Hey man, I love your videos and this one is a must now that Christmas time is rolling around 🎅! I was wondering if this could be made with a sourdough starter rather than fruit yeast water poolish? You’ve recently gotten me into sourdough and now there’s no way back, and if it’s not possible, I have no problem with making some fruit yeast water. Thanks!
You can absolutely use a sourdough starter for this recipe! You might need to adjust the hydration for optimal dough development and it might takes just little longer to proof 🥂appreciate your kind words 🙏
You are welcome never tried cheese actually but you can just skip it there are stollen without marzipan ( mostly known as almond paste ) you can also make your own it’s just almond paste with sugar ✌🏼

Lots of inspiration! Thank you. What if not to add the yeast? Will it rise as fast with only poolish?
Might takes abit longer but you can also substitute it with fresh yeast or instant yeast no problem 🙏
