Great job Jason thanks for your channel. I am learning a lot from your adventures. Really appreciate that you post the gear used in descriptions. A lot of channels dont do this. But it is very much appreciated..tight lines.
Good job Jason - Havn't fished that area as yet but will get out there once the weather settles eh. I have a self imposed slot of 40 to 55cm with old mate flatty as we want to keep the girls breeding eh. Nothing wrong with taking a feed for sure.
Hey mate, how shitty is this weather! And always on the weekend 😭 Hopefully conditions clear up asap! Always a treat when you manage to catch a legal! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey mate, super stoked - it's been a long time since I've landed a descent flatty, so awesome to start of the year strong! How's the fishing going for you? Thanks for coming back! 😊
Yeah Jason, I’ve been watching vids of last couple Months from guys as diverse, both in species they are chasing, Flathead, Tailor and Bream and in areas they regularly fish, from Victoria to Queensland, but I have been looking out for yr videos in vain, I assume you don’t fish through Winter. So here is where I get on my pedestal and give you a bit of an ear bashing, and it’s only because I miss yr vids so much as they are very informative and like me you mainly chase land based as I do. So here I can assure you it is well worth braving the cold as on the beaches, the Winter Tailor run almost in itself worth freezing yr titties off getting out there in early morning to pick off a few big Greenbacks, thenSalmon also on the run and Jewfish better in Winter climes. If you can find deeper water you are in the game for bigger Pelagics such as Albacore, Bonito and Longtail I think anyway. In the Estuaries the Bream and Jewfish are biting all along the East Coast and it’s now that the trophy Bream can be coaxed to hit yr bait or lure they definitely are more prevalent in Winter. Big Flounder are around. From not a little experience I think land based it is a very productive time through Winter if you can get going early and brave the cold. I have found the better fish I’ve bagged have been from these colder climes. At least give me one vid from this Winter to get my teeth into Yrs Jus
Good stuff mate, I wouldn’t trust the blood knot with fluorocarbon, I use the Canoe Man loop knot easy and quick to tie, Flathead fishing is my passion, well done.
Great vidios keep it up but talk with some more inthusiam at the start please also talk about upcoming vidios, how you work your jig and what rod and reel combo your using also what line your using.
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback! I'm always trying to work on myself and presentation. I'm not a charismatic person and always stumble on my words, but I try my best! All my fishing setups are in all my video descriptions below. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Nice catch to start the new year mate. You should do some cooking videos with your sister. I think you said once she does a lot of the cooking? Good to get some meal ideas and would boost your channel also 👍
Hey mate, great to hear from you and glad you enjoyed! Such a great way to start of the year. My mum is a fantastic cook, followed by my sister - but they are pretty camera shy haha 😅 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
Nice fish mate....consider putting it back next time.....they're getting very hard to catch in that area.... especially that size....don't blame U though... yummy!!!
Hey mate, thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Yes indeed - the Brisbane area is getting harder and harder to fish. I haven't had flathead for dinner in ages, so this one was definitely coming home for dinner 🤤 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Jason hasn’t caught too many so it’ll be ok. There are heaps of flatties around mate. Redcliffe is full of sandbanks, flathead country. I catch big girls all the time but rarely keep them anymore. The more I catch the more I learn to respect it…. Same goes for threadies :)
Do you have any tips on choosing a colour of soft plastic for flathead? The water I fish in is clear blue water and is about 3 metres.I was looking at the baby bass colour and wakasagi from the baitjunkie 3.2 inch minnow, would that be good?
Nice flathead. Appreciate the info about where the tide is at when you fish, but can you also tell us what time of day you start casting on your vids please? What matters most time of day, or where the tide is at? Only recently discovered your channel, loving the content, and all the helpful info you give. Thanks.
Hey mate, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Glad you enjoyed and got something out of it. This was early on the morning with an incoming high tide. 2-3 hours before change of tide (low/high) is what I aim for and early in the morning before the wind picks up. But any time of day dependant on tide times and weather conditions (mainly wind strength and direction). Try positioning yourself with the wind blowing over your shoulder to get extra casting distance. Hope this helps - check out my other fishing videos for more tips and tricks. Cheers 🍻
Hey Huy, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. This is a NS Blackhole Amped 2 7' 2-4kg rod and would recommend highly! All my fishing setups are in the description below. Cheers 🍻
Well done Jason on a great start to your year. A good Flattie in the bag. I personally went out on a boat on Wallis Lake in Forster this morn and got a 50cm Flathead on a Halco Mad Eye soft plastic bait prawn, not competing with you just wanted you to know. Stay well
Hey Justin, nice catch mate! Always awesome feeling when you catch a good fish and not going home with a donut. But even better just getting out in the water 👍 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Jason don’t listen to the guy talking about the HERO drag. Generally in the Estuary if you hook a good size fish you have tighter drag for the hookup then really loosen off the drag, so if they want to run they can run, you really want to dial down that drag especially if you hook a big Flattie!! Tight lines!
Thanks mate 👍 When I chase jacks and cod in heavy structure it's 50lb line and locked drag so they don't go back in there hole. But they still get me! 😭
Hey Richard! Yes, this was this morning (Sunday 16/1/22). It was a fantastic morning with the weather and conditions. How did you guys go? Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey Shaun, thanks for the tip mate! I like keeping my drag low but enough to set hooks. Don't want to pull the hooks out with a good fish - especially hard bodies and their little trebles (just hooking on the lips!) Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Come back brah
Great fishing.. 💪👍
Where are you Jason!! More vids please!!!
Hey Jason, glad to see you’re going back to your roots. “Pop, pop …… Pause”.
Hey Nic, thanks for your ongoing tips! Cheers mate 🍻
Not only did u take the fish home, u left your line trims on the ground.

Where is Redcliffe. What country? Sounds like Australian. Just being uninformed. Could be New Zealand?
Hey Sharon, Redcliffe is on the Northside of Brisbane. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊

You are going to regret having that HERO drag so low
If you hook a big one with that HERO drag I guarantee you will lose it
