That little mini-cutscene still is absolutely ace. I didn't even know you could really do that in game. I mean I know it's just some scripted events and camera changes, but...still. It looks amazing.
I think that’s how it was originally meant to play out. It’s also included in P-06
I love that added bit with Silver. Really makes this stand out in a good way.

The boost formula actually works really well here, while not coming out as forced
Really shows how easily sonic team could actually have consistant gameplay styles between their games without over gimmicking/changing things all the time tbh

Technically speaking, the spline paths used here are 2D sections, since they constrain you to the centre of the path.

But yea, if the Sonic 06 remaster ends up on PC and turns out like the Sonic 06 that was expected, this would probably be my 2nd favorite game, just right below Unleashed and putting Minecraft to 3rd.

That Silver animation was so cool
This is one of the best Sonic level ports I’ve ever seen. You didn’t just copy-paste Kingdom Valley, you made it your own to make up for Sonic’s speed and not being able to play as Silver, yet you still managed to keep the feel of the level intact.
Plus, you created your own custom camera angles, your own custom set pieces, etc. Excellent job.
Ever since Sonic Unleashed was released, I always wondered what the Kingdom Valley level would have looked like with the Hedgehog Engine. This may be as close as it's going to get. Thank you.

It`s a shame, if Kingdom Valley was done right it would`ve been one of the most iconic levels in the Sonic Franchise, especially the section at 5:53.

06 had a lot of potential to be remade because how good is the visual is. Only need is a polish gameplay to make it stand out.
I agree with you, there were some really good stages with interesting themes that could be reused well if done properly.
I feel like while Forces is a technically better game, you have to be pretty dull to make people miss 06

I love how smooth the boost is in this mod....in gen or unleashed the boost can sometimes feel out of control....here it looks smooth af! Great job man and hopefully Sega takes this in account if they actually plan on dropping a sonic 06 remake

Generations and some of the Unleashed/Colors stages shows how good the boost formula can really be when done right. And the fact that it translates so well into all of the ‘06 stages really shows how they could do great things with that gameplay style. They really need to do a remake of ‘06, and maybe a remastered Generations, with extra content and playable characters, or have like a Skyrim Nexus where people can download mods onto their game like The Unleashed Project, Sonic Generations Episode Metal, SA Generations, etc.
Man the boost and the rainbow rings making Sonic do tricks flow really well here.

I like the new layout of this stage (especially when skimming over water), I always liked most of the stages in Sonic 06.
so they actually perfected this...it actually works! OMG I remember when this was just beta like how many years ago when just the basics of the stage were ported over. This is incredible!

I really love this style of level, it greatly implements the boost gameplay to a big open level like Kingdom valley, and I wish all of the stages in boost games were like this, mainly 3D, huge maps, 3 or so pseudo 2D segments, or if any fully 2D, try to smooth out the blockiness to feel more natural. But the down side is that they would take a lot of time to create and implement. But if sonic team gets a bunch more talented staff, and are not afraid to delay their games a bit for quality, then this might just make the best sonic game of all time

This is incredible. The level design is pretty much perfect. And the stage looks beautiful. I do have a few nitpicks though, mainly with the graphics.
-Can you change the rail animation and sound to the 06 Kongdom Valley one? Just a small detail.
-The stage:s lighting is a lot brighter than original, donnu if you consider that a problem though.
-The waterfall section had a lighter blue color to it I'm the original and was brighter overall.
Those are the only changes I would in force, but that's a bout it.
That's how the 2006 game should have been.

Everything is pretty solid. But the stage did started to drag after the 3 minute marker

Superstars is a stable game and really short length compare to 06 sonic 06 is a huge scaled and unpolished and unstable...which is why it's buggy as hell don't compare it to Superstars because superstars is more polished than 06.

Man, seeing Modern Sonic boost on levels where its more focused on 3D platforming and gradual speed than straight-up boosting just get through it looks really congested, but nonetheless looks really nice! 👍🏽

A lot of the Sonic Fandom shit on 06, but let’s be real here. If not for that game, you wouldn’t have Silver, the legacy of Mephiles, stages like Wave Ocean, Crisis City, Kingdom Valley, etc… And better of all: That kick ass soundtrack. No other Sonic game has better soundtrack than 06 in my opinion.
if 06 does not exist we would still have Silver for Sonic rivals and wave ocean because it is a copy of emerald coast
@@juanproductionsd680 Silver came out earlier than Sonic Rivals. They had to reconstruct him to use him again, yes. But the concept of Silver would be 06.

What if Sonic 06 was a hit? And if it was also on the Wii(had it been an HD console)? And if Secret Rings never existed? How'd Sonic's history have played out?
This should’ve been the Sonic 06 we deserved but it wasn’t the one we got. That game would’ve been a lot better with Sonic generations play style mechanics, and if they took out Elise from the story, or found a way to make her less annoying and if they let use the other characters more often such as Tails, Knuckes, Amy, Blaze, Rouge and E123 Omega. They could’ve also added Espio, Charmie and Vector into the story, and added Super Sonic in instead of the only time we got to use it being at the end of the game, and take out all this stuff in Soleanna City and just give us challenge missions instead as I think that was another thing about the game that people found boring.

Also the robots in the mach speed section, They don't do anything! They just fly around you for effect, making you FEEL like they're trying to shoot you!
If I remember right the modder couldn’t get them to shoot, still nice they managed to replicate the bots chasing and crashing tho!
