- After a year of having the 17ts on my E90 i decided to do some dragy pulls and put the car back on the dyno to see what kind of power the car is making and i was pretty much slapped in the face lol

I’ve had my 17T turbos for well over a year now. If you install them carefully and inspect then before doing so then they should be fine. I’ve had Ken at wedge performance tweaking the tube gradually over a long period and it just keeps getting stronger and stronger.
What psi are you running?

Since you guys are living the best car life there in flo rida, get a custom tune from wedge, doc vu, david shoup cd969 and armin van buren then dyno all of them to see which one is better/faster. Here in CA we get state reffed for cone intakes and charge you an arm and a leg to pass smog... can't do shit here

Pretty sure it's the OTS map mate, they are designed for stock turbos, you running them on 17t is crazy 😜
OTS v5 e40 is more aggressive than most custom tunes. With a stock tmap v5 e40 will run 26/27psi on 17ts and the dme will never know.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Hokey Crap Moneys! What else haven't you told us about those different maps and which ones run how etc?? LOL. Actually that's something I'd really LOVE to know more about. We see all those choices of maps on MHD but I have no clue which ones act how or what does what. I've tried to look up that stuff but I still don't know anything except what you just said here. Mines doing 8.42, vid on my channel with a mild e30 tune, although it's auto and 135i, so a bit lighter I assume and not much lost on shifts, mines tuned by Ken at wedge, 20psi

@@ZeroTo60Tube lol the meth doesn't even work currently, due to snow performance supplying a 1600psi sensor instead or 100psi, also the kit only came with a 250ml and 375ml nozzle, waiting for a 750ml to arrive, then there's still the elephant in the room, the constant cylinder 6 misfire, still waiting on injector 😃

Hi i have a 2008 bmw 535xi and i replaced the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket but when i do a pull on 2nd gear the car smoke from exhaust blue smoke help

How many miles does it have? Did you get your turbos balanced before installation?
Turbos have around 10k miles and no i didnt do anything to them, only adjusted Wastegates
@@SwapDepot how did you adjust the wastgate? It will be helpful for a lot of people
Your burble tune is not aggressive enough you need to turn it up higher to make the turbos last longer
You joke about it but I know those wheels are wide as shit and they create more road friction and will actually slow you down unless you make more power to compensate

Definitely mate. Much better over 5,000rpm. Kind of mid way between stock and big single. Mine still drives pretty damn stock but then is a whole new world when you get into her.
I say that its worth it for me because if i blow them i can just swap them out or whatever, i know most people dont have the space, tools or knowledge to do the job
@@SwapDepot exactly why I did as well. I have the ability, space and tools. However I don't have the cash laying around to spend another 2k more for brand name. Being a TD family turbo I think that most ex JDM guys, like myself, will have very little concern doing the job.

I know this is an old video and all but I needed some guidance. I have a n54 335i, my stock twins seem to be gone. I have an automatic transmission, would these turbos be a good idea? My car is on its 3rd transmission, previous owners had pushed it too much and blew the transmission with aftermarket turbos (I don't know which turbos though). I wanna go fast on a budget, what should I do?
Service trans, add an xhp tune on the trans and send it with 17t turbos

Sounds good. So what did you do to fix it? Did you just go back to stock for the lower radiator hose? Or use the stock o-ring?
Just threw the stock one back in but im pretty sure i just need to switch o-rings
I saw people having the same issue on forums and they just swapped o-rings

I did a 6.81 60-130 with some flows using only 4th starting at 2700rpm

Why don’t you just get a 328 diffuser where it’s on one side a little easier then doing a a cut out
328 has the charcoal canister on the side and diffuser accommodates for that,my exhaust sits in the different position so i have to use the 335i diffuser otherwise i have a giant gap on the side

@@SwapDepot Well, not sure how you tried to communicate with me, but I never ignore anyone. So if you got that feeling, my apologies. I'm currently in Mexico on vacation, so I'm taking time out of my vacation to help if you still need assistance. One thing that shocked me was the fact you were on a stock LPFP as that would have been a required up for me to tune your hybrids. So my assumption is your rail pressure was crashing and the car would run out lean. Hopefully the LP upgrade fixed that issue as starving the HPFP like that can damage the pump when it starts to cavitate. Up to you, but if you change your mind and want me to review the logs and provide advice, I'm happy to do so.
I have a new HPFP that im installing, my low side was dipping down 65psi at wot around 5k rpm, v5 e40 map is great its just not as good as i want it to be up top
@@SwapDepot because it’s made for stock turbos that falloff at top. MAP reduces boost to conserve timing. Wedge can correct me at any time on this. I’m very interested in seeing these logs. All of these viewers are under the assumption that they can throw some China turbos and OTS MAP and call it a day.
Never said that the ots map is meant for the 17ts, all im doing is showing what im doing to my car, if somebody wants to copy thats up to them, i never recommended to run OTS maps and just send it, there is a reason why i said the car is getting a custom tune
Amen love the BMW amazing do you think that you’re losing power is because you’re having a boost leak? Because I know the 17T Is capable like over 800 hp have you may be thought of installing water in methanol for the boost
No boost leak, car is hitting target boost, spark plugs were the cause im pretty sure because the car runs alot better now
Ever thought of removing the hpfp filter and drilling the fuel rail?
@@spacekook3794 Removing the filter might help and is required for the overdrive options out there, without increasing the cvc duty on the HPFP the mod won't make any change to the pumps performance at stock pump RPMs. While I know the rail orifice on the 1M was slightly bigger, we haven't seen any advantage and have a few customers who actually had pressure drop even more after making only this mod.

He never logs. I’ve yet to see a OTS E40 V5 log for 17ts from anyone to prove it’s actually a healthy/happy tune for this setup.
