rather enjoyed the ambiguity regarding the entry or exit of Bolognese in the Cat Pic! :)
@benstutley2904 😅😅 only you could have pointed out the directional possibilities of the spaghetti in the photo. I suppose the sound was also inconclusive. Thanks for watching the video what I done made 👍🐵
@ many thanks for liking the words that I made typed, I received it as an audio/visual experience that only you could contrapunt, many respects sir! My YT Al Gore training is proving successful as @monkeyboystoys now appears in my home page recommendations! The downside is the associated content I am now being offered 😳 -on that note, I’m off to catch @skeletorhimself ‘s Skeletalk ep #111 I’m keeping everything crossed 🤞
@dezt5108 Yes, there are a number of other 6 inch figures, e.g. Doctor Who, TMNT and some others I think. The Ghostbusters set works well in that scale but I don't think I'd be tempted with other large figures. I do have quite a few Playmobil figures to go with my sets (mostly ghosts, skeletons and monsters), so perhaps I will do a video about those at some point. Thanks for watching, Dez! Hope the rest of your week is groovy! 👍🐵
Given that the worst aspect of Playmobil for me is the figures, larger versions of them are less interesting. Given there is presumably no corresponding vehicles or ghost of similar scale they seem a bit redundant to me. But I can see why fans and collectors might like them though. As I have said before, Playmobil vehicles are pretty awesome though. 👍 Even as a kid of six years old I regarded Playmobil figures as "for babies" due to their look. I was won over by the more "grown up" looking Star Wars figures making me feel then that that is how toys should always be.
@reading_MOVIES I expect many people feel the same way about the figures. They're certainly not for everybody. I have a similar feeling about Lego minifigs. I just don't see the appeal. I originally bought the large Ghostbusters figures to display loose, but like most things I buy, I couldn't bring myself to open them. Also, what would I then do with the Slimer designs? Aaaaarrrghhh😫 Thanks for watching, brother! 👍🐵
@@MonkeyboysToys yeah felt the same about Lego. Loved building stuff but disliked the silly smiley faced gits! Yep you will have to keep em boxed! You know it makes sense this time. He he
Playmobil figures could be described as cute, but there is also something of the nightmare about them. I think it might be their ever smiling faces. I can imagine them coming after me in the dark, arms raised, although I'm not sure they'd get very far, what with them not being able to put one foot in front of the other. I suppose they would have to do a hop, which might be even more sinister. Playmobil - childlike and murderous. It's quite nice that you have these, though, especially as they were made in limited number. All the best for the week ahead 👍
@stephengray8374 Some chilling observations there...😅 I can see how the figures might seem a bit creepy and disturbing. I love them! Such nostalgia associated with them I guess, even though these are modern licences. Thanks for watching, sir! I hope your week is a splendid one! 👍🐵
There used to be an independent toy shop not far from where I lived which had a big Playmobil figure standing on a ledge above the sign. It must have been about four feet tall! The shop was inside a small shopping centre near the entrance, and you could see the Playmobil guy through the window. It was a really nice shop with two levels, and upstairs there were loose toys sold at a cheaper price. I think they were ones whose packaging had been damaged. I think it's gone now, but I always thought that was a cool way to advertise a toy shop. I wonder what happened to the big figure, though? Perhaps it still haunts the old arcade? Wherever it is, it would probably look great in a collector's display. May the force be with you... always 👍
@stephengray8374 That sounds cool! These days someone would probably nick an item like that... I've really been getting into Playmobil over the last couple of years, but I think I might've scratched the itch now. Except for the Knight Rider set. And the Scooby Doo graveyard set. And the operating theatre set (yes that's a thing)...
Yeah, I think so, or a brick would be thrown at it to knock it off it's perch. In May of this year, a life size R2D2 was trundling around a nearby town centre and some kids ran up and booted it. I'm guessing it was remote controlled but I couldn't see where the controller was. It made all the relevant bleeps and whistles, and sounded quite sad at the unprovoked attack. I'm sorry to say, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The world has become a comedy sketch in many ways. Crikey, an operating theatre! There's no limit to what can be done with these smiley little fiends. A Texas Chainsaw Massacre Playmobil would probably fly off the shelves. I'd quite like the Knight Rider set, though. It looks so well made.
@stephengray8374 poor R2. I bet the kids didn't even know what it was. Ooh, horror-themed Playmobil would be awesome! The only issue I have with the Knight Rider set is that KITT has a matt finish instead of gloss, so it doesn't quite look right. Only time I've known Playmobil to miss an important detail on a vehicle.
Those are some large Playmobil figures. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for opening. Try to enjoy it. I know it is tough but opening toys can be fun. Do you still have the flick knife of destiny? Hope you have a great week.
