Map 6 is purely for custom boost levels. So mine is based on what the custom back end flash said. It can be a matter of setting boost targets and duty cycle to get everything to work well. The place for info is N54tech. If you have a JB4 and can post up a log in the support forum, the guys will guide you through the process.

just crank the engine with no injectors for 5-10 seconds. on this sort of turbo tho, its not the end of the world. Once the engine is running the turbos will have oil pressure with in a second. So they dont really have time to get hot or damaged before the oil gets to them

Zero To 60 mostly smoke by the looks. First off the turbines and then the tyres. I noticed you kept the OEM wastegate actuators. Any reason you didn’t use a stronger spring to keep boost at higher rpm? Does it have better diverter valves?

@@ZeroTo60Tube Druing the rona lockdown here fuel got to as low as $1.44 for 91 so that was cool but couldnt drive so immediatly after level 3 it went up 10c lol
If you break them because you not tuned properly don’t blame it on the turbos ,you are making a big mistake running them without proper tune, you pulled so much timing on that pull ,that you had a throttle closure and i bet you hpfp went to like 60psi ,you need a bov to let the air out so so it doesn’t smack against the turbos and ruin them !!!!
You might need to elaborate a little here please? Where are you seeing the timing pulls and throttle closures? I haven't loaded the car up to do a proper 3rd gear full load pull for a log yet, so curious what you are seeing that is of a concern? Dont forget the car is JB4 running boost control and port injection, with a custom full e85 tune for 20psi on the stock turbos. Boost limit was set at 22psi for this drive.
Auto tune or map 5 is really set up for the BMS back end flashes. This car has a custom full e85 flash and port injection. So i'm not sure how that autotune feature will really go down.

@@nswiss19751 how good is that, im pretty sure he is even on Holiday at the moment.
love the videos guys ;-) .. Question: how did you setup your map 6 , any guide to it somewhere?
Map 6 is purely for custom boost levels. So mine is based on what the custom back end flash said. It can be a matter of setting boost targets and duty cycle to get everything to work well. The place for info is N54tech. If you have a JB4 and can post up a log in the support forum, the guys will guide you through the process.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yeah thats what I thought , Im hitting boost target in map7 on the Race BEF and everything looks ok, just the trims are going south from spraying ethanol & water in the chargepipe :) thx anyway
Is there a difference between the 17t and 19t sound wise?? Can you hear more turbo sounds from the front and out of exhaust from the 19ts since they are bigger? Thinking of getting the 17ts I’m sure they sound just as good
Not really, the sound difference comes from what inlets you have, what filters you have.
@@ZeroTo60Tube ok nice! I really like the turbo sounds , it’s music to my ears! I’m going with 17ts with relocated inlets.
Hey how do you prime the turbos exactly ? Like step by step? I’m already done with my turbo job but now all I need is to add oil and coolant and before I start it I want to make sure I prime the turbos Right , thanks in advance !
just crank the engine with no injectors for 5-10 seconds. on this sort of turbo tho, its not the end of the world. Once the engine is running the turbos will have oil pressure with in a second. So they dont really have time to get hot or damaged before the oil gets to them
Good stuff guys, keep up with the video. I just picked me up one of these e93. What do you guys think it run at the 1/4 miles ?
A stock one in the 1/4 will probably be mid to high 13s. But a few basic mods and cheap flash will get you in to the 12s.
Tire and alignment time👍🏻 what mix are you running of e85? E50, 60 or?
Full e85 at the moment. The car is running port injection a brand new HPFP and twin walbro 460s. So fuelling should be pretty good.
Do you still have this turbos on the 335i? Have you had any issues?
Yes, did a proper update a few months ago th-cam.com/video/MoUuuOAJ6Yk/w-d-xo.html&t
Congratulations
Good work boys, you've done a great job! You should ditch the piggyback and run a custom MHD map.
Its running a custom MHD map. JB4 just controls boost and the port injection.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Sorry, my bad! Can't wait to see more of this car.
Hey man great content 🙏🏻🙏🏻 at what rpm would you say they spool these 17tees?? Greetings N54 love
In 3rd you have to limit boost. They are laggy at all.
@@ZeroTo60Tube are laggy or aren’t?
The younger brother sounds like Borat 👍😃
That movie was a tough time in his life, please don't mention it................. "very nice how much"
Congrats!
Thanks for following along!! It's been a fun/stressful build. Dave said he's been talking with you about his M5.... Looking forward to going through the same process with that car soon.
Do you have to tune with these turbos is it really really needed
Yes. It is really needed. They will work without a tune but you’ll be missing out.
@@ZeroTo60Tube thanks I’m looking into tunes now
I keep on smiling love it🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for following and commenting along. Glad you're enjoying it.
Shit...that highway pull must have been close to 190! Bonkers quick
Off the shelf maps don't really work for upgraded turbos. Gonna feel much better with a tune
Couldn't agree more. This is a custom e85 tune for my car with the stockies, so hopefully the fuelling is pretty close anyway at these lower boost levels. But looking forward to getting things like vanos dialed to get these things spooling faster.
What OBD scan tool/interface are you using?
Thats the JB4 ios bluetooth app. So its connecting to the JB4 in the car.
Does it have enough power for a safe overtake?
I think in the dry, yes should be safe...... in the wet, ummmm maybe just wait for a dual carriageway 😂
Was the first run without a tune? Just JB4 and that's it???
no no, it was a custom tune for stock turbos. Just not a hybrid turbo tune.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Do you know if its safe to run an OTC map on the hybrids? I just picked up a set, just not quite ready for a custom tune. Want to upgrade my fuel pump before I target higher boost.
Man happy I'm not gonna mode my 335i to the point where I'm scared to drive it to the gas station
Subbed! lol is this thing running that hard without an lsd? i didn't see it in the list in the description.
Thanks for checking us out man. Yes no LSD at this point. I've tried to film most of the progress to this point. Definitely needs and LSD and coil overs asap.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Ah ok. Yeah I was interested in these turbos as its time to swap mine soon and ran across the channel. Have you guys got it to a dyno yet? because i was wondering what are some of the expected hp gains you can expect from these?
@@anthonywright5275 Havent been on a dyno yet, but the car has done a 6.43 100-200kmh on a dragy. So it really should be up close to 700hp at the crank. Thats the same 100-200 time as an Aventador. This car is absolutely wild now.
oh and its not on its final tune yet
@@ZeroTo60Tube Jesus Christ, Ima believer! Lol I'll go ahead and take the chance on em next month. Thanks!
When yall bounced off the rev your traction control kicked in and cut power.
I would expect a similar thing. However traction control was very off. It wouldn't have spun the wheels like that at all if it was on.
what tires are you runing?
PS4s back then
How long have the turbos lasted?
I have been super lucky. They are still going, however it seems the china manufacturers change what goes in them. Check out turbo labs America. Best info on the insides of these things. Its genuinely luck of the draw with the Chinese stuff at this point.
How many HP does it get without a tune map?
On stock map, a turbo change wouldn't net much a difference.
All done on a private road of course
Smoke and mirrors... honest.
Zero To 60 mostly smoke by the looks. First off the turbines and then the tyres. I noticed you kept the OEM wastegate actuators. Any reason you didn’t use a stronger spring to keep boost at higher rpm? Does it have better diverter valves?
Somewhere in Mexico 😜
I think you guys should definitely consider LSD next, it will be like a day and night difference
Watch the video man
are 19ts better or 17ts ? which is better
I have only driven 2 19t cars. TBH my 17t car was quicker however a lot goes in to setup. 17T vs 19T makes very little difference with the china turbos
@@ZeroTo60Tube my turbos jus blown today , i think im gonna go with the 17ts!
@@ZeroTo60Tube i went 17ts and i love em!
@@xansoxys how’s the reliability on those turbos ? What tune are you running?
what's your exhaust setup?
VRSF downpipes in to a Miltek cat back system. Its too quiet...
Thats my tuner as well
What setup have you got on your car?
Nice buy him some nappies for tomorrow's ride!
Deal!
God I wish fuel was that cheap here in nz. Down the road from me its $1.66 for 91. We dont have E fuel stations in NZ
We've been spoilt since the oil price dropped. Mind you E85 is still $1.79.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Druing the rona lockdown here fuel got to as low as $1.44 for 91 so that was cool but couldnt drive so immediatly after level 3 it went up 10c lol
Typical....
@@ZeroTo60Tube Either of those prices are amazing, here in Auckland with the 10c fuel tax we're at $1.95 =/
Its just comin ounnn
very very nice
time for an LSD 😁
Like yesterday hahahaha!!
Use Map 5 auto tune
Auto tune or map 5 is really set up for the BMS back end flashes. This car has a custom full e85 flash and port injection. So i'm not sure how that autotune feature will really go down.
The driver looks, sounds, and acts exactly like a typical 335i driver. These guys are the best prey I go after with my MKIV Supra, because their reactions after I destroy them on the street is priceless. Lol!
lol.....
I definitely saw 19psi
Get a custom tune
Dyno it!
Please do pulls with a mic in the bay so we can hear more ssstuttutututru wwwwhhhhuussshh.... so happy to see you guys almost shitting yourself’s lol. Great job all around you guys. Looking forward to other projects and more up grades to this bad ass car! 🤘🏽🔥👍🏽🚗💨
Dude, that you for following along. We are already talking about ways to capture the sound this car makes. To be honest it always sounded a bit flat before, but that has changed.
Zero To 60 thank you for making such great content that isn’t so stale... 😝 keep killing it!🤘🏽 ppssshh hoping 🤞🏽for that single spoolyboy is coming soon, wanna talk bout extra cool noises... you guys should look into maxpeedingrods.com not sure if they make a kit for the n54 but they do offer tons of turbos, turbo kits, pistons, rods, coil overs, all types of stuff at great coast. I also don’t see why they wouldn’t work with you guys cause you make such awesome videos and great step by step with out putting people to sleep. lol. But still can’t wait to actually get to hear what you guys got to experience firsthand. 🤘🏽🤙🏽🔥💪🏽🚗💨💯🙏🏽
Next project, 6mt swap
ohhhhhh i really wanna get the auto tuned a bit better first. Dont tell anyone, but i want to send it down a proper drag strip and see what the stock auto will do with this setup.
