You love and do your best to protect nature, you are mindful of contributing to local economies, you appreciate foreign languages and cultures... you guys are simply wonderful. Love you already. If you ever sail to the Philippines, come to Cebu!
That rain catch is a great idea and you can get some rust prevention paint for your freezer before it gets any worse
HELPFUL HINT for putting the new cylinder sleeves into the block: Put the sleeves in a freezer for 8 hours or so. They will shrink and may only need a little help seating. When they warm up, they expand back as they should be.
Enjoy the the views guys. Nice work done on your cat. But great happy dog. That counts huge
I havent seen ur boat since u did the bimini top 2 years ago - time flies, and since then u have done a cracking job on the cat. Well done.
That is one nicely maintained boat.
I love how thorough and detailed you guys on all of your detailed videos. And your sailing / fun / vlog ones are also really well done, and enjoyable (except for Jetty's voice. lol). Your sharing makes it seem almost like we're there. Thank you.
Billie you should have stuck with Ronstan triples for the mainsheet. Looks like you went for the cheaper option. Whales Ahoy. xx
Welcome to the USVI. We are sitting on our deck having our morning coffee and spied your boat with the same binoculars that you have!! We have a Leopard 37 PC named Double Trouble, we may swing by and say hello from afar.
I should've done the same as you guys and self isolated. Now the boat is in Suriname, south America and I'm stuck in Europe. Hopefully within a few months we can sail again. Great content guys, keep up the good work with the uploads. Stay safe ⛵❤⚓
Stay strong;)
I also miss my boat watching this.
Stay safe
Just a couple of hints: Put your volt meter on the dinghy battery and then start the out board motor. Voltage should increase. The chain you need to fit the Gypsy on the new Windlass is called Short Link. Great Video. Thanks.
Great video guys as usual! Billy you asked us if you forgot to show upgrades on your boat. I do not remember seeing Sierra’s generator. Lol.
Unless you filmed it and I missed it. Doubt it cause I really enjoy watching you two and try to watch every episode.
Stay safe!
Great video guys. All the pride, hard work and enthusiasm you show is really fun to watch.
Your videos just keep getting better and better. You’ve come along ways, both in the quality and your travels. Be safe as always and love you guys!
Billy, I love the islands, Dominica is just gorgeous. I'm thrilled for you and Sierra getting to be there.
Nice update on your refit/upgrades. I would definitely touch up that Engle Freezer before it gets any worst. Have admit that was a real nice sail (with whales to boot)!! 😍👍. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe, fair winds. 👍😍⛵😍⛵😍⛵👍
LOVED THE SURPRISE! ...🐋🐳🐋
Stay safe, stay well ...from NY 😷🇺🇸
I'M HAVING FUN WATCHING YOU GUYS HAVE FUN...GREAT VIDEO. THANKS FOR SHARING...
Billy, happy to see the rigging doing well and your input to how much adjustment you have done is invaluable. I wouldn't worry too much about the chafe from the genoa, buy an additional leather cover is extra insurance and good practice in general.
Your videos are keeping me sane during quarantine! Thank you:)
Happy to hear that! :-) We will keep them coming for you :-)
Another terrific posting kids, especially with the whale sighting. Such majestic creatures! Note to Billy: check your face & hands Before you post, you looked like you just climbed out of the bilge!
Awesome episode...loved the upgrade tour, the whale watching and great 'B' roll drone footage. Well done👍 Looking fwd to the next installment. Cheers from Gaz 🇦🇺
Billy, try this one time: take the roll-bar off the Mantus. I say it makes no difference at all, or it may work even better as the relative tip weight will increase. And less weight on the bow is always good... Try it and see!
This was a great episode. When Sierra's happy EVERYONE IS HAPPY! You just have to smile 😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Billy I didn't know you had a Tech channel until just now and of course I immediately subscribed 👍👍👍👍👍You forgot to mention the generator you have for Sierra's air conditioner 😁😆
Hope you're all doing well.
Thanks for the geat escape. It sure beats this mess in Central New York.
The distance from the centerline of adjacent links is referred to as the pitch of the chain. You need to know the pitch of the device to get the correct chain. Most manufacturers of equipment will only work with a specific chain this way the can charge more for the chain.
A great video! Please stay healthy.
I honestly think your initial tug of war with the dodge and the light pole helped minimize the adjustments needed in the standing rigging.
oh yah definitely. We got 6" of constructional elongation out of each shroud with the truck
In short: Looking stunning! Stay safe in isolation! We are currently stuck back in Austria - a couple countries from our boat... so no chance to catch up on boat work for us but very safe indeed!
yes
I hope you have updated your insurance company on the additions as you have definitely added a lot of value to your catamaran which you wont see if it ends up under the water rather than on top.
Yup we did and even got a valuation survey while in Grenada
Loved the update on everything......ty
Did anybody else see a smiley face at 6:10 or am I quarantine crazy?
Great video! Is that a Raytheon Radar? I’m sharing this video! The Boat looks fantastic. Stay safe!
Yup it’s an old Raytheon radar!
Awesome vid you guys! 🤙
Onto Jeddy the Gypsie 🤩🥰🐕
Looking forward to the engine rebuild!
Thanks guys for the distraction, here in New England most marinas are shut down and we can't get our boats in the water. If you ever head north of Boston you have to check my HomePort of Newburyport, stay healthy and thanks again
🙂👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good descriptions and placement of links.
Holy crap!! I can't tell you how many times that I have seen your intro and i never noticed that shark at 0:57! That's crazy! What did you guys think when you first seen the footage??
I loved the video. And the whales were amazing!
Whale sighting was awesome! Next time drone up?
sorry to sound like such a newb here but is there anyway you guys would do a video on "how to sail" for beginners? You did a video a few days ago explaining wind positions which was really great and super informative so was hoping you could go over the basics? You guys have inspired me to want to get into sailing but admittedly I don't know the first thing about it.
Not that Billy wouldn't do a great vid on the subject, but you don't need it. I stayed at a resort once, took out one of the house Sunfish boats, and when they asked me if I knew how, I totally lied and said oh yeah, done it tons of times. I figured, the wind blows and the boat goes. How hard can it be?
I wasn't completely wrong about that. At least not with a little bitty 2 man boat, on a calm day, where you could swim to shore. There, you don't need anybody to tell you about sailing into the wind or anything, you'll figure it out in about 15 seconds. It didn't take long to realize the Sunfish is a terrible little boat. The Hobie Wave on the other hand, is a wonderful experience, and there is nothing a newb can do to screw it up. Well, with the exception of too windy to be out in the first place, but even then, it has a float on top so you can't capsize it. It's made out of rotomolded plastic like a toddler's toy, and the rudders are spring loaded. So you can run it up on rocks, into stuff, doesn't matter, you can't hurt it.
I'd recommend finding a place to rent one for an afternoon, sit through a silly class if they make you, and you will love it. 25 years later and still, that was one of the high points of my life.
Great idea. We will def add it to the video ideas list :-)
@@Tulasendlesssummer Awesome!! Looking forward to it!
How much will the chain cost?? Great video!!!
I'm very curious on the battery bank. How do you manage with just 200 amp hours? Is that a luxury that the lithium's afford as they are quick to recharge and are more durable? I ask as I have a trawler and I use 4 Golf cart batteries connected in series and parallel for my home bank. They say they are 210 AH each, so doubled from parallel gives me 420 AH.Now I don't cruise as much as you do either, but am tempted to see how my trawler would do with a long summer(not endless...yet) fuel cost wise...but the batteries are something I'm very interested in as it's always fun to see what others use and gain insight. Thanks from South Florida!!
Hi, Could you please do a bit on how your autopilot works and gets programmed? Thanks!
Really liked the work you done on your synthetic rigging. First I saw the concept with the Rigging Doctor and after that I saw it done on Zingaro, when it hit me with the easiness of having a serviceable rigging at any time. God forsake of rigging issues out on the sea, when you can just patch up a regular standing rigging. With a synthetic one, you still have the back up to replace it and move forward. Thank you for sharing with us your experience! Stay safe, hunker down and when everything is cleared continue keeping us entertained .... really enjoying your journey!
love that boat
Hello Billy, just curious. Your cat is a Crowther Spindrift correct? I was watcher another TH-camr, Sailing Zingaro, his cat is also (was) a Spindrift. Zingaro's hull came apart, could have been a real disaster but he managed to get it to land. Have you seen this and if so how it the structure of your hull holding up?
Love your channel and stay safe
❤️⛵️🐳Thanks for sharing!
You didn't mention the titanium chain plates.............
Haha you’re totally right! Sorry about that. They are all holding up perfect!
Fuse in the charger?
Cool.what are them brand binoculars?
Bit curious why you used dynema for your rigging, it's strength rapidly deminishes with exposure to salt water.
That is not true in the slightest.
No low battery alert from Siren Marine?
NM, I just realized this was probably filmed before you hooked it up. 👍
How many times have you hit your head on that over had been in the beginning of the video?
Im no expert but it looked like a Humpback whale. I've seen them in California and once while landing at St. Thomas. USVI. Hope you get to see some Manta Rays while out there. Some of the biggest in the world. I'm just hiding in my A/C. Its blazing hot here in Pompano Beach. Thanks. Enjoy.
Did you guys get your replacement parts for your autopilot from i3d .com yet?
Always a great sail when you see whales, I’d be interested to hear how you identified it as a sperm 🐋. We mainly see southern right and humpbacks, southern Australia. I’d be interested to hear how you handle the boat with jussi the one engine & what learnings you’ve identified!? Thanks for sharing and safe passage. 😎🌴🐶🐋
Are you guys in the BVIs current day?
USVI
How do you use your radar?
Nice video brother I’m from orlando Florida by safe 👍🎼🎶🪕🎺
while your in usvi you should hook up with the doodles
I just paddled over and said hi.
did the siren mtc kill your dingy batt?
No, the bilge pump had a small pebble stuck in it which killed it
The boat rigging looks really good you did a very good job hats off to the crew and whales the biggest creature on earth and I hope you Googled Black Pearl you've got to see this try h u l l never sane anyting like it amazing👍💪✌😇🐝

I dont get it
GODS BLESSINGS to you and your Families. LOVE in JESUS CHRIST FOREVER.

So exciting with the whales!
Glad Sierra got to see whales!
and you did't say... Whale Ho 2 points of the Port bow ⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
Whales are usually so hard to get decent pictures of..
Hey Billy & Sierra, I know you guys said Barracuda fish does not taste great, so I did some research for you both. Here's a recipe/video of Barracuda. May want to try his style. th-cam.com/video/kG5qJxGirwU/w-d-xo.html
Just passing it on. Have fun.
When you guys get back to the States or you might be able get it from Amazon they sell like a rhino liner for your freezer will you do the Queen at rust up Spring it comes in spray cans and you'll never have a problem ever again cheap fix Vegas Bill and relaxing SAILand I wish I was there to help you Sleeve your diesel
You forgot the generator
Why did you not launch the drone when you found the whale? Have you used the drone to try to locate whales? Thanks for the vids.
We were not sure if it was legal. We really wanted to but we didnt want to be in a foreign country in the wrong.
⛵️ 🐳 🐋 🌴 👍
Maybe I should be more clear the coronas Will turn into zombies in 40 days or so and they do swim. LOL have fun at your cute little doggie
Big surprise was the 🐳
Captain Vanessa in Key West calls motor sailing “shmotoring”
That other boat goes to close to the whale. They should stay back and guess people will have to report them.
sorry for the 3 times, not sure what i did
Dahm a neeka.
I want to know how you get your mask to seal over your mustache
Can you imagine a couple of whales hanging out, watching people walking by?
Lost me on the details of rigging a lot has changed in the decades since I've sailed... Besides, it's a cat, limited Hobie experience... Back to study up later...
J
Alert alert zombies can swim. Just saying be careful
Billy has a thigh tickler whats up with that? oh never mind he needs to shave
whale breathe is nasty!
NOTHING ENTERTAINING ABOUT ALL THAT BLAH...BLAH.....BLAH...NO ONE CARES

I have seen this. All of these boats were built by different people. Our structure is holding up perfect. I have been keeping an eye out for stress cracks in key areas of the boat and have not noticed any. We are not too worried.
sorry for the 3 times, not sure what i did
