I ordered my MHD WiFi plug off of BMS and it was backordered but it showed up at my house probably 2 weeks after my purchase date. Highly highly recommend it !!
If you haven't already done so, you should put a zip tie on your front turbo inlet to the radiator shroud just so it doesn't touch the serpentine belt. I have RB inlets on my 135i and this ensures the large inlet doesn't touch any pulleys or belts as its extremely tight.
I must do that, i havent yet as my pods are crammed in to tight they are pushing that inlet hard against the rad shroud anyway. but with smaller pods i will have to.

Always be sure your Map0 on the JB4 when doing a bef. ;-) Custom tunes are the way to go! Even with stock turbos. There's always some hp hiding in there. OTS Tunes work but a custom tune will have your care tip top..... Nice video dude.

Im running less boost than the old turbos, smashing limiters like its no ones business and its lighting up both rears in the dry like it used to in the wet..... Michelin PS4s are no match for the hybrids :P
I had been having similar issues with my aftermarket fuel line and ended switching it out for a stock one from a donor car. Note I have an e60 535xi so the fuel pump and fuel filter/regulator is different. I noticed my fuel line had a bit of a kink since it has to bend a few different ways in the tank. Since going back to the stock 3/8” ID line I have noticed a more “normal” lpfp psi but be careful not to mess with all that too much. I believe I ended up screwing up the regulator so it’s having a hard time now holding the psi up after I turn the car off. As a result it sometimes takes longer to start the car.
AFR Readings are looking a slight bit lean. Mine had consistency around 11.5 / 12.5 after replacing both upstream 02’s since the downstream’s were both in good standing. My Mods were “BMS DCI intake’s, ARM Motorsports chargepipe, TialQ BOV, 3.5 BAR map sensor repined, x6 index 12 injectors, 7.5 ARM Motorsports intercooler, VRSF stock location 2” inlets, custom made aluminum outlets, DIY Walboro stage 2 fuel pump, MHD E40 V5 map (Insane Map), E50 V8 Map Stage 2+ (overboost problems) golf tee mod, VRSF 3.5” catless downpipes + Race Exhaust. Fuel psi was around 35 on WOT which was very scary. HPFP failed on me. That was the demise of my 335i. Financially a bitch to fix. Stock turbos maxed out at 21.5 PSI.
Being full e85 i will run more lean than a e50 map, my main concern was the difference between bank 1 and bank 2. Did you actually end up killing the motor?
No the motor ran very solid and I had high mileage for this engine @154k. The difference’s don’t seem to be that alarming and I think Bank 2 would be the criminal to investigate. TeeHee. You could also get a Helix Overdrive HPFP Add-on since you have port injection and I think that would be a very prevailing mod considering everything that you have done so far. It would compensate for running Full E85 👍🏼
More great content as always, just a idea for a future video if you kept old standard turbos, maybe buy one of those cheap ebay wastegate repair kits to see if they do anything... car looks like it pulls like a train now
As i mentioned on another comment, i've never hit rev limiter in 3rd before, it freight trained through 3rd much faster than expected. I have kept the old turbos for that exact reason. However, after driving with these 17Ts, you would be mad to put a stock set of turbos on an N54. It's so much work to swap them, you may as well spend the $900USD for these things. They are so much better.
i still have the turbos and might still do the wastegate fix, at the end of the day, not everyone can afford the hybrids, so might be interesting to keep them for someone elses car even to help someone out. We'll see, we'll see.

Looking good, do you have plans to hit the rollers or is all your tune going to be remotely done? Can't wait for the final tune. I'm still working through a few bugs due to the whole car being torn down and built from the ground up. I will post up my results from my final dyno of the Pure 600 setup. When I sprung a boost leak we were at 409whp/404WTQ at 14psi leaking. We will be making a track/lapping tune since that's what I do most of the time at the local race track 25 minutes from my house. Car will have 2 tunes road racing map and drag racing map. Cheers!
I will head to a dyno one day. We'll see what JSR thinks of the road tuning and log. The dyno may just be for curiosities sake, they all read so differently.
Still skeptical about the turbos. Seems like some people are having problems and some are great. So I guess I will wait and see how long these hold up before I spend my paycheck on them.
It targets 19.5 initially then tapers to 17.5psi near read line. In the log the turbos are pretty much bang on target. Very impressed with JSRs settings for a first go.

Please do it. I use a go pro, for simplicity’s sake. But it would be the content if I used my phone. Worry more about your filming than what your filming it with. Biggest tip is get good audio, I do try and use a mic when I can.
Hello again, for the preparation of the e85, is there any rubber hose coming from the gas tank to the LPFP to HPFP the intake and to the cylinder? Or are all lines/hoses made out of metal/aluminum? I want to do it too but i am worried about the e85 will eat any rubber lines

hey mate, turbos have been faultless to this point. However id do an engine :| water pump issue. I do believe the 6+6 blade turbos get a bit better wrap and the seller VIV auto is one of th ebetter for warranty.

Is it true that we need a custom tune for 17Ts? Or I can use JB4 and the car is good? Can you share your JB4 boost setup for pump 98 system please? I got same setup as yours except That I got DI instead of PI.
You really need a custom back end flash. You can get a flash that will work for free, through JB4. But i would massively recomend getting one through JSR. Makes the transmission behave so much better and he will also help you setup the JB4 to suit the tune
Its an Android 9.0 screen. It only replaces the screen, but it is linked in to the canbus system, so th idrive and steering wheel controls still work. I can switch between original idrive and the android in 1 second. th-cam.com/video/c_QtPVhyiKY/w-d-xo.html
Should be a hell of a lot more wild. Used to have a VX SS, manual, cammed was only around 400hp and it was wild enough. The BMW chassis normally hide the power so well. Your thing must be one step down from riding a pissed off bull......

Finished mine at the same time but i now think I have a cam ledge issue as I replaced all vanos solinoids and im still getting the repetitive fault 2a87 after boosting then reduced power
Dude that sucks. Have you checked the oil filter/strainer thing, that can lead to the issue. Its supposed to stock dirt getting to the vanos solenoids.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yes mate I took them out and cleaned them and i replaced the cam sesors to. Its OK if I reset vanos adaptions but only until I've hit boost a couple of times then 2a87 is back. Its killing me becuase il trying to log for my custom map and its non stop.
@@joshalbon2898 Check your vanos check valve. I cleaned mine and thankfully, no codes anymore. I do sometimes have odd idle but power is back. I Pray you get it sorted out!
Ive changed it all cam sesnors vanos and cleaned check valves. And tried swapping the vanos still keep getting either exhaust side vanos or exhaust side cam sensor. And now its spun a rod bearing to so need to get.to the bottom of it and do the big ends if there's no extra damage then work out what's going on with the vanos system or cam ledges
Personally huge fan of JSR’s custom tuning. He’s cheap for a custom tune and has put hundreds of hours working out how to get these things shifting properly. Let him know you heard about him on zeroto60 and get him to quote you on a custom map. But it’s a very similar setup to mine. My car is now doing 100-200 in 5.8 seconds faster than a new v8 turbo Ferrari. It’s wild.
Do you, or are you doing before and after 0-100 times with the new turbos on stock MHD vs the new tuned map? I'm running FBO and upgraded turbos on MHD 2+ but wondering if its worth the $600 odd to get a custom map... I don't want to run E85 because it's too hard to find where I live in Brisbane
I wont be doing a stock MHD comparison. But I know there is no comparison. Even my stock turbo tune was a custom, fairly wild tune and this base map leaves it for dead. It would be a massive advantage to get a custom map to suit the hybrids. JSR base map gets these turbos up on boost so much quicker. It would be worth even emailing him to see what he'd charge you. If you are just FBO on 98, it's a fairly straight forward setup, which should take much tweaking. My setup with the port injection and JB4 probably complicates the tuning and he's amazed me so far. I got an email from JSR last night saying i can try 25psi, so i am going to go and film that shortly. Wish me luck.
No idea regarding power yet. But keep in mind its quicker than an Aventador on a 100-200kmh sprint. That is a better benchmark than a dyno, with how so many dynos will read so differently.
i put 17ts on my car and the transmission started slipping (AT). I'm getting the transmission replaced but im wanting to run just ots stage 1+ to not overwhelm the new transmission. Do you think ots stage 1+ is ok to run on 17ts ?

@@ZeroTo60Tube The custom tune I have seems to have a lot of torque down low, so i don't want to ruin the transmission I'm putting in the car which is why I'm tempted to just stick with an ots tune. The car was fine before with the stock turbos and stage 1+
@@iankerr6526 as explained in that video above an OTS tune will run a heap of Boost or wear out the turbos. You really shouldnt run OTS on hyrbids. Unless you want to break somethineg.
JB4 isn't needed but it has several safety features from what I read that MHD doesn't provide, not to mention map switching as you mentioned. Since your your car has serious power now, I'd keep it. Haven't even watched the video fully yet, but I know this is gonna be scary fast. 😬
JB4's always get a bad rep. I absolutely love mine. Most of the time its the lack of knowledge that make people dislike it. It just like you said "Best of both worlds" different map tunings and extra safety features. e92 6ix speed manual FBO BEF and e85 all the way!!! 😁😁😁😁 🚗 🚗
JSR watches the channel that was the main reason. My car was very fast on the stock turbo e85 tune and RFP was good to deal with. But I wanted to try other tuners as well, and build up my own experiences with different people.
looks fine, keep in mind this was just the base map, the tuner will probably richen up a few spots but these cars often target around 12.8 up top. Since he has port injection it's definitely no problem to bring that down a bit if desired.

Hey dude, i honestly think its gonna come down to how you run them, how hot you get them etc. I have 1000s of people message about the china experience. What you see on the forums and facebook pages is mainly the negative stuff, cos the guys with no issues dont have much to say. The ones i link to in the description are the viv turbos, they are by the best seller i am aware of when it comes to warranty issues. VIV i also would bet money have sold the most n54 turbos. Take the plunge and be sensible with the car, understand what the turbos are going through when you are running 27-28psi and have some fun.

The Simply Tuning shop cars are pretty wild along with most of the cars they put out. Those 17t's look like a lot of fun.
Zero To 60 how much power do you think those turbos will make? And did u guys already flash the trans with XHP? If not you really should the autos aren’t that reliable with higher hp but the flash will help a lot with that and not to mention it makes the car shift like a beast. I can tell u from experience on that one 😉

You're 100% right, which is why i like being able to wind the boost down so quickly with the Jb4. On the same note, if you drive it in d full auto mode, its almost like a completely stock car.

This is what tuning actually looks like, it’s so much more involved than most people realize.
Well hopefully it gives some insight in to what guys need to do when they aren't even doing the actually tuning.

I picked up a THOR Wifi adapter, works with xHP, MHD, etc on iphone as well. Basically the same thing as mhd wifi adapter

I have the MHD wifi adapter, a problem i have is sometimes there is connection problems to the DME, but when it connects it flashes very fast
I just recieved my wifi MHD adapter over the weekend. Now I have my phone under the rear view mirror to monitor the guages wirelessly.

You’d think so. But seriously consider upgrading. Even the 16t with stock inlet size. Let the N54 breath a little easier. It makes such a difference.

Definitely at some point. A lot of people have commented this tho, so might try sooner rather than later.

Please do it. I use a go pro, for simplicity’s sake. But it would be the content if I used my phone. Worry more about your filming than what your filming it with. Biggest tip is get good audio, I do try and use a mic when I can.
Hello again, for the preparation of the e85, is there any rubber hose coming from the gas tank to the LPFP to HPFP the intake and to the cylinder? Or are all lines/hoses made out of metal/aluminum? I want to do it too but i am worried about the e85 will eat any rubber lines
The stock fuel lines appear to be fine. I have replaced my stock plastic hard line with a larger one, but mainly only to install the flex sensor.
Does JSR also do remote tuning for cars in the US?

hey mate, turbos have been faultless to this point. However id do an engine :| water pump issue. I do believe the 6+6 blade turbos get a bit better wrap and the seller VIV auto is one of th ebetter for warranty.

It's a Miltek system. It's quiet, but i think it flows very well.

Is it true that we need a custom tune for 17Ts? Or I can use JB4 and the car is good? Can you share your JB4 boost setup for pump 98 system please? I got same setup as yours except That I got DI instead of PI.
You really need a custom back end flash. You can get a flash that will work for free, through JB4. But i would massively recomend getting one through JSR. Makes the transmission behave so much better and he will also help you setup the JB4 to suit the tune

Its an Android 9.0 screen. It only replaces the screen, but it is linked in to the canbus system, so th idrive and steering wheel controls still work. I can switch between original idrive and the android in 1 second. th-cam.com/video/c_QtPVhyiKY/w-d-xo.html

My low pressure fuel pump goes all over the place. Under load it's on target bit at idle it jumps between 60 and 75

Should be a hell of a lot more wild. Used to have a VX SS, manual, cammed was only around 400hp and it was wild enough. The BMW chassis normally hide the power so well. Your thing must be one step down from riding a pissed off bull......

Finished mine at the same time but i now think I have a cam ledge issue as I replaced all vanos solinoids and im still getting the repetitive fault 2a87 after boosting then reduced power
Dude that sucks. Have you checked the oil filter/strainer thing, that can lead to the issue. Its supposed to stock dirt getting to the vanos solenoids.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yes mate I took them out and cleaned them and i replaced the cam sesors to. Its OK if I reset vanos adaptions but only until I've hit boost a couple of times then 2a87 is back. Its killing me becuase il trying to log for my custom map and its non stop.
@@joshalbon2898 Check your vanos check valve. I cleaned mine and thankfully, no codes anymore. I do sometimes have odd idle but power is back. I Pray you get it sorted out!
Ive changed it all cam sesnors vanos and cleaned check valves. And tried swapping the vanos still keep getting either exhaust side vanos or exhaust side cam sensor. And now its spun a rod bearing to so need to get.to the bottom of it and do the big ends if there's no extra damage then work out what's going on with the vanos system or cam ledges

Personally huge fan of JSR’s custom tuning. He’s cheap for a custom tune and has put hundreds of hours working out how to get these things shifting properly. Let him know you heard about him on zeroto60 and get him to quote you on a custom map. But it’s a very similar setup to mine. My car is now doing 100-200 in 5.8 seconds faster than a new v8 turbo Ferrari. It’s wild.
Do you, or are you doing before and after 0-100 times with the new turbos on stock MHD vs the new tuned map? I'm running FBO and upgraded turbos on MHD 2+ but wondering if its worth the $600 odd to get a custom map... I don't want to run E85 because it's too hard to find where I live in Brisbane
I wont be doing a stock MHD comparison. But I know there is no comparison. Even my stock turbo tune was a custom, fairly wild tune and this base map leaves it for dead. It would be a massive advantage to get a custom map to suit the hybrids. JSR base map gets these turbos up on boost so much quicker. It would be worth even emailing him to see what he'd charge you. If you are just FBO on 98, it's a fairly straight forward setup, which should take much tweaking. My setup with the port injection and JB4 probably complicates the tuning and he's amazed me so far. I got an email from JSR last night saying i can try 25psi, so i am going to go and film that shortly. Wish me luck.

How much horsepower are you pushing with the custom tune ?
And are you on full e85?
No idea regarding power yet. But keep in mind its quicker than an Aventador on a 100-200kmh sprint. That is a better benchmark than a dyno, with how so many dynos will read so differently.
i put 17ts on my car and the transmission started slipping (AT). I'm getting the transmission replaced but im wanting to run just ots stage 1+ to not overwhelm the new transmission. Do you think ots stage 1+ is ok to run on 17ts ?

@@ZeroTo60Tube The custom tune I have seems to have a lot of torque down low, so i don't want to ruin the transmission I'm putting in the car which is why I'm tempted to just stick with an ots tune. The car was fine before with the stock turbos and stage 1+
@@iankerr6526 as explained in that video above an OTS tune will run a heap of Boost or wear out the turbos. You really shouldnt run OTS on hyrbids. Unless you want to break somethineg.

JB4 isn't needed but it has several safety features from what I read that MHD doesn't provide, not to mention map switching as you mentioned. Since your your car has serious power now, I'd keep it.

JB4's always get a bad rep. I absolutely love mine. Most of the time its the lack of knowledge that make people dislike it. It just like you said "Best of both worlds" different map tunings and extra safety features.

What logging app are you using on your phone?
It’s the JB4 app. Monitors like MHD but it’s Bluetooth to the jb4 so easier to connect than wifi.
Why the switch from RFP to JSR?
JSR watches the channel that was the main reason. My car was very fast on the stock turbo e85 tune and RFP was good to deal with. But I wanted to try other tuners as well, and build up my own experiences with different people.
What fuel were you running at this time?

looks fine, keep in mind this was just the base map, the tuner will probably richen up a few spots but these cars often target around 12.8 up top. Since he has port injection it's definitely no problem to bring that down a bit if desired.

Hey dude, i honestly think its gonna come down to how you run them, how hot you get them etc. I have 1000s of people message about the china experience. What you see on the forums and facebook pages is mainly the negative stuff, cos the guys with no issues dont have much to say. The ones i link to in the description are the viv turbos, they are by the best seller i am aware of when it comes to warranty issues. VIV i also would bet money have sold the most n54 turbos. Take the plunge and be sensible with the car, understand what the turbos are going through when you are running 27-28psi and have some fun.

@@ZeroTo60Tube Im an S/C e46 M3. I had n N55 F30 but i replaced it with something else as my daily. I have plenty of friends with N54, n55, s55, s58, s65 and s85 powered machines. The Simply Tuning shop cars are pretty wild along with most of the cars they put out. Those 17t's look like a lot of fun.

Zero To 60 how much power do you think those turbos will make? And did u guys already flash the trans with XHP? If not you really should the autos aren’t that reliable with higher hp but the flash will help a lot with that and not to mention it makes the car shift like a beast. I can tell u from experience on that one 😉

You're 100% right, which is why i like being able to wind the boost down so quickly with the Jb4. On the same note, if you drive it in d full auto mode, its almost like a completely stock car.
