Black looks the best, but is hard to keep clean. I went with grey because it was the free color at the time. My Model 3 Performance is white because that was the free color when I picked it up.
It was mentioned @8:12 that “you do feel the weight” and I have to disagree with that. Model Y P drives much lighter than any other 4500lb sport sedan or crossover I’ve ever tried. It feels lighter than E63 AMG (about same weight), and lighter than X3M (which is a bit lighter). It may be difficult to appreciate their differences on public roads at legal speeds but when pushed to and beyond their handling limits, there are stark differences in the responses and polar moment of inertia of each; that is, their resistance to change direction, or the speed and willingness in which they do so (remember Newton’s first law: objects in motion naturally want to go straight). What a lot of people perceive as weight or lightness of a car are actually differences in steering feel and suspension tuning for ride comfort. Despite the weight of their battery packs, that’s actually what allows Teslas to handle like much lighter cars. Heavy as it may be, the pack is mounted centrally, low, and the mass is distributed evenly… much, much more ideal weight distribution than any ICE car could ever possibly be.
Just got my Y Performance a few days ago. Best money I've ever spent!! so happy and would never go back driving something else. Battery life is not the best but it's worth the stops.

For 2022 Model Y Performance (freemont build) , what is optimal battery percentage to keep vehicle at for those using vehicle mainly for pleasure? 50%?
Honestly, I have no idea. In the past I’ve seen my friends, that have both owned Y and 3’a have it between 40-70%

It’s great in red too 🔥! When I test drove an MYP, I could easily see how peeps could loose control of the car at full acceleration, from the micro corrections the driver needs to make at the wheel

Nice driving....you are actually pushing the car to it's capabilities.
The 0 to 60 slower times is probably do to those heavy 21 inch Uber wheels ( they look great). Gemini wheels are lighter and would knock off about a tenth of a second to 60. Still, it’s the fastest car I have ever owned compared to the 8 stangs I have owned.
Yeah these wheels have affected the driving experience in a way that I think wasn't totally anticipated.
I have owned three Mustangs and almost picked up a GT 350. I have the Model 3 Performance lowered on coliovers an zero g wheels. I just picked up the 2023 Model Y Performance for my wife. The Teslas are very fast, but I still miss the sound of the V8. I kept my manual Dinan BMW M3 for the weekends.
You keep saying “black on black” @1:19, 1:48, 1:53, but just fyi you have a black on white car… with black wheels. Generally “triple black” refers to black paint on black interior with a black convertible top; however Porsche sometimes refer to black coupes with black interior, sitting on black wheels as “triple black”. The Model Y is basically a plus sized Model 3. It’s taller and bigger in every dimension by about 10%. But it’s also about 10% slower (3.5sec to 60mph vs 3.1 in Model 3). Having said that however, the benefits far outweigh that insignificant difference in acceleration; trunk capacity increases by much more than 10% due to the hatchback, rear passenger comfort increases significantly thanks to reclining rear seat backs (absent in the 3), and rear leg room also gets a huge increase thanks to the raised front seats.
The driver and front passenger also have more storage space in the door panels and center area thanks to the taller shape of the car. Overall just a much more practical and comfortable car to use than a M3 and it can still smoke most other cars on the road in acceleration. Lovely.
I'll never buy another black car in Florida again. Dude. It's literally located next to the river Styx. Freaking super hot! I'm thinking white or a silver wrap maybe next time!
Yeah man, I agree. The overall upkeep of black cars is tedious. I would only get a black car if it's a good deal, THAT'S it hahaha.

Doesn't mean anything, they both have the same screen and features in that respect. That was filmed at a dealer when I needed additional clips.
@@gvaspirated but driving impressions are filmed on a performance model? How was it? I tested model Y long range and it runs nicelly but did not have so sporty feeling apart from an instant acceleration

@@Abeinthesky I feel like the performance pushed way more and the power band didnt fall off as hard as the long range. But the long range still gives an incredible sensation of launch. The other components of driving didnt stand out too much for me.

I did a test drive in the Tesla Model Y. A horse and carriage has got better suspension then this car. And that was with the 19inch alloys! In the end I bought a BMW IX3 (in case you like to drive a real car).
