Good points, I had to laugh when you talked about the vibration check. My first bike was a 1972 Bullet 500 (many many moons ago) I used to joke that it was self parking - I set it in front of the shed idling and it would move itself into the shed. I had some many issues with that bike, you'd think I never come near a Royal Enfield again. Still I missed the damn thing and 40 years later I got my 2019 Pegasus that had the looks, but not the self parking option (didn't have the automatic rear wheel oiler as well 😁). My biggest gripe with the 2019 one is the rather weak bushings in the swingarm - probably the only thing that was done better on the 1972 Bullet!
yeah the plastic bushing caused a bit of play. hitchcocks bought out the brass one but its a bit of work to fit. i think the best i did on a 500 was just under 10k in total plus a couple of 8k totals. ive passed that figure now on the classic 350 reborn. 500 gots the extra power but the 350 reborn does everything nice or i think so. but i just bought a vespa scooter so not much i can say there...lol

Thanks Warro good info for the novice looking at these bikes. I want to ask would you ride a 500 Classic now if they brought out a new model? Thanks for the video mate.
Yes, absolutely
@@ridewithwarro Good on ya mate, for some reason I think they're great and I've not ridden one yet, just watched people like you and Stuart Fillingham and Bullet Wanderer, you've all inspired me. I'm going to have a look at a trials works with 1000kms on it this week, so I'll be sure to check on the 4 tips from this video. Keep em comin' mate
@@philtwowheels i would pass and buy a new classic 350 reborn -they might not agree but a way better bike
Great stuff Warro.
thanks and appreciated.
Good advice there Warro.
Much appreciated. i think i can tell them quite a bit or far more than any-one ever told me.
Just what the doctor ordered I think.. Have you got a crystal ball?? 😂 I’m looking forward to this series.!! Btw I’ve just picked up my interceptor with the 865cc big bore kit from the dealer.. What a wonderful feel now. Cheers.
yeah that should give you some get up and go. when i had the 650's those big bore kits were more a dream. so you got an upgraded motor and i bought myself a vespa...sounds like a good combo there...lol
all the best!
I seem to remember in your early days you fitting engine to frame reinforcement brackets on the 500’s🤔 Am I right? I think you did a fitting video too👌 I like the 500, but so much prefer the 350😎🤙
yeah i did. plan to go into that side as i have 30 clips in total planned. that i suppose will depend upon the response to this clip and if i continue on.
by the way picked up the vespa gts superports and its that far ahead of the jap scooters i feel embarressed parking it next to the xmax 300
so if these clips dont perform i'm doing vespa ones...lol
plus i think its definately worth paying the aud$13500 -no complaints at all there. scootered on it twice today...lol
@@ridewithwarro that’s awesome to hear! I knew that it is a quality bit of scooter 👌 Naturally, it’s Italian 🍕
@@ridewithwarro that’s awesome to hear! I knew that it is a quality bit of scooter 👌 Naturally, it’s Italian 🍕
@@stevesane800 best of all i can compare it to my 2023 xmax 300 which is a pretty good roomy scooter and the underseat storage goes to xmax and very easy too -plastic goes to xmax - size goes to xmax
but i dont think i will be doing any dirt of this vespa....it just looks too good to trash...lol
@@ridewithwarro yeah, I wouldn’t. Basic gravel roads would be ok, since they have those in Italy quite a bit
Can't beat fuel injection.I think 🤔 you'd be better getting a 500Classic but personally I would go 350Classic.
you know when i had the 2 classic 350 carby jobs i put a sportys exhaust on one and it was nearly as quick in pick up as a stock 500.
my bet if i had it tuned it would have been a pretty good bike
A mate of mine has a mate who's a real idiot I don't like him.He had a Harley Davidson Road King & needed a fuel pump sulked & someone offered him a carb so he got his stock fuel injected bike converted to carb. He's addicted to selling stuff & I heard he went & sold the stock Harley fuel injection🤣,bloody idiot then he sold his pillion pegs for bugger all.He thinks it's worth 12k & everybody laughed & spilt there beers etc😂.He devalued it & Harley boy's told him that & said "I'll get 10k" & mate said maybe anyone in the know give you 8k 10k with fuel injection pillion pegs.A mate had trouble getting hold of him & gave him his old cell phone 📱 a smart phone 2yr old.Next day mate txt him no answer rang him no answer went round to see him thought he's in hospital or something. What he'd done is sold the phone 📱 for $50 on the way from getting phone, idiot. So he got few punches in head but didn't learn anything still does idiotic stuff.I don't like him & won't ride with him or have anything to do with him ain't got time for idiots like that. What a idiot.
@@ridewithwarro Definitely right about running bike in before doing aftermarket exhaust.
@@ruahinesrider yeah i only had 700 klm on both bikes. sat them on 110kph -rode for about 5 or 10 klm came to a hill on one -the gunmetal and tried to pull it in top.
it let go and i got home after that at 40 kph and it was a total pull down.
the other one -sports exhaust -powercommander 5 -sports air cleaner. sitting on 120 kph it just did a quick backfired or fart...lol and lost power immediately and burnt out my second inlet too...lol
just cashed that one and bought another one
anyway i guess i had a bit of fun...lol
just got the vespa too. a great lttle bit of kit. i like it!
@@ridewithwarro That's great news about the Vespa good one.
Some good advice here
well thanks...mate
This model is still available in india 🇮🇳
great bike
Cracks on welds suggest poor welding and impurities in the weld.I be slow buying one them even new. They are long enough making these bikes to have quality control.
the new version are far better built so the quality control side has greatly improved there
@@ridewithwarro Thank for time to Reply.
I hope so the Devil in the Detail. Weld and lose nuts very important issues .love the look of the bikes
@@johnroddy8756 thanks...all the best!
huh. a good tips, thumbs up
Glad you think so! you dont know how much trouble i have getting them to do that and i know the info but they dont co-opperate...lol
appreciated and all the best!
Goofed read RHS. :-(
did you get your gb back on the road. i did a 200 klm run on mine yesterday. battled a bit on way home in a headwind but overall good day out on dirt and sealed
@@ridewithwarro
Hi Warro
Just back from a flying weekend.
Yes got the GB back, new piston, rings, barrel etc. managed to put 600 ks on her. Still haven’t opened up fully but the rattle still appears to be there , will give it the full gas this week.
Went back to Dealer and advised, he is still of the same opinion that he had a Honda Single years ago and it did a similar noise all the time he had it.
One of my sons old racing mates purchased a GB on my original recommendation, hope I don’t have to eat my words to him.
Dealer suggested I take his for a run after he gets up to the end of run in period and take it for a ride.
In the meantime I will give mine the beans and see what happens.
Now you may be able to help as well.
If you have an open face helmet that can enable you to hear.
Take it up to about 3,700 to 4,000 in 3rd or 4th then nail it to about 51/2 thou.
This is the reverse range it occurs.
4th gear near 3/4 to max revs on an incline where it’s working.
If you manage keep me in the loop please.
Cheers
Brian
B wind here is off snow.
@@brianrobertson639 no rev counter so what speed are we talking in 3rd and 4th
@@ridewithwarro bugger I use the tach.
Went for another ride this arvo up the Moonbi’s was in 4 th on the first moonbi.
Doing about 80 to start nailed it up to 110.
Could hear it from 80 to 110. Which corresponds to abt 3,700 to 5500 approx.
will graph rpm to speed next ride.
Cheers
Brian
By the way 110 on Speedo equals 100 gps
@@brianrobertson639 i was pulling a hill today at 100 kph in 4th and heard nothing unusual
