Usually youtubers ham up the title a bit to make the video sound better than it actually is. But this is not the case. This was the best level mod for Generations I've ever seen. It didn't even FEEL like a modded in level.
i love that the creators actually modified silver's section to be playable as sonic instead of just cutting it out, that's some really cool attention to detail
Even with the shortcuts you took this was still over 4 minutes. I love when stages actually feel like stages and glad we had insane modders create the 06 and Unleashed mods.

This is fr fire as heck! Unleashed and Generations have the best handling imo, Project 06 still seems a bit janky to control, especially when going fast. I guess Generations makes up for this by narrowing a lot of the space you have to maneuver in stages. Now I'm wondering if there is a whole initiative to bring the 06 experience onto Generations? Would be pretty interesting to see!

As much as I hate Sonic '06, Kingdom Valley was a GOAT level. It's incredible how well it lends to boost gameplay while still being open enough and with alternative paths.
Basically, what Sonic '06 could've been if they had at least thought of the Quickstep feature back then. Also, what is the blue crystal at 1:25 about? What kind of power up is it?
Notice how this is the exact level design taken from 06? That is because Kingdom Valley is a level objectively without flaw. It is pure perfection realized in level form and can work in any gameplay style with the right skill level. They simply don’t make levels like these anymore……

Sonic Generations is OBJECTIVELY the Best Sonic Game if you include mods. Like genuinely, it's not even fair to compare it to anything else anymore. It just clears the entire library.
speed is fine, in boost games and in part thanks to bad level design you feel you are going to fast, levels are railroaded so you cant enjoy the feeling of controling a fast character evading obstacles
@@verguco6051 the thing is, all that railroading is because by average, humans arent just good enough to even process that speed to even play that good. if you remove the railroading, you will have way less players than you expect, despite the potential of freedoom movement if the gameplay is ruined because the lack of player skill, it will inevitably ruin said player's experience regardless. thats why id call it casualproofing. i dont want players to leave my game just because they cant enjoy some capacity of it because of their skill level. its important to keep the casuals engaged, and then lure them in to get good at the game. many people just havent figured out the best way to do it yet.
I just did a comparison with P-06 and Retail 06; Sonic actually does seem to be moving slower here. To test, I timed how long it took Sonic to get through the section shown from 5:00 to 5:15, starting when Sonic stopped running the first waterfall and stopped when he began running on the second one. In both P-06 and Retail 06, Sonic got through in ~10 seconds in the videos I found, and in this video he needed ~14 seconds.

It'd be nice to see these modders make stage design that fits the Boost better and be on par with the original generations. Otherwise you just skip these levels so fast there's barely any fun moments left. Like, Shadow Generations is doing it, and it looks fantastic.

06 had SO much untapped potential, but it got overshadowed by faulty mechanics brought about by a rushed development. The pieces were all there: Adventure style gameplay, little bit of boost, a story that is a damn masterpiece compared to games after Unleashed, (Frontiers is up there, though, on all counts.) the characters were treated VERY well compared to later games, and of course, a KILLER soundtrack like always. I’m willing to die on this hill, but I understand if it’s an unpopular opinion.
