      If you have a S2000 already, it might be more handy to have a larger and more comfortable car to daily like the Type R or Integra Type S. The GR Corolla is pretty small and may not be that practical unless you're regularly going into the city and have small parking spots!

      I appreciate the fun of FWD! You can’t burnout or get wheel spin in an AWD car like you can FWD, I enjoy the theatrics of the FWD. I got my Elantra N for $32k, I’ve had it 3 years now, spent $0 on maintenance since Hyundai includes it free for 3 years. I’ve done autocross and drag racing. It surprisingly does well at both. I’m getting 4.6second 0-60s out of a stock car with nothing but better tires. Hard to beat on dry pavement. I do wish I had AWD in the winter, but I have a second car for bad weather anyways! Can’t really go wrong with any of these 3 to be fair.

      100%! I feel the same way about the GR Corolla. It was my least favourite to live with as a daily vehicle. The Elantra N is really good for what you get at that price point!
      Since you own one, do you ever have issues living with it? The only thing that was an issue for me is the brace in the trunk. I often commute with a lot of gear and having that there kinda hinders the usability for me.

      @ yes 100% the type r holds value very well, but i can’t justify to daily such a nice car in the winter with all the salt we have here on the roads. I feel the type r should be more of a weekend car. In canada an used type r is around 55k and an used elantra n 38k. Even if it depreciates more % the actual amount might be less. Also its more fun to drive and comes with a better exhaust. Also engine down heat soak like the type r. Only thing i dislike are the looks, thats why i bought it in black lol

  • @anthonyscott5484
    @anthonyscott5484 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    EN may not be a hatch, but the N is the best of the bunch for the money.
    Type R still overheats they changed nothing regarding that issue, bad intake design that carried over to this generation, super aggressive rebound rates making the type R unbearable on alot of tracks. And way too expensive. (Yes I can afford one, it's a Civic calm down not a Lambo...)
    GR Corolla, has overheating on the drivetrain (remedies are becoming available). Engine blowing up lately on media posts and forums/Oil leaks, I've seen it leak oil myself in Illinois on a highway. Not a great interior for what you're expecting.
    Elantra N cheapest of the bunch, interior design is nice, not the best materials but not horrible either. Double water pump/pulley design for cooling. Great exhaust and great driving dynamics for the price. EN is just a less refined version of the type R, but much more rowdy and fun and super engaging. Mods are cheapest among the other 2 options and can really dial in the car to feel like a type R if that's your fancy.
    Fun facts:
    Hyundai N X Toyota GR had a festival collab in korea to celebrate their brands performance strides and pedigrees last month.
    Hyundai N TCR is the IMSA class leader in TCR racing for the last 5+ years now, and has won Nurburgring 24HR tcr class for 4+ years straight placed among 21st place out of the hundreds of cars (21st may need to be fact checked im going based on memory but it is low 20s)
    Genesis (hyundai luxury) is entering the Le mans racing

      It is the only car that sucks in inclement weather and is disposable. Given the depreciation rates, there is little bang for the buck.

    • @anthonyscott5484
      @anthonyscott5484 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @layne4376 oh honey the Type R is not great in the cold either. And if anything it's not even as comfy suspension wise as a daily compared to the N. Many type r Owners that transition to the N say that it's more comfy and winter friendly. I live in Illinois believe me..... And pls depreciation you're looking at 25-30% depending on region and use case per nationwide data .. it doesn't help insurance puts the N model as a base model either. That's really not bad all things considered. And compared to the type R the people paying premium for that car don't understand that your resale only applies to the MSRP that's what depreciation is based off of. And mods on the type R is what most owners do anyways spending $10k plus to get it running right, I say THATS a worse depreciation from mods alone too comapred to the N's which are significantly cheaper I can spend $3k for what $10k gets you on a type R or GR

    • @ROVA00
      @ROVA00 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anthonyscott5484dude I don’t think you of know anything about the type R.
      First of all it has active suspension. And if the comfort mode is still to rough for you, the $230 integra suspension module fixes that.
      Second, I paid msrp for the type R two weeks ago. The days of huge markups are over.
      Third, the car is nearly perfect out of the factory. It does not need $10k to “get it running right” by any stretch of the imagination.
      I know you’re enjoying your N and justifying your choice and that’s cool, but at least be accurate about the Type R or drive one before you say things.
