  • Here's a quick revised clip on how I reduced my handle bar vibration on my UCE Enfield. It will work on any model from Classic 500 to B5 to G5 from years 2009 to 2021
Pretty easy fix that actually works compared to some and virtually a no cost item to do the task too

My classic 500 should be arriving next week! I'll let you know about the vibration haha. From your experience of receiving a new bike, what are the sort of things you recommended I'd check? Any small suggestions is welcome. Thank you sir!

well im 450 klm round trip from a dealer so i usually have a bike delivered and thats risky...lol
      1. push down on the front forks and check and see if they have good rebound. a couple of bikes back mine was delivered with front fork spring inserted the wrong way - absolutely no bounce. had to pull them out and re-insert them correctly myself.
      2. ckeck the connector fit on both sensors either side of the fuel injector plus the fuel injector itself.
      3. press fit the spark plug cap
      4. also ask did they check the engine bolts for correct torque. my previous bike was delivered with loose engine bolts.
give the bike roughly 2 minutes to warm up prior to riding and don't abuse it
do an oil and filter change at 200 klm and let the dealer do the 500 klm and stamp the book
as a rule don't trust the dealers. out of 18 enfields purchased from 6 different dealers only one every did the pre-delivery right. the others just put it together and took the cash

@@ridewithwarro thank you very much I’ll keep that in mind. My dealer is also far, I’ll have them delivered too. I’ll keep you posted. I’m new to classic 500 so I might got questions coming at you later this month. Wish me luck! Oh and thank you for your previous reply, not from this post, but previous post you already removed. You told me you have, if I remembered 15 bullets/classic. Vibrations are hit and miss so I’ll see if mine comes with good level or vibration or not. It is hard, as the bike shipped from India, so it’d not like I can replaced a good running bike with extreme vibration. Either way, I’ll adapt to it.

@@alexkennedy3637 plus either way you really have to run the bike in before really worrying about vibrating bikes. say at 1000 klm when you do a top gear pull from 80kph to say 100 kph - that is the area where you'll know immediately if it vibrates bad or not
under 80 kph its very hard to pick a bad bike as its not in the zone....but from 5 kph after your in it
yeah pull the other clip due to a few comments. this clip is more directly to the point

I own a classic 500, yes they do vibrate badly when new, a few thousand mile later vibration will be much more pleasant. Good idea waro but you will never totally get rid of vibration the motor is bolted straight on chassis its old technology and l love it. Pure vintage experience if people don't like vibration buy a honda

hate to dis-agree but over the years i've had classic 500 which have had little to near no vibration right from the fist start.
it all depends on how they machane that crank and slap it together...lol and in most cases they do just that!
in an enfield case its always good to have other rides to calm the way

Seems like the simple inexpensive fixes are always the best 👌

worked fine on that bike or i should say far better than it actually was prior to the task on hand

Did you change the handlebar end weights? If yes, gram????

not sure on the brams but they were 1lb or 16oz each side

That seems like a good and inexpensive tip. But if that rubber mounting works you have to ask yourself why didn't RE do that long ago? It would have been a snap to do something like that at the factory. A lot of other motorcycle companies have rubber mounted their bars in the past. While it can make the steering feel a little imprecise on some bikes, it should be fine on a roadster.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

on this mod i found that i couldn't even tell the rubber insert on the bars was actually there. maybe because i only did just a partial wrap on the riders side.
i suppose if it had been done factory it would be full on and i'd say -rubbery steering effect for sure
if i had a bad handlebar vibrating enfield -i'd try it again. lucky for me this latest bike is far better than the previous terror

Would it be possible to elongate the holes on the clamp?Of the course the radius on the headstock would be of, but maybe acceptible ?

not too keen to try that one...lol

Fitted 1mm 3M VHB tape.I still had, a bit reluctantly , to elongate the big holes in the clamp, just a bit. It is not like chromium plating is springing around or so, it works pretty good in fact. Result is better then what I had expected. Thanks for pointing in this direction.
