It angers me that whoever sent that mellow even think to send that to him. I don't speak Japanese my first language is English however I would never expect any non English speaking streamer or vtuber to adjust themselves for me cuz that's just wrong. I instead began to take Japanese lessons just earlier this year so that I could understand enough to enjoy their streams without eng subs. My point is we as a non Japanese speaker watching a Japanese stream should put in some efforts if we're going to enjoy something we're new too.

To be very honest, at that time (this was an old stream) i do feel like he was generalising the english fans because of some who makes trouble in his chat. It comes to the point that some fans would literally bully people who speak en in the chat and while he doesn’t outright says it he enabled that behaviour for so long. Which is why a lot of new fans feels unwelcomed to chat in his stream.
I believe he has grown mature and understanding from that experience and is a much better person now. It’s never nice to be generalised and treated with harsh words just because you haven’t been able to learn a new language. That being said i hope people also learn to always be careful and respectful in a streamers chat

Thanks for clipping this! I don’t understand how some people twisted the narrative this far. I remember there was a period where fans were saying you cannot comment in English in his chat

      Comment English is ok,
but not offtopic chat, talking by themselves /responding each other, talking about themself, making random request, etc. Basic chat manners which often still ignored.

    thank you very much for translating this, it’s something extremely important that i’m sure all of us want new kaigais to see because of some speculations thrown around back then that they picked up on. izuru is unfortunately one of the most misunderstood stars due to this reason ; ;

While this stream was a long time ago...I still cannot believe how far Izuru's words has been misinterpreted and spread to where now people think he doesn't like overseas fans which is CLEARLY not the case. I type in English most of the time across all the StarsJP boys and I have never felt like I was an eyesore or anything. I can understand if you're commenting to hope that it gets picked up on to be read or something but again, they are Japanese vtubers who clearly speak Japanese and don't owe it to adjust to you just because you don't or can't understand Japanese. All of the boys adore the overseas fans even if they don't speak or can't express themselves well in English or whatever language it is that you speak but they for sure express their love for us on more occasions than I can count even if it's only in Japanese.
Izuru has seen his chat evolved over the years and he's implemented rules for very good reasons. Like he's already explained before that he wants to see the viewers' comments and sometimes translations do take up quite a lot. Now, if you want some EN translations, go to his FREE CHAT. There's usually someone there translating when they want to or is available. Plus he's already stated before that when he is live he does keep an eye on his free chat too just so there's no trouble brewing in there.

Hope this reach a lot of ppl, thanks for the clip! I remember this was an old stream but even now izuru still get that kind rumor among kaigainiki. As i remember, this was the time when lots of kaigainiki goes out of topic, clogging izuru's chat to the point he had to post in his community (which was already deleted) saying eng ppl in his chat are noisy which was misunderstood and it led to this maro. Also live tl moved to free chat so that it can be organized and no clogging as said in this clip. As for emojis, it also clogs and he wanna hear our thoughts in his singing.
Simple eng is fine just stay on topic. Izuru is into interaction than spams

Thank you for taking the time to clip this! Small correction at 3:06 if im hearing it correctly he’s saying “キレてるやん、この人 = this person sounds pissed”
it’s a very old stream tbh so really it’s no use getting mad at this now. Remember it’s also common for nuances and tone to get lost/altered when using mtl. These days i dont really think theres any new kaigai viewer who’s insensitive enough to demand the jp talents to bend over for them.
I noticed that many vtuber fans are extra sensitive about the atmosphere of chat during livestreams, and the good news is thanks to izuru’s strict rules his chat and community is p much quiet and peaceful for a long time now
Having said that, i think this period was also a learning window for him because overly strict rules + an army of fans who police other fans can be detrimental to a streamer and kill their momentum in popularity. after all vtuber careers are built on the back of the relationship and trust between the streamer and their fanbase and if a portion of new viewers dont feel wlecome, that IS an issue that the streamer needs to think about and address for themselves. just making ppl feel appreciated and seen every now and then actually goes a loooong way in inspiring loyalty.
Lastly, one important point that fans fail to talk about enough is that a lot of the times the viewers who tend to spam or scream a lot on chat arent even doing it out of malice, they are just overly excited and passionate and they forget their manners and etiquette. Yes they are still in the wrong but demonizing, ostracizing, or snapping at them is neither productive nor a proportionate reaction. It’s better to maintain a positive atmosphere and just politely remind others when they cross a line

      Thank you for the correction🙏
The main point of the clip is reassuring the fans because it seems that nobody has noticed or seemed to highlight what was being done in this stream.
I myself did not know about it until recently and wished to convey his words to the fans. It was less about the marshmallow itself more about the issues being addressed and his reassurance to fans.
Many fans seem to have misinterpreted his actions and the exaggerated rumors make it worse creating a negative air around him that some existing fans feel unwanted.

@@nuran5537 iirc those speculations started getting traction when he added the “i can only japanese, please speak to me in japanese or just watch over” in some of his streams. He actually explained the reasoning for that rule which i did not see getting clipped anywhere but iirc he only has that rule for fps streams cos some casual viewers tend to backseat and explain things to him in english but he doesn’t have the bandwidth to mentally translate english comments while playing fps. There were also instances of english commenters getting carried away and even talking among each other which makes the jp viewers hesitant to comment.
Otherwise commenting in english is perfectly fine as long as you stay respectful and follow TPO

First, that post was rude to call him selfish in how he wants the rules run on his channel.
He's ok with translated subtitles, but not in live chat because it will be messy (if there's mistranslation, discussion to elaborate, distracting interactions, etc).
But he welcomes genuine English comments in chat, as long following basic manners (not go off topic, chat by themselves, mentioning other livers, spam, etc). As he also understands some English.
