I seriously love the concept of Omega and how utterly ruthless he is. The fact that he was so incredibly feared that instead of daring to speak his name, humanity referred to him as the "Devil Reploid", literally making him out to be analogous to the _devil himself_
He is Zero's intended purpose realized and cranked up to eleven, and it's honestly such an incredible idea
Yeah because Zero was originally intended to be the top reploid of destruction, but even then wily can't defeat his own past, I heard here ans there that wily wanted to create robots to be heroes at first. So even his wicked desires couldn't beat the true wish and dream he had even after evil corrupted him. In a way, Zero accomplished his creator's forgotten and deep intentions and fought against his ultimate corrupted creation and the destiny he wanted for Zero.
@@MrSasukeSusanoo Zero's not a Reploid, Reploits are Robots based on X's schematics. Zero was not.
@@katomamundara8106 did you forget that Zero was intended to be the rival of the og megaman?, Remember the rivalry between wily and light, wily wanted something more powerful than megaman to surpass his rival. Zero is a reploid, from the og megaman at least.
@@MrSasukeSusanoo No. but being the 'rival' doesn't make him a Reploid. X Isn't even a Reploid. They're the highest performing Last-gen pre-Reploid Robots. Reploids are named such SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE THEY ARE REPLICATIONS OF X.

The irony of Omega is that he is straight-up stronger than Zero. He wields all of Zero's awakened potential. He is what Zero would have been if he had woken up as the person Wily made him to be.
And Zero wins. Because Zero is more than who Wily made him to be. His soul is far greater than that of the obedient killing machine before him.
The irony is, if Dr. Wily had perfected Zero, he never would have stood a chance against X.
I think part of Omega's problem is, Wiel had installed a personality program that had no idea what it could really do with all it's powers and abilities, aside from thrashing wildly and hoping to hit and destroy whatever it touched, fighting against Zero himself in the Copy Zero body, and Zero knew what his actual body was capable of down to the last degree. One example of a similar situation I can point to is Captain Ginyu from DBZ when he succeeds in stealing Goku's body but couldn't figure out how to use Goku's powers. However, Ginyu could still use his body-stealing technique, and Goku used that against Ginyu to turn Ginyu into a frog.
Omega suffered quite literally from a skill issue
@@GCJACK83 This was actually what happened when Zero first awoke during Megaman X, nothing more than a destructive machine. He fought Sigma but lost, and Sigma turned evil because of absorbing the Maverick Virus emitted by Zero. Zero lost all of his memory and his power decreased dramatically, but became the legendary Marverick Hunter on par with X and even defeated Sigma multiple times.
omega didn't have anything to fight for...lol
I always felt it was such a missed opportunity to have Zero's Original Body not be in the X series style.
Omega Zero design was meant to be the original Zero Body of X series, sadly MMZ3 development was rushed

From what I remember some early early concepts of Omega did show him having a body that was more like X's Zero. It's hard to make out but I think even when you see his silhouette stepping out of one of the old concepts for the Omega shell (his outer body looked more like a coffin there) you can vaguely see that his arm looks more like a cannon instead of holding a gun like Zero's Zero does and his legs are a lot more thick and blocky looking.
cant lie, the original x series zero always looked TERRIBLE to me. it just looks horrifically bad, but then again ive never liked x or zero from the original series. way too cartoonish and huge

I think that sprite animation is immortal in the eyes of Mega Man fans, and your mash-up was a really cool remix for it overall. Beautiful stuff. When we think Zero, we think of the man who embodies his virtues, not that empty shell.
When a villan calls himself "the messiah" and follows it up with an evil laugh you know shits about to go down.

I wish there were more games, movies, shows, etc. with similar ideas to Omega Zero. Like, the “powerful clone of yourself” type character, but the protagonist is the clone and the one they fight is the original. The only game series I can think of with a similar idea is Metal Gear with the Snakes.

TV Tropes calls it the "Morally Superior Copy" and it's more common than you may think. One of the biggest and most common examples I've seen is taking Adolf Hitler and making a clone free from all the sin of the original. I've also seen one with Pablo Escobar.

I am only just now seeing this, and this is honestly the single best remix of this theme I have ever heard. Reminds me of the chills I got first time playing this fight, and of course you paired it with the best part of ultimatemaverickx's animation too. Outstanding work.

I wonder if there was ever a reploid built based on Zero's design (Other than the body replacement made specifically for him after Weil stole his empty original body and created Omega's personality for it)
In X2’s good ending, Sigma did that by making a black armored Zero copy
