- Readings from first section on "Self and Reality". The Avadhuta Gita is attributed to the sage Dattatreya, who spontaneously sang it after purifying himself in meditation and becoming absorbed in the uninterrupted bliss of Reality. It is regarded as one of the greatest treatise on Advaita Vedanta and some scholars date it as far back as 5000 B.C.
The word "avadhut" refers to one who has renounced all worldly attachments and connections and lives in a state beyond body consciousness. They have shaken off all cares and concerns, possessions and positions, along with all concepts and labels that interfere with his direct perception of Reality.

*Why mind, do you shamelessly meditate?
That’s a good question.
There is a glancing at and occasional non doer experience and recognition. It’s all happening of itself. There is no “me” doing meditation and grace I have been taught is involved too so why then do I shamelessly meditate?
I want awakening more than anything.
So I look, “who wants enlightenment?”
there is no one that seeks enlightenment. So what then, why do I shamelessly meditate.
I see 2 things.
The mind does, it wants to be there to claim enlightenment as it’s own.
And I hear or see current and conditioned responses such as
“There’s no one here that needs or wants enlightenment.
Leading to
“You’re already enlightened. You can give up practicing and inquiry now.”
I am praying for a teacher to help me cross the bridge, parasamgaté.
Everyone is my teacher but I mean a guru whom can guide me personally.
In the dream of life, one can only know what one aspires to.

“Absence of the mind makes it no clearer”. That seems contradictory? I was under the impression that empty mind or silence is what is “needed” for awakening. If there is no awakening then is this teaching simply talking about what is before-life and after-life, not in life?
Mind or empty mind, awakening or non awakening , life or after life are dualities that exist or don't exist only as concepts. There is only you, beloved. Self as all. Right here, right now 🌟🙏🌼
