In some manual cars you have a secondary cylander which can also leak. I had one and only found out when an oily like substance suddenly appeared on my driver's side floor mats. The car had an undiagnosed problem for years where it was very difficult to shift into firsr. Fixing the slave cylander fixed this.
Good day I have a 2016 jgc...I have noticed spongy brake pedal for a while...I bled the system and found that the 2 rear bleeding nuts only trickle with fluid when bleeding The front 2 wheels have a strong steady flow when undoing the bleed nuts Could it be one half of the tandem master cylinder to be defective? Please note that the 2 lines from master cylinder are connected to ABS pump module
How about my brake pedal won't back up after pressing it? I need to pull over then pump the pedal several times so the pedal will back up. It is the brake master, hydrovac or the vacuum pump? No check engine in the dashboard and the calipers had been checked and found not stacked up. Thank you.

A master cylinder can be bad , even though it may not be leaking at the back..
Could this be the reason the car shuts off when driving?
Unlikely, that sounds like an issue with the engine itself/fuel delivery
