- The Gaumukh Trek is one of the most beautiful Himalayan treks. The mesmerising views on this journey will leave you speechless. The best part is that you can do this trek on your own even if you don’t have a lot of trekking experience. The simple route, complete staying and food facilities, along with stunning views- makes it the perfect choice for beginners looking for some adventure.
This trek begins from Gangotri, Uttarakhand and is a journey to the starting point of the holy River Ganga. Therefore, Gaumukh is a very special trek for India owing to its religious importance. Beautifully narrated.....last year we stucked before gangotri bcz of a huge landslide n thats why we skipped our plan for the trek . Will try after the lockdown ends. We run a cafe and homestay near Chopta saari village. Looking forward for more videos. Keep going 👍

Gaumukh se bs thoda aur duur there is this peak called Shivling. Shoulder of Shivling can be seen from bhojbasa but that mountain doesn't reveal itself until you reach Tapovan. Time stops at that place. It is the most beautiful mountain I have ever seen. Check that place whenever you're around, you would love it.

Did you cross any hand ropeway at Bhojbasa?
You should have taken the left bank of bhaghirathi, the right bank trail broke due to rockfall before June last year.

Hi Jayesh. Glad you liked the video. Yes, local guides are available for Gaumukh as well as Tapovan from Gangotri market area. I don't know how much they charge for Tapovan but for Gaumukh I guess they charge about Rs. 3500 in total as you have to pay for their stay etc. But I am not that sure. The prices may change as per the season. Apart from local guides there are also many trek organisers which take you to Tapovan.

dear when you have covered approx 21 km trek to gaumukh. Then should have also visit to tapovan which lies 4 km ahead gaumukh and must have met 'Mauni' baba .
I cannot stress enough on how bad I feel about missing out on Tapovan! Really wish I had more time 😣

Hi Arkit! Jaane ko aap akele jaa sakte ho aise toh koi problem nahi hoga lekin mera suggestion rahega ki aap kam se kam ek jane ko le jao. Trekking is better with at least one person in case of emergencies. Bhale hi woh guide ya team na ho par koi dost.
