Ruger Marlin 1895 Trapper 45-70: Can you unload any lever action rifle like this? (Pt.1)

  • Can older Marlin lever actions be unloaded through the loading gate like the new Ruger made Marlins?
    In this video we look at a 1950’s Marlin 336RC, a 1970’s Winchester 94, a 2000’s Marlin 336 XLR and a new production Ruger Marlin 1895 Trapper to see which ones were actually designed to unload this way.
    Happy Hunting!

    • @davidr1676
      @davidr1676 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never did get a 30-30 but I've not seen more than a few boxes of Ammo since on Vacation in late 2020 in Arizona. The only thing you could get at the time, unless buying a firearm when they'd sell you a box or two, were huge stacks of 30-30, 30-06, and 12 G (Arizona). I messed up not buying a can or a half a can of 30-06 that fall. The 30-06 and cans of surplus 7.62 NATO were cheap but quality though I was trying to contact family about splitting the cost and that's when I first noticed anything other than 5.56, 9 mm, revolver ammo go flying off "the shelf/floor".
      I guess my point is, has 30-30 come back from rarity from wherever you live? I still want a lever action but I also need to replace a couple of stolen firearms and I tried but I need to get the same or similar types/models to not feel like I was raped.

    Why would you want to ?
    Cycle the lever, that's what makes a Lever Action fun 😀

    • @abonynge
      @abonynge ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It helps reduce damage to the rifle. Using the lever puts wear on both the extractor and the gearing.
      It is a much quieter way to empty the magazine.
      It's great for people who don't want excitement in their life.

    • @elementalist1984
      @elementalist1984 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's also a bit safer than cycling out the shells by working the lever. Kinda like how it's safer to drop the magazine from a bolt action rifle rather than working the bolt to empty the magazine.
      Obviously you should keep your fingers away from the trigger but accidents happen.
